Couldn't say if the episode was handled well or not with all the lag but at least the art remained consistent.
Looks like it's really a 50/50 season. Curse JC Staff.
all aboard the /po/ train
So the pattern is true? Then next episode should look terrible.
This almost look like a hentai
That but she did it herself.
Next episode shouldn't have action so it should be safe. The art might be inconsistent but nothing major should be butchered.
Inconsistent art could be a problem, I think next episode Rinne finally appears. Now imagine if she was drawn by the same people who were in charge of previous episode or ep 1.
We're probably getting another episode 7 but with no action so it can't be as bad. Rinne's scene is one to look out for but hopefully they don't fuck that up.
Is pic going to happen this episode?
Yeah, it wasn't bad but it could have been handled a lot better. It was a bit short and they didn't focus enough on Origami's reaction. The VA still did a good job.
It happened.
hype I can't wait
do we have a live stream?
I'm not worried about the animation since there won't be any action until the final episode but the art could ruin the scene if it is bad. At least the pacing is not a problem.
I had to look for one in the archive, luckily there is always some guy asking for links.
I think the RAW is out.
Fuck, the build up to the scream was quite good, with those heartbeats in the background and both Origamis staring at each other made me actually feel a bit of tnesion, but when the screaming part came it wasn't what I wanted. Instead of zooming out of Origami they should have zoomed in. It was okay.
[x] Touch Tohka's tohkas
Retard.
Retard
retard
Yeah, it could have been much better. Not sure why they decided to zoom out instead of zoom in when the very point of that scene and even the illustration was to show the shock in Origami's face. The scream was also short while in the novel it covered an entire page.
Subs shouldn't take long either.
Retarded retard
It wasn't nearly as long as I expected it to be.
Not sure it was the stream lagging but Phantom's filter didn't disappear after Origami's attack. Why change that?
So was Origami a spirit all along or is it pretty much determined that spirits come of human beings that suffer immense trauma? Has the LN covered this or is it still a mystery as to what spirits are and how they are born/transformed?
Did you even watch last episode? Season 1 was supposed to explain this at the end of Kotori's arc but they replaced the entire scene with a flashback.
It sounds like you didn't watch previous episode, if she was a spirit all this time she could have transformed since the beginning of the series.
Volume 4 explained it but the anime skipped the whole thing.
Stop skipping episodes.
They missed the point of that scene but at least inverse Origami's mindbroken expression was on point.
Animation was also good, won't deny that.
>next episode Rinne appears
>the art is probably going to look bad
Fuck
I only watched the stream and it was lagging so I can't comment on that. I hope it looks good or at least decent.
It looks really good, escpecially the Origami vs Phantom fight. You can watch it RAW while waiting for subs.
animenosub.com
user, please.
If the pattern is true then next episode should look bad or the art must be inconsitent. I really don't want to see Rinne being badly drawn or in QUALITY.
What's with the difference in quality between episodes? Is there an A team and a B team or something?
It's just JC being JC.
Miku is worst girl.
Who was in charge of this episode?
I will wait for subs.
Why did she AAAAAAAAAAAAAA(ry?
JC Staff.
So they completely butchered Tohka vs Origami but adapted well Origami chasing Phantom. That is odd but I can't complain, never liked the Tohka vs Origami fight that much because Origami fought like a retard.
They are always in charge of all episodes but did they outsource the episode again or had enough time to anime the episode by themselves?
wat
They did themselves this time, just like with episode 6. The team that did episode 6 might have done this episode too.
She got older?
She's dead inside.
Like I said last week, the schedule is so bad they have to prioritize what episodes matter more.
She looks like she gained a few years after turned inverse.
The schedule might be a problem but I doubt they are having that much trouble in choosing what is important considering Tohka vs Origami was the very first thing they teased but the anime completely ruined it.
It's the dead expression on her face that makes her look older.
3 episodes for volume 10 and there are 4 left. There is going to be a filler episode after all.
I know but damn, it looks like she could need some water.
Hi guys i need you
This old thing got a third season after so much time?
Tell me anons is third season fine? I roughly remember the first 2, wanna know if it’s worth watching.
They could invest more time into Origami's character in the new timeline.
She found out she'd done everything in her power only to get cucked in the end. Of course she'd have that expression.
Hello Tripfag
I don't see that happening, they are already trying to extend things to use as much time as possible. Tohka vs Origami could have easily lasted only half of the episode but managed to focus on it the entire episode. I'd say the final episode is going to be filler, probably a beach or hotspring episode.
It's a mixed bag so far, literally 50/50. We are in episode 8 now with 4 episodes being average/good and 4 episodes being mediocre/bad.
The quality is inconsistent. One episode can look good then the next one is filled with QUALITY then next one it looks decent again.
I wouldn't recommend if you aren't a fan of the series. The quality is random and you can never tell when an episode is going to look good ot bad. This episode looked good but previous one was terrible.
It feels weird how they handled the Origami and Kurumi scene. I remember Origami being more pissed and even threatening.
Finished watching the raw, the animation was better than last episode but the flow was still weird. It's like there are some missing scenes especially during Phantom's chase scene and Origami's scream while not bad it coulld have been better. The rest of the episode was okay.
Not a bad episode, definitely an improvement over last one but it could have been better. It lacked a few details like showing how Origami's random attacks were destroying the city, also the way they showed the flames healing Shidou was really weird.
It looked like Phantom teleported out of the light cage, I'm sure she received the attack and that cause her noise form to disappear. This change was also strange, they showed Phantom with an humanoid form, why keep her disguise on even after she was hit?
I think they did that to make the reveal less obvious.
Where are the subs?
If you managed to stomach season 2 then this season shouldn't be a problem for you
I'm gonna watch this as soon as it ends. But how is it so far? Is it as bad as people expected it to be, or is it passable?
Not bad but it doesn't compare to her expression in the novel. They also zoomed out instead of zooming in.
Read the thread.
>Is it as bad as people expected
People didn't expect anything becuase JC Satff is in charge. If you managed to watch season 2 then it should be fine for you.
It's okay, for every good/decent episode we get we also get a bad one.
Fuck, seems like they're late today.
You can start watching after episode 11 airs considering there will be a filler episode as the finale.
Any hope for another season? Maybe they will announce a surprise second cour like Overlord did?
Good episode overall but it seems like JC still can't be bothered to draw faces if the characters are too far away. It happens in Index a lot.
I don't see it user
No.
No, not happening. This season was only greenlit to sell merchandise and give the LN its final boost before Tachibana finishes it.
No, the novel is ending soon and it would take at least 1 year for a new season to air if they are planning to announce a new season at the end of episode 12 but this is unlekily because the LN will be over by then.
>give the LN its final boost
I doubt this will help at all. The volume is being released this month and there are 4 episodes left.
Fucking hurry up HorribleSubs
DAL is not that popular and the novel is possibly ending this month.
We all saw this coming the moment she went back in time.
Can't get rid of old habits.
WHERE ARE ALL THE DOUJINSHIS
godammit
The art was consistent and on par with episode 2, the pacing was also good except for a few scenes here and there. I really wish every episode was like this and ep 2.
>DAL
>doujins
Not even season 2 managed to get more than two or three and that shit was selling much better than this season.
HS WHERE ARE THE SUBS!
Retard.
Yeah, we need more Tohko rape doujins.
Retard
Retard.
Subs are on erai's site.
I already watched it an hour ago.
>put Mio's design behind a digital filter but don't actually show the filter disappearing after Origami hits her
What's the point? Origami was supposed to be somewhat recognize her.
Can't spoil the animeonlys
Spics get their subs faster so what?
That is not what I meant, even in volume 10 they were supposed to show a few part of her body but not show anything that would reveal her true identity. In the anime they blatantly used Mio's design but instead of showing an arm or legs they decided to show nothing.
Don't worry anons. As soon as I get a hang of Tvpaint, I'll animate the fourth season myself.
Only LNfags would notice they used Mio's design covered in a filter instead of a shapeless form like in season 1.
Thanks. You can skip volume 12 and 13 and do Mukuro's arc.
She deserved it.
Not sure why they changed that. Now we will never see what Phantom's true form might look like in anime version.
It still lacked a few details like showing how Origami's attacks were destroying the city. The same happened with inverse Origami, it looked like she was aiming to Shidou and co instead of firing everywhere like in the novels
I think they just wanted to tease LNfags. Rinne also appears next episode so maybe they want to avoid confusion among animeonlys.
I just realized they've been changing the ending visuals
Even an animeonly can tell Phantom has long hair while Rinne has short hair.
They used spirit Origami last episode.
Given the last episode, I expected a lot worse.
It was still a enjoyable episode but small details like these can help to improve the quality of the episode a lot.
>flames healing Shidou was really weird
That is because the anime didn't really reflect the damage it caused on him. Hell, even in real life when a human body hits the ground from such height you can expect that person to break all of his/her bones and become paste.
>still no subs
There is more than HS.
>not knowing spanish
English fansubbing must be dead if HS is your only alternative.
Why didn't Origami use that light cage on Tohka?
Because she was in full muh revenge mode during their fight. Her angel had gave her the advantage but she was too angry to think rationally.
Origami goes full retard against spirits.
They nailed Origami's expression in this scene but Shidou's shock was lacking and it lacked a the small narration that made Shidou realize Origami was beyond salvation.
This episode was a huge improvement over last one and the animation was also better. Still, what was the deal with that scene with Shidou and Kotori talking while showing some random room.
>Tama-chan looks exactly the same in the past
Can't tell if laziness or that was the joke.
Time to post the rest, I'll dump the other three I have, if anyone else has the others post 'em
obligatory
There was supposed to be a joke with her commenting she was still too young to be a teacher or something like that and Shidou commenting about her age making her angry.
last one I have
Which scene was that?
I want the sleepless hag to win the Shidou bowl
You are supposed to post these only when someone posts Tohka.
Around 12:44.
Why?
>Finally caught up the the LN
This scene was pretty cool, volume 19 was somewhat disappointing, but the Mio stuff was nice
How long do you think they'll milk the series with games?
She was supposed to look the same.
At least they animated their mouths.
Why not?
Not that much, the only reason we got a new game is because of the new season.
This is not a videogane franchise. The upcoming game will be the last official game. There might be a few fanmade ones or maybe mobages like in the past.
She barely gets any screentime in the anime. Why would anyone want her to win?
Quality > Quanity
Volume 19 was the very definiton of wasted potential but Mio dying wasn't the only problem, it was plot convenience after plot convenience with scenes happening with little to no foreshadowing like spirits being able to handle more than 1 crystal.
Everyone always talks about how shit Miku is after her arc and she is that bad, but why does no one ever talk about how equally shit Nia is? All of Miku's scenes post-her arc always result in "Shut up Miku" and Nia's scenes are as bad
Mukuro and Kurumi needed more SoL scenes
Okay but what scenes are there that would make you root for her. They even skipped most scenes with Shidou and Reine interacting like when she was taking care of loli spirits and Shidou commented she would make a good mother to which she reacted in an unexpected way. The anime doesn't even try to imply to Shidou considers Reine to be the most beautiful girl in the series.
Because Nia is just.. there. She doesn't force herself into others and barely gets any scene anyway. Nia doesn't have a reason to stick around but she is harmless unlike Miku. She is a secondary character that is part of the main cast because the author wanted her to be, too bad I can't say the same about Miku.
Because Nia is not nearly as annoying as Miku is. She is a pointless character but is not annoying like Miku, her scenes are also mininal.
Nia is actually the least popular spirit in Japan because she is just so pointless, Miku has the advantage of having big breasts but character wise Miku is much worse.
>Kurumi
>How long do you think they'll milk the series with games?
If they wanted to do that, there would be at least two or three more games released. Instead, they chose to re-release the first two games several times because it was cheaper, from PS3, to Vita to PS4 to a bundle to even PC.
What's the deal with Date a Bullet?
Is it isekai shit?
It's isekai in the same sense that DAL is isekai with spirits being able to travel between the real world and the spirit world except Kurumi is dead.
No.
>Kurumi needed more SoL scenes
Isn't that what DAB is for?
I wish Miku had Nia's amount of scenes then maybe she wouldn't be half as annoying
Literally Persona 3.
What other subs do you guys use?
Just imagine if all the episodes were given this much love by the staff.
Volume 19 nosedived in quality once it became clear the author wrote himself into a corner for making Mio too powerful.
user said Erai had the subs up for a few hours already.
That Reine side story from Date a Live Encore was pretty cute
Is it better than HS tho?
Which one?
So retard and dark retard are actually separate now? How does that even happen? Maybe we shall see in the upcoming release.
Tohka became a goddess, remember? She can created clones or separate herself the same way Mio did.
I can't be worse than
>miss Tammie
Reine Holiday, I'm sure Reine Marriagehunt is good too
I would say it's effort and time instead of love. Last episode was terrible, if they cared for the series it would have looked decent in some scenes.
>Reine Holiday
Is this the one that shows how good Reine is amazing at several things?
yeah
>love
>JC staff & Kadokawa
Subs? Yo hablo español
It's not that new, I think we even had a thread about it when it got a translation. It was still interesting to see what Reine does during her free time.
This is what every episode would have looked like if JC Staff wasn't working on so many series at the same time.
I know they wanted to create some kind of fake suspense but why make Shidou look like he afraid of Kurumi shooting him when in the novel he knew what she was trying to do?
a threeasome?
The anime portrays Kurumi in a more menacing way than she actually is, probably because she is popular in Japan. They did the same with the Origami scene, in the novel you could tell Kurumi had not real choice other than comply with Origami's request.
>Reine Marriagehunt
Is this the one with Kannazuki meeting Tama-chan?
This thing is really old.
I guess Tachibana finally found a way to have two Tohkas at the same time.
I wouldn't be surprised if he actually ends the series with the real world not disappearing and with this being a good ending considering the writing is thrown out of the window whenever Tohka is involved.
Date a Live? More like Date a Slut amirite?
Um why are Index3chads laughing at us again?
I wonder if volume 20 is the final one. I would a final arc focused on Tohka having at least two volumes.
There is not reason to drag things any longer, no to mention if that was the case then that would mean JC had not reason to air this season in January instead of waiting for April.
not fair anons... it's was suppose to be about origami... I felt cheated...
this season is depressing
There is nothing to explore at this point but I can see Tachibana doing it just for the sake of drama.
?
stfu bitch Kurumi is PURE
The arc is about Origami though.
this episode,it felt like more a kurumi episode.
being a origami fan is suffering
>not a single scream after the Fraxinas was supposed to be hit by inverse Origami's attack
Lame.
How? She only was relevant at the beginning and end of the episode.
S L U T
It was even weirder when you consider she was speaking to Shidou through a speaker just a few seconds before.
Not really, plus this only the second episode of the Origami arc. The rest of the episodes are still her arc.
I wanna SNIFF her in this state
I didn't like how they changed the final scene with Phantom. Why give her a humanoid form if you are not going to show part of her body like in the novel?
I hope they don't change this scene too much. Origami was supposed to be crying while Shidou was comforting her but she looks like in she is already in muh revenge mode.
I was waiting for that part, if they used Mio design then shows us at least part of her body to give us a hint of what Mio would look like in anime version
I kinda feel sorry for origami in this image, I think they could do better.
also the aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa scene could be better it felt lackluster
The way I see it, Kotori and her crew probably died back then.
Miku is worst girl.
I liked inverse Origami's expression. It really shows how broken she is, Origami's realization could have been better though. It needed a few more seconds of Origami screaming.
The build up was nice but the scream was too short, they also needed to focus more on face while she was screaming.
She does swear to kill all the spirits after she stops crying but it doesnt look she has tears on her eyes or cheeks in the preview.
That is too bad because they also use the same shit.
Is this anime any good?
S3 is only slightly better than S2. Which doesn't mean much.
Why didn't he kiss her?
Because the sealing wouldn't have worked on her.
How do you think the sealing works?
I thought it was because she looks like a dried up radish
Season 3 doesn't focus on Miku. That is a big plus in my eyes.
Season 2 was a 20/80 so I disagree.
the cliff hangers are also wrong! fucking director can't do nothing right
If an ugly girl like Natsumi got a kiss then anyone can.
Does clock appear in this episode?
The novel ended with Shidou realizing he is in the past or are you talking about the scene with Kurumi suddenly speaking to herself?
Why?
Tohka is a thisty, jealous bitch that needs to be put down. Her love isn't real.
Season had way more QUALITY with budget running out in the final three episodes, not to mention it adapted two weak volumes and introduced two of the worst characters in the series.
She ruined everything.
>Tohka
>10th Sefirot on the tree of Kabbalah
>Stands for Realm or World
>Final Volume: Tohka World
We stil haven't seen anything related to Da'at.
It seems like JC is not a aware that a human body hitting the floor from such height would cause the body to become meat paste. I was expecting to see at least some blood.
I know their weapons are named after Angels but what the hell are their attacks named after?
This season has a lot less violence in it.
The names are based in other minor angels or divine entities related to Origami's powers.
Not every episode needs to have cliffhanger.
Was Shidou supposed to be using his powers during the episode or not? His eyes didn't change but he somehow kept floating without the twins help.
He was supposed to be under the effect of the twins wind but I'm not sure why he didn't use it on his own or why the twins allowed him to fall to the ground like that.
It's stated in the novel that many of his internal organs were messed up after hitting the ground.
I don't think Shidou was able to use the twins power back then wich would be pretty stupid because it wasn't even an angel, only an ability.
That is what anyone would conclude by using logic but it seems like JC thinks a human body is strong enough to resist such impact or maybe they just couldn't be bothered to draw a bit of blood.
I didn't understand that scene very well in the novel and is still confussing in the anime. Why not just allow Shidou to unlock to power on his own? He summoned Haniel in the next volume fo fucks sake.
>Still no subs from HS.
Are they doing this on purpose? I already downloaded it from Erai but they sure are taking their time.
So it was JC just being lazy, this episode lacked a lot of details like actually showing how destructive Origami and her inverse form were or that scene with Shidou. It's also funny how they showed Shiou's entire body in flames when he suffers similar wounds from using Sandalphon, yet we never see flames coming out from his body.
They took like 13 hrs to release subs for episode 5.
Back then Shidou was only able to use powers that Tachibana wanted him to use. I remember how there was a theory saying Shidou could use an angel based on the closeness between Shidou and the girl but this was proven wrong when he turned himself into a shota.
I don't see any difference in subs, they even subbed Tama-chan as Miss Tammie.
Both HS and Erai take it from Crunchyroll.
Same shit then, you are only getting earlier.
Tohka already became a Goddess in last volume. Too bad the author didn't actually bother to give any form of depth to her character to make a proper symbolism.
and we will probably never see anyhing about it. There is not point in turning Shidou into Da'at at this point with everything resolved, other than making him some kind of divinity entity for the sake of it.
my dick
But Mio hinted at Shidou being able to use Ain Soph and things like that. It would be such a waste.
This was kind of hilarious actually. What the fuck did she expect to happen when all she did was spamming lasers?
Only if he seals all the spirits but with all the main antagonists dead there is not reason for him to become Da'at and use it for plot purposes. The only thing he will do is the same as Tohka and fix everything else because he would be a god now. Tachibana wasted a good chance when he hinted that Shidou's mind was corrupted and that these memories had some effect on Shidou.
>This was kind of hilarious actually
Origami didn't deserve that.
Probably the same thing she expected to happen in volume 4.
That was her own decision, even when she admitted Tohka and the other weren't bad people. She still decided to kill them for no particular reason other than muh revenge.
wan
>that kotori birthday chapter in date a live encore where she almost pisses her
Not even a pissfag but fucking hot
And in the middle of residential part of the city. She probably killed a few more parents chasing Phantom.
Gross.
That would be nice if he had somebody evil to fight, he is not going to kill Tohka.
Dark Tohka is also out of question after she was revealed to be a "misunderstood" girl like the average spirit.
Nobody forced her to kill spirits, she has no excuses.
That is one of the first short stories we got, it was supposed to get a short manga adaptation but we never got scans for it.
She had something coming to her, but for all that she did she didn't deserve to be the one to kill her own parents.
The staredown with her past self was very creepy and sickening, especially when she realizes that the thing she hates most in her life was herself.
origrammie never looked better
Maybe they dropped the series after last episode.
We will see inverse Origami with long hair very soon.
That is what she needed in order to realize her mistakes, even if she managed to kill Phantom somehow that wouldnt have been enough for her since there are more spirits. It was a very well needed wake up call.
Short hair is so much better
Hard to feel sorry for her when she probably did the same to other kids parents but we will never know this.
Both her inverse and spirit form look better with long hair. That is the only redeeming quality of her Nepgearfication.
The same goes for Kotori then. We'll never know if her fire killed someone.
Her fire only affected a small area since Shidou was the only one close enough to be affected by the fire, not to mention she was sealed in a few minutes because Phantom told her to, if her fire was dangerous then Shidou and Kotori would have died back then.
>origrammie
Haven't kept up with this since forever, did Rooftop Kurumi reappear and give a kiss to him?
I didn't know that a mental breakdown turned a person into a mummy.
your preference is bad
I think it was a random clone.
Who?
Thats the kind of face that you make when you have been crying for hours and you are too dehydrated to cry anymore.
rooftop only reappeared in that side story, but eyepatch kurumi reappears and saves the day
I like Origami with short hair more in casual clothes and whenever she is using one of those combat suits but long hair goes better with dresses.
I like that explanation.
There is not reason to bring her back. The last time the original did that the clone ran away.
Some random girl that was supposed to be one of Origami's friends in the LN before Tachibana decided to drop the idea. She is also Tama-chan's niece.
Ah, so it was chuuni Kurumin the one that saves everyone.
Would have been nice to see that, wonder how much she remained in the past crying over the irony of her fate.
Not that guy but I don't remember that happening. Chuuni Kurumi was the past original Kurumi and there is not future time travel bullet from what we know.
They are friends in the current timeline since Origami was supposed an average AST member before leaving.
I was expecting the ship to actually taking damage and exploding this time since they failed to show it in previous episodes but I only got a bit of fire to the side of the Ship. Disappointing, they failed to capture tha Fraxinas jobbing essence.
But they jobbed three times in the anime. In the novel it was supposed to be only two.
I count previous two episodes as the same fight.
Am I the only who thinks loli Origami doesn't look that much like a loli?
She is supposed to be around Shidou's age and he wasn't necessarily that young looking.
But Origami is a lot smaller than Shidou. The past Origami seems to be around Kotori's age.
She is supposed to be like 11 or 12 at the time, not really that young looking like she was in episode 4.
If Origami had something like this why she never used it against Tohka? She could have won.
Read the thread.
She is like 2 or 3 years younger than the current Kotori.
Origami isn't very smart when spirits are involved, you know?
Two reasons. One, because she is an idiot. Two, she was still getting used to her angel.
Origami wasn't in full muh revenge mode against Tohka.
>expecting to see Tohka losing to Origami
She looked younger in season 1. I think they made her look older because loli Origami in Natsumi arc looked too young.
Tohka was losing to Origami though.
If Frodo posting was still a thing, there would be a lot of Frodos in these threads. Logic is not something Origami uses when fighting spirits, I'm surprised she managed to trap Phantom like that.
When?
This got a season 3? Season 2 was pretty lame desu.
There was a chance but then Origami decided to to the same as Tohka and fire at her with her strongest attack, probably killing each other in the process.
Read the novel.
It only got a new season because they wanted to sell more merchandise not because the fans were demanding for it.
But I'm watching the anime and they already covered their fight and it looked terrible. It certainly didn't look like Origami had the advantage when she was at punching range from Tohka.
Tohka was getting hit constantly, and she only managed to punch Origami once.
This episode actually had animation. Those energy slashes were nice.
It didn't look like Tohka was taking that much damage and if Origami had that much adavantage there was not reason for her to actually use her light cannon or whatever and risk killing each other.
So how is the next episode going to end?
Probably in the new present after Shidou changed the past.
Next episode should cover Shidou meeting Rinne, failing to prevent Origami's fate, Shidou meeting the past Kurumi and finally he saving her parents from death.
I don't remember well the order of events but probably after meeting the past to impress the fans.
Shidou meeting the past Kurumi happens kind of early in the volume. He only considered talking to Phantom after failing to prevent Origami's fate.
Probably after or before meeting Rinne.
Origami is the worst. At least Miku is hot and can sing, do massages and all sorts of other shit. What is Origami good for, other than ruining every scene she's in with MUH REVENGE or MUH SHIDO?
Origami wanted to prove she was stronger than Tohka, no way she would back up and wait for a chance after seeing Tohka was using her strongest attack.
>MUH REVENGE or MUH SHIDO
What are you saying? She always put her agenda above Shidou. Miku must be a pretty shit idol if someone like Tohka beat her in a singing contest just in the previous arc with no experience whatsoever.
Isn't Origami supposed to be good at pretty much everything except killing spirits? Miku can't cook or clean, she is annoying and sometimes is not allowed to be around her females fans without having someone at her side to stop her. Origami is also far lewder and amusing in her antics.
Natsumi is third worst.
After reading the events on the wiki, next episode is likely to end with Shidou meeting Rinne.
Nope, Miku is still the worst. She has no redeeming qualities whatsoever and only shows up for her shitty Yuri schtick. Not to mention she never paid for the bullshit she did or even apologize for that matter.
Origami at least gets better. Can't say the same for Miku. However, Origami was definitely worst girl before her arc happened.
I've never actually read an LN for an anime I like, is it worth it to continue after the season ends?
As far as battle harems go? It's fairly typical plotwise, but it gets bonus points in my book for A) Not making the female lead an abusive tsundere B) MC actually doing things and capable of fighting himself instead of just standing around C) MC not being an infuriatingly dense motherfucker or a LOL FUNNY PERVERT archetype
Actually she did, in more ways than one. Live by the sword and all that.
What the fuck. For a moment I thought Origami had destroyed the moon.
Considering this episode covered part of the beginning of next volume, probably after the meeting with Phantom.
Tsundere as main heroines stopped being mainstream years ago. Tachibana did consider to make Kotori the main heroine at some point tho.
Why would Origami appear on the moon?
Kotori barely even qualifies as a tsundere by today's standards.
She does end up destroying the world before Shidou changes the past.
If you like DAL enough to consider reading the novels then go for it.
Even by those years standards Kotori wasn't nearly half as violent as the average Tsundere.
Isn't the prose in LNs supposed to be kind of awkwardly written? Like I said I've never read any but I've heard some people say that it's kind of clunky compared to normal novels.
That's why she's okay in my book.
Does Kurumi have a King Crimson bullet in her arsenal?
Yeah, barring volume 12 the other arcs rank from okay to amazing with volume 14-18 being good, vol 13 is okay and vol 19 could have been amazing but the author decided to drop the ball.
If she had an ability like that then she could easily go to the past then erase the event where the first spirit appears. That way she doesn't have to fight her if she wanted to change the past.
Not him but you shouldn't expect good prose when reading LN, it doesn't help different translators also tend to change the structure of phrases. In DAL's case the translation is okay. I care more about the content of the book than they way it reads.
Not sure if that would work. Event after Shidou changed the past and the the timeline was rewritten. Inverse Origami was strong enough to trascend time and appear in the rewritten timeline.
I'm sure Mukuro must have travelled to the moon in some occasions.
Pretty sure she's visited every place of the solar system.
She wouldn't be so weak if she had something like that.
Origami did it entirely out of love. Love of killing spirits.
If she loved killing spirits then that would make her actually evil.
>Origami
>love
Pick one.
I don't remember if it was ever stated a spirit could survive that long in outer space.
Their territory allows them to ignore such limitations. Remember territory is literally an area around the user that allows her/him to manipulate reality to some extent.
So this is how time rifts look in DAL.
If you are planning to read the novels then you can skip volume 12. It's mostly filler and doesn't add much to the overall plot of the series.
Volume 12 introduces Mio though.
It does look like it is only covering the moon. I thought it was Origami turning inverse but it seems like it was Origami coming back to the present.
She shows herself to the spirits but it's nothing that couldn't have been done in future novels.
Not talking about her showing up but her name. If he started from volume 13 he would stumble upon lots of questions.
So after watching this episode, I think Date A Live might be underrated. At least it tries to tell a story and I appreciate that a lot.
But that was the point of introducing her name. No one knew who Mio was in volume 12 and no one knew who she was in volume 13. He will be just as confused regardless of what point he starts reading.
But aren't most battle harems trying to tell a story?
Yeah, the same old cliché story. This one tries to be different.
I like this origami best
or maybe it's just inverse Origami trascending time and going back to the present.
Most battle harem that happen in magic academies tend to follow a pattern. It also happens when a series borrows heavily from mythologies. Maybe you should try harems that don't focus that much on battles.
I would have fucked her in the broken toilet stall.
Gross.
t. Origami
Well, that is too bad. You are getting Nepgear in two episodes or maybe even next one.
She is a traitor you know.
Already posted.
>literally "No , Origami. You are the spirits" the arc
Wat?
Some old DOOM meme.
Origami didn't go full retard for turning into a spirit. It was something else.
The moment she decided to walk the path of revenge she was doomed to turn into flying mummy.
Isn't Natsumi a NEET? Origami at least goes to school.
You sure? She never fucked up things this badly when she was human but not even a single day into being a spirit and she manages to kill her own parents.
She could have been one if Yoshino didn't exist.
Natsumi works for Nia sometimes. What job does Origami have?
Being part of the AST is literally a job, you thought it was some kind of charity?
>they rushed Natsumi arc for a filler episode
At least it wasn't Origami's arc.
user, we still don't know if there's a filler episode.
Not sure why they keep adding fillershit in a 12 episodes season. What is the point?
There are 4 episodes left and they adapted volume 10 in 3 episodes. What makes you think next volume will use all the remaining episodes?
They would have to slow the pacing even more if they don't want a filler episode. I wouldn't mind the kind of filler that helps to the flow of events. They could expand on Origami's new personality and new life or something like that.
Are they trying to make loli Origami stay in full psycho mode in the anime? Seeing her cry while Shidou comforts her would be a heartbreaking scene.
Why not? That's probably what they're aiming to do.
The preview seems to show the next scene where loli Origami stops crying and vows to kill all the spirits.
Not sure it that is the case, so far there is no scenes like that in the anime. If anything they have skipped a few minor scenes here and there in order to extend others.
I feel sorry for Kurumifags, so many retarded people are attracted to Kurumi.
I think the final episode will be a filler episode with Shidou and co going to some place to relax with the new Origami. I would say they are aiming to end the series in a light-hearted and fun way.
I don't think we'll have stupid filler after not having one after Natsumi's arc. It would really be stupid.
?
Why not? The second half of Origami's arc can be adapted in 3 episodes like the first half was and it won't feel rushed at all. It wouldn't be the first time I see a series ending in an episode where they go to the beach or something like that. The ending of Origami's arc doesn't give enough time to explore the new Origami so maybe they will try to use her in the final episode.
Stop visiting normalfag sites or reading Youtube comments.
I hope the next OVA adapts Yoshino Fireworks or Kotori Birthday.
It's literally the title of a youtube video.
Miku is worst girl.
That is what I meant, it's not that much different from clickbait.
I seriously hope this doesn't mean you use Youtube to watch anime, user.
No, I just came across the video when I was listening to the opening on youtube.
So far the OVAs have adaptated old short stories, I hope the new one does the same. Now is rare for a short story to be entertaining.
Reminder to love avenger, anons.
Something is wrong with Origami's body shape.
I never understood why every manga adaptation stopped after Tohka's arc. The first managa made by Ringo had the excuse of being cancelled because of health issues but I don't know what happened to this one.
I think the second one stopped becuase the anime way too far ahead.
To be fair, I don't think DAL works for manga format. The first one had the right humor and the art was charming but then the author got sick.
That didn't stop the Index or Railgun manga from getting more chapters. Hell, Bakemonogatari got a manga adaptation years after the anime aired.
I really liked how the first manga managed to put emphasis into scenes that anime didn't like Kotori explanation of Shidou being abandoned and Reine's reaction to it. Right from the start you could tell something was going on with Reine for reacting like that when she is not even supposed to be related to Shidou in any way.
With all the new girls added to the series I doubt the next short story to be adapted into OVA will be an old one.
Looking back, I miss the times where we would get different kind of material from different sources. I miss DAO, hell I even miss DAS.
Date A Origami is also pretty blatant in that Reine was more than a secondary character.
This was when the series was supposed only 10 volumes long. Tachibana probably told these authors about the original twist of the series.
I too miss Date A Origami but I'm glad it only focuses on the first 4 spirits and Origami. The series really changed a lot after volume 7 and Miku's introduction would only serve to ruin DAO.
We have DAB!
So does the MC ever fuck Origami?
I stopped watching after the MoreLikeDateASlut ova.
DAB might as well be a fanfiction at this point. Kurumi doesn't even behave like the anime portrays her to be and the amount of expendable characters is really high.
Did you play the game?
That's becuase she's not the Kurumi we know. She has no memories in DAB and she has come to know what having a friend she has to constantly take care of is like.
Wasn't the game supposed to be out before that OVA?
The problem with that is that character just isn't Kurumi. This spin-off can very well be about some random girl who failed to become a spirit and nothing would change. It doesn't expand on Kurumi's character and even if it does it will be irrelevant in the end because the real Kurumi is the one from the novels. The fact it happens in an entirely different timeline also means the continuity is different. DAB could very well be its own series unrelated to DAL. We can't say the same about DAO or even DAS.
You can't expect animeonlys to know about the game or any other type of material that isn't the anime otherwise they wouldn't be animeonly.
It's not meant to be taken seriouly like all the other spin-offs user.
what ovas were there besides the kurumi one?
DAO is not meant to be taken seriously either but everyone loves it. DAS is for fans who like Origami and mecha fights. DAB just doesn't feel like part of the series, Kurumi isn't Kurumi. I think it has too much "off" to it.
DAP is still much worse though.
Kurumi Star Festival is the second OVA. The first OVA adapted two short stories and is animated with S1 art. It's also very entertaining. I'm surprised you don't know about it.
It might have to do with the writing style of the guy who writes it.
The writing isn't the only problem, other than Kurumi being there. There is not really any major reason that could relate the series. In one hand we have DAO with Shidou, Origami and the first 4 spirits acting like they do in the novel and DAS which focus on Origami/the AST and stays true to her character. On the other hand, we have DAB that could be its own standalone story and series and DAP which is still the worst spin-off because the it handles the characters badly and turns the series into some mindless fanservice series.
The Origami/Tohka OVA.
Looks like we don't know who Phantom's VA is. This might imply Phantom's VA isn't the same one who voiced Phantom in RU.
Technology is inferior to magical superpowers in this world.
They put her voice through a filter in the anime. Listing her VA in the credits would ruin the surprise for later if there is one.
She looks sweaty, are you sure you want to sniff that? Imagine the smell.
piccolodick coloured pigeons
That is how the average pidgeon looks like in some places.
I think many people would be interested in playing a character like Phantom. They put the question marks there for a reason. Also, I meant to say that this raises the question whether Phantom's VA in season 3 is the same one who played Phantom in RU
Wasn't Reine's VA listed as Phantom's VA in the game? I don't remember well. If they are planned to use Hanakana as Rinne's VA in the anime then it would make sense if she also voices Phantom in the anime considering they are using a filter.
Probably the same person who is voicing Rinne.
I actually thought they might have cast someone as Mio and then they put a filter on. Rinne and Mio are two different characters.
I've been rewatching the good/decent looking episodes and I noticed the art is less detailed during comedy scenes and I'm not talking about funny faces or things like that. The art just looks different.
This season has been outsourced and has also been animated in house several times. So many different people have participated that you can tell the differences in the artstyle quick.
They already lost a chance to make Mio talk in the anime when they decided to keep the noise forn on. Sounds like a waste of money to hire a VA only to hide her voice behind a filter and never actually hear what she sounds like.
Yeah, that must be the reason. I guess it also helps to cut costs and gives more time to focus on the serious scenes. Only season 1 seemed to keep the same quality of art at every scene except for the final episode where it look kind of cartoonish.
So, how many diseases is Origami carrying in her?
It's cheaper but as long as it doesn't look that much different like last episode I don't mind.
Well, there's always that possibility.
According to quick search in google, over 60 diseases. Damn, Origami is not someone you would want as girlfriend.
They already wasted their chance. Rinne will be the last and only time we will see Phantom talking with a human form.
Stop bullying her, she has it bad enough anons.
It's a fact though. Origami should be aware that pidgeons are pretty much a pest and carry a lot of diseases.
Who was Phantom's VA in the game again?
She's not sick so she's fine.
Reine's VA.
Who says she is not using her suit to cure herself? This is a wolrd where it is possible to reattach, regenerate body parts and even stop cell growth.
Wow, totally not obvious who Phantom's identity could be.
I wonder if spirits would even be affected by human diseases
They can't, it was even shown in an early short story that posion has no effect in them. How do I know this? Because Origami tried to poison Tohka at some point.
I don't think cancer even exists in this world.
Did they really hope that no one would make the connection? The game was releases before season 2 from what I remember so this is pretty much spoiling the twist.
The game was released when the series was gaining popularity and Tachibana was contemplating extending the novel.
Their cells are powered by magic.
Obviously Rinne's VA. Not sure why they would hide Reine's VA when they already listed her in the game.
>Kurumi doesn't even know if changing the past is possible despite having control over time
Wonderful.
Maybe becuase it's not Reine's VA?
This is only touching the surface. The anime won't reach her second arc but it shows how retarded her actions and goals were all this time.
This is the same person who genuinely though she could defeat the first spirit.
Exactly, it couldn't any other person than the one voicing Rinne.
God damn it HS, stop fucking with my RSS downloader by being incompetent and making me forget about things
None of the girls probably know how to use their angels at full potential other than Tohka. Whatever knowledge they when using angels is gifted to them magically when they turn into spirits.
?
Are you still waiting for HS or something?
I always wondered, why do spirits never used spacequakes during battles? Kurumi's angel is a pair of guns that don't do that much damage but she can actually destroy cities with a spacequake easily.
I already downloaded from Erai but HS still hasn't uploaded it? The fuck is with them today.
I think you forgot a spacequake can be easily erase by another spacequake. This happening in S1 when Kurumi tried to destroy the school with one and Kotori negated it with another. None of the spirits use them in battle because they cause too much destruction and they are not murderers. Kurumi can't use them either because she needs to absorb people and a spacequake desintegrate everything it touches.
Because spirits can negate a spacequake with another. It's literally pointless to use it against another spirit.
Not sure but it's the same shit anyway.
There is also the chance that a spirit might be immune to the effects of a spacequake since they often happen whenever a spirit is unstable and they themselves are the source of it.
This is the closest you'll be to the Goddess.
It hurts.
REINE END OR ELSE!
We were supposed to get something more explicit.
Ded.
What?
Origami's attack hit her hard enough to actually make her noise form kind of disappear. In the anime it looked like it had not effect at all.
The author probably forgot about her already now that he is finally giving his favorite daugther the spotlight.
I don't remember watching it but it was so long ago I might have forgotten
In the anime she managed to escape in the last second. You can see her getting out of that light ball right before Metatron fires the beam.
I don't think she escaped. The entire scene seemed like it lacked some segments. Fist Origami trapped Phantom in a cage that appeared in an instant then when she fired the light beam, a big part of the city was in flames and Phantom looked like it teleported away but weirdest part if how they kept the "you are..." line from the novels implying there was something familiar about Phantom but how can this be possible when Phantom never dropped the voice filter nor her noise form in the anime?
She was too good to be the true end.
Kurumi is really naive you know. She is also not very smart.
It seems like they thought it was a good idea to have Phantom use her real shape but still be glitchy. That was for the LNfags, it doesn't matter what animeonlys think, they don't even know Phantom was mentioned in season 1 and 2. Heck, they don't even remember Kotori and Miku used to be human but they magically turned into spirits for some reason.
Nasu? Is that you?
Tsukihime is supposed to be fucking dead. Keep it dead, faggot.
Didn't they actually state that Miku was turned into a spirit by Phantom? Kotori only mentioned she was turned into a spirit the same way in S2.
Yes but animeonlys don't remember or they simply didn't care back in the day so it didn't matter how they did Phantom here.
Even if Reine is dead in the novel I will always have this game to make what Japan never did.
But if they gave Phantom's noise form an humanoid shape then why change the vert last part where we were supposed to see a glimpse of her design. If they did it for LNfags then why change the last part.
Oh no! Anons! Not again! Ahhhh!!!!!
Miku is worst girl.
Maybe becuase giving Phantom an humanoid form was already risky enough. Only LNfags could tell who Phantom is with that form.
Meant for
>risky enough
Risky for whom? Animeonlys? Like you just said, LNfags could probably tell what the humanoid shape looked like. However for animeonlys, it's not much different from watching a person being covered by a mosaic censor.
Bump limit.
This was a nice comfy thread. Season 3 threads sure are rollercoasters.
Japan can't into real mature women.
Even animeonlys should be able to tell if they showed for instance Phantom's hair color.
That doesn't really says much, it's like saying Yoshino could be related to Shidou because both of them have blue hair or that Reine and Origami are related because both of them have different tones of silver hair.
god, I love origami so much.
how can tohka even compete with this.
You will see next volume.
Better body.
God dammit I loved this episode. This thread was also quite enjoyable. I love DAL and I love you anons. Never change.
It's nothing new. They really have shit taste.
I think both Reine and Shidou were unfortunated to be in a harem series. Their story could have had a lot of potential in a non-harem series or at least a series with harem elements.
At least Tohka is not carrying bird diseases.
Looks like Ellen.
Well, it's thanks to that very same story that this harem stands out from the rest so not eveything is bad.
I love DAL.
Even worse, Tohka is carrying retardation and it's contagious
Well. I'm not sure what to expect from the last arc, now Tohka is the main focus again I'm expecting a forced happy ending or a forced tragic ending for Tohka because being a goddess is probably not enough for him. She wants every character to remember her so he is making her a martyr.
That is not a disease.
Tohka is not a retard!
Origami a Tobiichi.
Retard
Retard.
Retard.
would origami be more cute if she smiled a lot?
retard
>DAO
>DAS
???
You will see that in two episodes, maybe next one.
I love Kaguya!
Retard.
Date A Origami and Date A Strike.
R.I.P Kotori
I almost thought you weren't here Kaguyafag
Where are the neps
Mana is superior imouto anyway.
I don't care if you call her a retard. I know she's not so that's enough for me. Tohka is best girl!
In an episode or two.
>I know she's not so that's enough for me
t. Tohka
LOWEST IQ
The episode looked a lot more consistent than last week's. There were some scene I felt could have been longer but overall I think it was a good episode.
>32 INT
She is canonically retarded though.
Next episode should look terrible or mediocre following the pattern.
>already ate the chocolate
yeah she retard alright
Being a retard and being cute are not mutually exclusive things.
She has the lowest grades at school.
would you date a origami?
No
Yes but version 2.0
>dating a girl who hangs out with pidgeons
No.
This idol is going to do something perverse to these sleeping girls. What do you do?
I suck at making Origami.
I don't think she spends her spare time hanging out with pigeons user
A healthy and clean girl wouldn't even consider touching one.
