Hunter x Hunter but contrarians and nostalgiafags here will say YuYu Hakusho just because it has a better protagonist. Put Gon in YYH, no one would like it. Put Yusuke in Hunter x Hunter, everybody would like it more.

No, its not. Only the relationship between the MCs is better because they are closer friends but everything else is inferior to HxH because Jump didn't let Togashi do what he waned.

I've finished watching it and now I remember how great Dragon Ball actually is. Damn all these Tenkaichi tournaments with Tien and Piccolo Jr, then Vegeta, then Frieza. HxH is good but nowhere near as good as Dragon Ball

HunterxHunter wouldn't work at all with Yusuke. Yusuke is too reactive. He can't interact very well with nuanced characters.

YYH has Kuwabara, HxH does not have Kuwabara.

Yusuke would sit on his ass all day living a comfy life if he could. He needs a constant Call to Adventure in order for there to be a conflict.

This requires antagonists who just won't negotiate or surrender. And thus antagonists who have to be killed or at least utterly defeated for the plot to continue.

If Gon had Yusuke's personality, he would never leave Whale Island.
