One of the persons responsible for his mom's death later regrets his actions and seeks out to repent for it by helping a lot of people as well as rescuing a dhampir girl and taking care of her and becoming one of the strongest people on the continent who acts as a force of good. Van goes absolutely batshit insane seeing him and proceeds to try to murder him despite having no chance of beating him and later plots to kill him even though that person is doing a lot more good than Van is doing to help the world.
