The visual tell is alot the same, but that's just the artist settling into a style. Gensai also did the standing still and composed in the midst of a flurry of punches thing to show off that he's a good all around fighter, which I assume is what's going on here. Gaoh Mukaku has to be dead by now right? Look at how fucking old he is when he starts to train the Niko orphans. Then those orphans grow up, he takes them to the forest, most of them die, and he disappears. Ten years after that, Niko meets Gensai, by which point Gensai's master and Gaoh's childhood friend has died. And it's been at least ten years since that, because Gensai said Niko died ten years ago. So I'm thinking he either recently died and told Ryuki to join the Kengan matches if something happened to him or Ryuki is referring to someone else as grandpa. Hell, maybe that time Niko met Gensai it had to do with getting an infant Ryuki to someone since the times kind of line up given Ryuki's age.

I saw Raian mentioned here, and honestly Raian had a reason to be arrogant, he was literally the strongest out of a crowd of people that were a cut above the average. He put Ohma into a cohma, while Raian was up and murdering very shortly afterward, no worse for the wear. If Raian and Koga ever fought he would murder him nearly instantly. Most of the really, really extraordinary fighters in the tournament had never set foot in a Kengan fight, they were just drafted.

You mean Point fighting Karate? Nearly all Bogu practioners are from full contact karate or okinawan styles of karate. Most point fighters dont step in full contact territory, the ones that do are normally shunned from their old schools (atleaat in japan, where practices of the Martial Arts are often sect-like)
