He claims that "that great man" (aka Luffy) will challenge the world based on the history he bears, but the war that will erupt as a result of this challenge will be a global affair, not a mere matter of any particular group attempting to overthrow everything. The final cause of the war will be the, probably, the reveals about the WG and the world itself that will come out of Luffy conquering Raftel and uncovering the One Piece and the history, etc etc etc. not simply that Luffy thinks the other dudes are bad and his friends agree.

Although I still think it would be a great twist if "that man" was actually Teach, and the "prophecy" wasn't actually straightforward as the liberation of the world, and that's what Rayleigh meant when he told Robin to not be hasty (ie the so-called promised land to be reached by uncovering the missing history was not a black/white affair) and Luffy becomes someone who breaks up the whole riddle because he is outside all that shit. Vivi had better chemistry with the crew while she was around. Honestly it's hard to point at the character since crew interactions nowadays are so compressed and gimmicky they don't measure up to how it was during early GL times, but I don't think mirroring the funny faces of other characters is enough to talk about good chemistry.

Also, Vivi taught Luffy that leadership isn't just about barging in and being macho (even though the story never followed up that much on this).

I don't know about that. Remember how EL went? Everyone but Luffy thought of it as "the SHs are declaring war to the WG", but for Luffy it was just about getting a friend back. Not to say he won't realize what he's doing, but the ultimate motivation behind the actions is what matters here. And this goes back to the whole running theme since the TS of Luffy unwittingly becoming the messiah of the world and the bringer of dawn, without realizing what he's doing. Notice how WB talks about challenging the world, the prophecy talks about Joyboy's successor "guiding" Shirahoshi, everyone talks about the "will of D." as something concrete that will be fulfilled, but Luffy just wants to go on an adventure and be free. It's a sort of narrative irony that will either go untouched till the end of the story, or be brought forth in one of two ways:
-The twist I mentioned (least likely possibility, even if it's my favorite)
-Someone or something forcing Luffy to acknowledge his role in all this, and to stop thinking it is just about him and his self-centered adventure -at least, when the time comes for the world-shattering stuff. I think this is a likely route, but Oda has chickened out of making the character of Luffy face any change in the past so I'm a bit suspect that he won't go for it after all.

This would be fine and dandy except for the small detail that, if the plot goes the route we are all feeling it will, NONE of the big shit Luffy will do will come from freedom. Think about it, he will literally be fulfilling a 800 year old prophecy to the point the birth dates of the relevant agents (Shirahoshi) had to line up in order to make Luffy happen. This is already happening, with him becoming the hero of country after country in preparation for them to become "his" faction in the final war. The only one who sees Luffy as freedom is Luffy himself; for everyone else, he's "hope", "light", "the bringer of dawn", "the will of D.", etc. his entire role in the in-story narrative is predetermined. This is why I think adding some twists to the all-too-obvious hero storyline about the prophecy would be a good idea, but if that's lacking, then at least don't try to sell us something that is obviously phony.

oda is more creative and detailed in certain aspects that disagree with transition to doujin. its tough to explain my thought exactly, but its like, doujins require detail and time/effort in a completely different way than what oda does. so oda kind of scribbles his characters but gives attention to their outfits, behavioral quirks and temperament. Then you have doujin art which is attention to body and physiological changes within the body.

I think what Im trying to say is that a good one piece doujin would take a really really long time to make.
