Jesus christ. Other shonen like One Piece and Dragon Ball are repetitive but at least the shit they repeat is entertaining. Who the fuck gives a fuck about "Kaminari Denki" or "Hanta Sero" or whoever the fuck anymore? You can't ignore your supporting cast for an entire arc and then expect us to care about their training.

Its for sure not good but I don't think its terrible. Its just kinda generic? Cape shit was a poor choice and the school setting+inherently reactive role of the hero take away a lot of agency from the potentially interesting MC and make him look like a huge pussy. Villains and fights suck too. Its better than fairy tail and Sins, because at least it showed a degree of potential (thats quite the low bar though).

I get what you mean but for a manga starting its run in July 2014, having a lovable adult as a pro hero with superpowers as the MC and then to start cutting down on the amount of time he could use his power would have been a bad move; tackling it from a shounen angle made it different enough for the intended readers, kids and older teens, to easily self-insert or become invested in it.
