guts was clearly different and thats why he was able to make griffith forget about his dream momentarily. his motivations may have been basic at the time but he was clearly cut from a different cloth. i guess thats why griffith was so messed up about him, he knew his motivations were transcendent, only being held back by the people he currently surrounded himself with, and guts came to realize that when he overheard griffith and the princess.

I disagree when you say Guts was held back from his dreams or whatever. From what I can tell, Guts never finds a dream outside of revenge. He actually is pretty basic when it comes to that stuff, all he ever cared about (at different times) were fighting, surviving, revenge, love, and protecting those he cares about. Never does he come even close to any real ambition that isn't killing every last apostle and god hand out of PTSD driven rage

I just went back and it turns out Guts "breaking through" Femto's telekinesis isn't even canon. Seriously just read the manga, this is what actually happens. This is just further evidence there is no chance guts could take reborn griffith or even come close, given griffith also killed the strongest apostle with basically just a touch. Berserker Guts combined with the strength of zodd could only slightly hurt him

We all know Griffith is extremely powerful but I think it's wrong to say Guts has no chance. The power boost he's gotten from the berserk armor and his sword being drenched in so much apostle blood as to become magical is really huge and his party has gotten decked out in magic items, too. He's got two witches in his group and Schierke's teacher was powerful enough to warrant Griffith sending Zodd and that dragon apostle after her. And speaking of the dragon, the berserk armor powerup was so huge Guts went from not standing a single fucking chance to actually inflicting fighting toe-to-toe with it, and that was after he was already on the brink of death and without Schierke helping him stay in control of the armor. Add into all this the fact that Griffith has only been making more enemies with Ricket and the Kushan making their getaway and Skull Knight still being out there somewhere and I'm sure it'll eventually be enough for Guts to finally cleave that pussy's boipussy in twain.
