Either Extra and/or Unlimited as OVA, and Alternative as a movie.
With the Extra OVA, you can at least depict both Meiya and Sumika's routes as happening, then run with Meiya for the Unlimited version. This is absolutely important for creating the conflict and tension in Alternative and Unlimited.
I can't stress that this shit must be 3D CGI free. The mecha designs are not done justice unless given the Giant Robo treatment.

Make it long and true to the source, meaning 3/4 of anons would bitch and moan about pacing and drop it before they reach S7 when Alternative starts.

Long anime literally never get made these days outside of shounenshit so it would have to be two seasons of 13 episodes each unfortunately.
S1 Extra and Unlimited. Generic route but with emphasis on Sumika for Extra so that Alternative doesn't seem like an asspull. Stop at the point where the shift to Unlimited canonically happens, Sumika and Meiya ends can be OVAs or something.
Unlimited starts from ep. 7 or so. Generic route again but with a Meiya end. The whole "Game guy" saga is a good opportunity to give screentime to whoever has been shafted so far.
S2 Alternative. Shit writes itself. Don't make a new OP song, just use Asu e no Houkou, it's not possible to improve on it.
There, easy. Things will be skipped but not so much that it won't be kino. Never bought the shitty argument that ML is impossible to adapt.
