The two things aren't mutually exclusive. He can use his anger to try and achieve the world Emma wants. Both things are very in character.

They do need to be rid of the Ratri clan in order to succeed, the revenge is just a bonus. But Norman has made it clear that he won't let the demons use them as source for food.

Not saying they are, I'm more asking could his desire for revenge be colouring his judgement in the matter?

His anger might be making him assume this is what Emma wants too, that's for sure. That's why he'd normally notice she wasn't on board and might've not this time - or he did and his brain just refuses to accept that.

Basically the role first arc Norman had would work - finding a balance between Norman and Emma's plans, but working somewhat independently of both.
It'd be interesting to see him playing mindgames with Norman to try and figure out what Norman's plan is and what exactly happened at lambda, but now that we've been shown a good part of it, I don't think that will happen. He loves and believes in Norman, but that doesn't mean he can't challenge him either.

That can't be it, because there was nothing to hide. We found it out like the next chapter, there was no reveal or anything.
It could be that he and Norman tried to escape, but got caught again, and that's how they met Barbara, Cislo and Zazie, and then then they all escaped together. Remember, Vincent and Norman were in the same Lambda program for high test scorers, different to the others.
The way they are on the run doesn't look like the planned escape Barbara mentioned last chapter, iirc she mentioned Norman thought of a plan and then the others executed it.
