I’ve always looked at Eva’s episode titles as if they were designed to be used together.

They definitely are. But it's fun to split them up, to compare and contrast. But yeah, they work best together.

>"Owaru sekai"
This has always been my very favourite of the bunch. "The Ending World" being my favoured translation.
The kind of dull acceptance in those words perfectly fits the tone. It's the literal apocalypse, and almost everyone is just accepting it. It's like how when Instrumentality sweeps the globe in EoE, the sound produced is somewhere between a scream of terror and a cheer of triumph. The sense of the entire globe surrendering all at once is so palpable here.

>The Beast that Shouted 'I/Love' at the Heart of the Worl
Definitely the best one.

OP here, i agree. Sums up the theme of Evangelion totally. I also really like ''Splitting of the Breast'', ''A Man's Battle'' and ''The Choice of Life''

If i have to chose, it's always the japanese, except for Angel attack, Asuka Strikes, and take care of yourself.

I think episode one has the best English title compared to the others. Managing to keep the alliteration and 4 syllables found in the Japanese title reenforces the urgent and breakneck pace of the first episode. The two titles work together to build the same mood, where other titles don't compliment each other as well sometimes.

It originates from such a mediocre scifi story, but god, it's a wonderful title and the pun is great.

both are relevant though lul

>At Least, Be Human
>Don't Be.

>SEELE, the Throne of Souls
Cool title.

>"Both of You, Dance Like You Want to Win!"

This is the only episode that will be confusing for people who never saw the Dance Dance Revolution craze of the mid 90s

>At Least, Be Human
>Don't Be.

Episode titles are a meme and say more about the pretension of the creator than the actual show

I would interpret the two titles as:
Don't just "be", at least, be human. if you sum down your life to only existing anymore, stop only existing and start being a human. fits to the depression portraited in shinji.
