This chapter is actually a pretty poetic check point on the relationship of each girl with Fuutarou.

Ichika thinks she's special and believes that as long as nothing goes wrong she'll win. She treats her competition as annoyances more than anything. Her gift is probably correct, but it's safe as fuck.
Nino's the most aggressive and active but her love is also the most self-centered in her relationship with Fuutarou. Her gift is nice and probably cost a bit but it's nothing we could reasonably think Fuutarou would like at all.
Miku makes a few efforts to connect with Fuutarou but even before Ichika interrupts them, they're missing each other trying to communicate. Her gift was chosen as an activity that could be done together. In contrast to Nino's, Miku's gift is even more unlike Fuutarou but it's also more clearly inspired by his own words on what he wants, so I think it's more like she's trying but failing rather than firing off in another direction.
Yotsuba only gets two pages reiterating what was already covered by the last Yotsuba chapter because Negi hates her. Fuck Negi.
Itsuki's relationship with Fuutarou isn't currently romantic but there's an element of mutual support. Nothing is actually happening here but there're strong hints towards future growth. The gift isn't actually one at all but it's taken in naturally.

Tama-chan and Miku would be best friends.

I think the scented candles are being undervalued a bit. They're definitely not something Fuutarou would buy on his own but they're not a bad idea since he wouldn't have to go out of his way to use them and can use them while studying. Worst case scenario, Raiha might like them.
Ichika is going for something that he's sure to like but lacks impact while Nino and Miku are taking gambles with things he might not like.

It's been pointed out countless times that hints towards the kisser, which I wouldn't even call a set in stone proof to who's the winner given the framing of the flash forward line, can be added in later. I'm not saying it's Itsuki, but I'm saying that if it turns out to be her later then her line this chapter and what she said to Miku about liking Fuutarou being odd will become obvious foreshadowing in hindsight. Something is an asspull because evidence doesn't exist once the reveal is made, between the introduction of the element there's plenty of ground to elaborate.

I absolutely agree that as it stands, there's no evidence that Fuutarou and Itsuki see each other as anything more than friends, but it's incredibly easy and incredibly common for platonic developments to be turned into romantic developments later on in a work. All it'd take to convince me with how much they've gone through with each other as just friends is a single page of call backs and a late realization.

Part of me likes to think that Negi is just baiting with the Itsuki stuff and she won’t win, but I’m aware she almost certainly will. I’m not a huge fan of the kiss thing though, that seems like too out of nowhere for her.
