No, because Ray was also irrelevant during GP arc. Norman was off panel, which is different, Ray is in the story, but only as a plot device for other characters.

Important shit could just be as a plot device though, not as an independent character. He could definitely make a recovery, but if he's just going to be Emma's support dog, he's boring as a character.
Hopefully I'm wrong and he'll get to play his own role. Norman supported Emma in escape arc, but he was more than a plot device because he acted independently of her and didn't just listen to what she wanted him to do.

Not him but the point is that Norman did stuff on his own instead of merely saying "I support you" and passively tagging along. He was trying to figure out a way to save everyone because Emma wanted it, but he was scheming and planning on his own and considering plans that didn't take her wishes into account. He makes plans without telling her and does stuff like trick Ray into revealing he's the mole behind her back.

No, Norman always did what he thought would make Emma happy, he never followed what she said she wanted blindly and was constantly acting independently (trapping Ray as the traitor, lying to Don and Gilda) and we often followed his POV - we saw as much of Norman's inner thoughts as Emma's.
Yeah, it's too early to tell if Ray will actually get to be a character again or not, but after like 80 chapters of irrelevance (while not actually being offscreen, like Norman), people don't have much hope.

Yes, because like Krone's flashback showed, there are plenty of other mama candidates who are all trained hard and set up to compete against each other. Krone also mentions that Isabella is special, considered a genius and elite mama, and thus commands more authority than most mamas and especially a sister who is just plain lower ranked.
You act like getting killed is a big deal when the series makes it clear early on that it isn't, humans are bred and raised to be killed. If Isabella wanted Krone out of her way then it doesn't matter if it's through death, since there's obviously other mama candidates. There is a bigger cost in making her a mama since they are better off picking candidates that won't be trouble like Krone has already been.

Not at that point when she received the letter. Both Krone and Isabella were already aware of them being in each other's way and schemes, Krone knew full well that the letter at that time could be nothing but a trap.

She turned out to be pretty realistic.
In the beginning she comes off almost like a caricature of a villain, but she's surprisingly rational and clever while not being as smart or cold as Isabella. Her being rasher and extremely competitive are flaws that makes her more relatable than Isabella, but they're personality traits all make sense when you realise what kind of person you have to be to even make it to her position. She's a good antagonist because she makes a good opponent for the children and you want them to beat her, but by the end you do feel bad for her and wants her to beat Isabella too.

Everything that made the manga good.
The characters figuring things out and researching how to escape while outsmarting each other was the good bits of the manga, and 90% of that is cut in the anime. It's understandable that they don't want to use inner monologues, but the monologues in the manga delivered key information to the reader, and rather than trying to find a different way of delivering that information, they just cut it, which leads to the characters not feeling as smart as they did in the manga.
Plus, they fuck up the most impactful moments of the anime with stupid direction and needless cuts and shots.
For every good thing they do, they fuck up a dozen more.
Honestly, it's a downright terrible adaptation, but since it's mostly well animated, everyone eats it up.

The one thing I've noticed, which was a strange change, is that in the mango Norman figures out that Krone set up a trap for the meeting right on the spot when she proposes it. But in the mango they seem to think it over and then come to that conclusion.
