Nobody is better than miura, he's on the top tier where the differences between artists are too ambiguous or a matter of taste to discern a true winner
Me
Yes, you're just a newfag that hasn't gotten past entry level manga
Keiichi Koike
Artists that actually release content.
Murata
is shit.
Sei Itoh.
Nodody is a better manga artist than Hiroaki Samura.
soulless
Either Togashi or Inoue
>it's another "Yea Forums circlejerks the same artists" episode
at least he's still updates his work
Easy to do when an untalented writer like him all does all day is drawing non-stop like he's somebody else's bitch.
togashis best looks like filler pages in berserk
his character designs are also all horrible aside from one or two
That looks like shit though
user stop poting your sisters drawings and pretending they are from a manga
Most good mangaka given enough time can do the same.
Miura's only strength is detail, he's a very average artist.
I'd love to see Asano try something more in line with the likes of Berserk to see how his style translates.
Kek. Sure he is
Taiyou Matsumoto
Takehiko is definitely on par.
Kishiro
Togashi. His style is simple, yet so full of emotions and impact. Miura looks good but too convulted and messy.
looks like ONE drawings kek
Anyone who has completed their manga, or stick to a release schedule.
Thanks to Yea Forums we do not need tests for dementia, autism or retardation anymore. This is such a huge step in medicine and psychiatry, thank you HxH
New vagabond chapter never...it fucking hurts guys
Togashi has mastered all drawing styles.
AHAHAHAHHA
These threads are actually an "Yea Forums suddenly pretends to have such high standards for art that even Vagabound is trash before closing the thread and going back to reading Boruto" episode
ok this one looks absolutely stunning
Murata uses CGI for backgrounds, filling, coloring and even character modelling. His art feels empty and lacks any emotions behind it. He would not be able to match Togashi's style, that is simple yet effective.
Let alone his master paneling and composition. That's something no one in the industry can reach. Read the CA arc in the manga. That was peak Togashi, he was drawing it alone without any asssistans at the time. He only got them after the 2011 anime.
This single spread blows out the water any CGI and dishonest drawing that Murata pulls out, because they feel empty. Look at the perfection of the lines and the simple style, Togashi simply mastered the art of hatching.
yamete
>he's someone else bitch
meanwhile no one is even want you to be their bitch
>togashits keep using the same handful of pages
every time
>asssistans
I misread that as "assassins"
Because they're disingenuous fucks that don't like Togashi and just want to annoy people.

Kek. Sure he is

I too enjoy little girl bedroom saga 9: dad loves you edition
>Definitely better than Muira
Masanori Morita
Keiichi Koike
Ryoichi Ikegami
Katushiro Otomo
>As good as Muira
Tetsuo Hara
Takehiko Inoue
Goseki Kojima
Takahashi Tsutomu
Masasumi Kakizaki
This. It's just appealing to look at.
Overall Masanori Morita is my favourite even if I think Koike/Ikegami/Otomo are technically sometimes better. The amount of detail Morita put into his art in a weekly series is ridiculous, anfd he remained consistent that way throughout the length of his career.
Murata is good, but he has plateau'd since late Eyeshield 21. He should work on his compositions, and he needs to loosen up his lines.
For me, it's Otomo
Miura is peak for overall consistency and his wide array of drawing designs.
Pages like this challenge him though
Murata is good because he has consistent quality (and it really shines when he goes full power) and a generally very high bar.
Reminder that he put out like 120 pages for Elder Centipede, within a month, and with good quality at that.
Just look at that fucking water bottle.
What is a giant testicle doing in the middle of a desert?
show me your most detailed faces
This.
Already posted it but here's another.
I'd still say Miura is as good if not better than the ones you listed in better tier
The keyman guy
It's a shame that Beshari-Gurashi never got translated. I love all the detailed facial expressions throughout.
>details means it's good
LMAO
Details just means you work hard, not that you have technical skill as an artist. Miura has skill, but he is almost 80% hard work. Someone like Yas eats him alive.
Yeah its kinda awful.
Colored western artists work always beat mangaka just making pointlessly intricate black & white image.
The amount of effort to take away the relevant information from a color page is so much less.
You're also wrong. 90% of the colorists working in western comic books are literal murderers.
> 90% of the colorists working in western comic books are literal murderers.
dude what
They kill the B&W art of talented artists with horrible digital airbrush coloring.
I could argue that for anyone except for Keiichi Koike, he has him thoroughly beat. Muira himself probably wouldn't say he's better than Tetsuo Hara since he is his hero.
But one of the best western comics is also black and white/ Colour doesn't make it automatically better.
he's saying their coloring skills are so shit it ruins the image, even if the pencil and ink guys are really good
what the fuck is going on in this image?
looks amazing btw
this, i fucking hate that airbrush efect they give to comics, most of the times they just ruin a perfectly good drawing
I swear nothing makes people on Yea Forums seeth more than Murata
Togashi, not only is his writing peak, he has the artistic talent to go with it.
Grain doesn't make your drawing better.
hes only top tier in terms of dark fantasy, but when it comes to human anatomy, panelling, action dynamics, architecture and nature, hes way behind artists like Boichi, Morita, Sakamoto, Yukimura, Kakizaki or Asano
unbased and bluepilled
Koike looks like Morita doing fast sketches. good back in the old times, but surpassed by many others in recent times. he cant beat Morita.
Most faces from Ikegami look the same and have 0 expression. art is really good, but way inferior to Morita. Otomo is now a really good contender, but I would still place Morita higher.
>Keiichi Koike
My nigga
Miura does the same shit, having so much texture you can barely tell what's even happening on a page. I hate it.
This is precious, what's the Manga's name?
Jesus Christ, where do people like you are even coming form?
One theory is that it's russian AI algorithm that spouts any inane bs that repeatedly gets replies.
Lurk for two years before posting.
What a pedantic cuck you are
Is HxH. Don't read it, is shit and the good art in it is few and uncommon.
Watch the Anime instead
absolutely gorgeous!
Reminds me of pic related.
So waddyou think about Itagaki
Inoue and Murata are the only artists that can be considered near Muira for hand drawn art. These three are in a league of their own.
easily best page posted itt
That's a fair criticism. Landscape shots have always been Miura's weak point; even if they still look amazing in compared to most manga.
>human anatomy
>Boichi
No
I really like Murata's designs
>hes only top tier in terms of dark fantasy
Maybe if people like Hagiwara didn't exist, Miura's mid tier at best, mostly because he got too complacent given how he basically has the monopoly on that subgenre now since most people in japan aren't interested in it since ages, but even in terms of fantasy, he's not really all that great, he never tried to overcome his weak parts, like his almost complete inability of conveying dynamism in anything that isn't Guts fighting shit.
Strong is beautiful, that is all.
Strangely I'd feel a bit better about the world and humanity if that were really the case
then go eat shit nigger, hes is even better than Inoue when it comes to it, you idiot
guys I really like Tsutomu Nihei and Tezuka though if I had to go based on technical quality alone Otomo is the only one who verges on the same perfection of Mobius who is honestly the best comic artist who ever lived.
Cockroach
bump
My cousin
I like Shinichi Sakamoto.
Otomo is possibly the strongest contender for greatest manga artist. Most of the artists mentioned in this thread master three or four artistic elements, but Otomo mastered many. He excels at aesthetics, composition, design, backgrounds, paneling, motion, texture, energy, sense of space and emotion. All of this in his very unique style. He needs a writer/co-writer, but his art is probably the most well-rounded of any mangaka.
>Moebius
100% the greatest of all time. His creativity, artistic range and influence is unparalleled in the world of comics/manga.
>only mention of him in the thread.
How sad. Blade of the Immortal had some amazing artwork.
Togashi is way better than Miura
i love hiroaki but not for blade of the immortal.
Kawady Max
he is a very strange man, indeed.
ONE, but his art isn't better because of his skill in drawing but because of his ability to create in depth and engaging characters.
this man knows what's up.
based
I'm partial to Keiichi Koike.

Sperg-tastic post.
It's the Dark Continent. It's where the story is supposed to be headed but we'll never get there.
At what point does Bastard get good? I keep seeing these amazing pages posted but when I read it all I got was less than mediocre ecchi
It's crazy how OPM suck major dick but mp100 is actually engaging and entertaining.
Otomo and Miura are on autism level of backgorund detail.
That manga was absolutely awesome. Too bad the ending looked like it was going to be a sequel and we got nothing.
Very well put. People criticize Togashi because they are unfamiliar with the authors unconventional art style, this doesn't make him a bad artist. In fact, Togashi is able to shift between different kind of styles whenever its needed, that's what distinguishes him.
Now, let me dissect, both the art and storytelling of this very panel from chapter 352 page 19, to demonstrate why Togashi is seen as one of the best artists in the industry.
>A. The general clutter of the panel and floaty-ness of the character art shows how chaotic the setpiece is, and how Hisoka's mind is narrowing down to focus solely on Chrollo's devious tactics. As if time was slowing down for this train-of-thought.
>B. The white space behind Hisoka's head is used to show how empty of other subjects besides this battle his mind is. Narrowing down to the basics of the fight.
>C. We are then brought back to Hisoka's face, which expresses a mixture of smug surprise, and devilish determination. And swirling in front of him and as well as (seemingly) to his side is a menacing smog. Which has typically been used to communicate blood-lust in this manga.
To all those criticizing the drawings, there is much more into the art of drawing than having detailed realistic figures, you know nothing about paneling and composition.
But time is an important factor as a mangaka. It doesn't matter if you can attain the level of Miura or Inoue when it takes you four or five times as long.
>four or five times as long
user that would be years, if not decades for a single chapter. No what i mean is that any competent artist can do the same if they had the same amount of time.
Otomo took it even further when he made the movie of Akira and Steamboy.
wtf is this garbage. it looks like an unfinished sketch. how can you talk about messy art style and then post this
I notice you didn't bring up the artwork from chapter 337.
this is not even Togashi pick form.
based Hara
Please not that it was all drawn with a simple pencil and ink. No fancy photoshop, hatching, assistants, adobe after effects, filters etc. Just a simple pencil. The true essence of art.
unironically Togashi at his full power
I was wrong. Fucking based.
back when he actually enjoyed his job
Nauscaä of the Valley of the Wind was drawn with just pencil and it looks pretty great compared to that bollocks.
The 90's were a good time for us all.
Ghibli is a studio with tens of assistans working overhours with a really high budget. Togashi drew it by himself in hiw own room.
Since we are talking about western artist
Whats/a/ opinion Of juan jimenes
You all are little kids except The correct answer is Shigeru Mizuki
>Ghibli is a studio with tens of assistants
user, I was talking about the manga, not the movie.
For a shonen artist hes amazing the problem is he only reach that qualaty whe he actually give a shit
I've never read the Kitaro stuff, is it good?
>Nausicaä
>Ghibli
Pathetic Huntard.
Yes. Actually, if it takes you four or five time as long, you wouldn't have attained their level at all. Quickness comes with practice, the best comic artists always are the fastest too, look at Moebius, Otomo, Tezuka, Kirby or Franquin. It comes with the definition of the style, it's not a separate factor. It actually is a key factor for artists like moebius who drew a lot of automatic and fantasy (in the first sense of the word). Drawing isn't painting, it always has been about quickly putting down ideas, it comes from the press.
I don't really like Moebius. I love Sim and Zulli when they draw scenery porn
The manga art style is pathetic garbage and generic. The movie is the only reason why Nausicaa is remembered.
it's one of he best manga there is.
I know Naoki Urasawa isn't really brought up in these kinds of threads that often but I'd like to do that.
>recognizable style, unique
>no same-face problem despite the hundreds of characters he has drawn
Talk to me about it.
He's great.
>I don't really like Moebius
That's fine. What do you not like about him? I also like Zulli and Sim/Gerhard.
>Miura's only strength is detail, he's a very average artist.
based retard
>What do you not like about him?
Everything is ugly. Not badly drawn mind you, just ugly. Grotesque, somehow. To be fair I've only read L'Incal by him so maybe it was just the style of the book itself.
The nigga that draws Vagabond ain t that bad
Eh he's okay.
y'all mothafuckas remember Gon?
I guess not.
gOda
Although The Incal isn't one of my favorite works of his, it does have some great pages. He constantly changed his style, and sometimes (as in The Airtight Garage) he would include many different styles in the same work. But he did like drawing the grotesque.
Alright enough with the scenery porn, post cute girls.
t. Has only read Dr Stone

It is likely.

So now that he's had surgery Togashi can get back on the weekly schedule pony, right?
>Thanks to Yea Forums we do not need tests for dementia, autism or retardation anymore.

It took the Egyptians 30 years to build the Great Pyramid of Giza. We'll have to wait another decade for HxH to be completed and become a UNESCO world heritage work.
Good things come to those who wait.

At least post the manga version.

First chapter.
yeah i'd hate to see what you call advanced art in manga you fucking retard.
>what does subjective mean
pretty good but not on gustav level
Judging by this thread alone, Togashi easily wins the contest of best artist of all time.
Gustave isn't a mangaka though so why are you posting him?
Looks like League of Legends vs Dark Souls to me. And anyone who has half a brain I hope.
gustav needs more practice
user please I can't stand how dumb it is
this
Togashi's kingdom is not of this world.
The beauty of a page framed as one continuous cycle, a trick Togashi pulls off both through dramatic shading and through the natural curvature of the arena.
Oh great is better than 90% of the chicken scratch mentioned here criminally underrated,
Looks kinda like James Stokoe art.
James Stokoe doesn't do nearly enough work.
Doesn't get PAID to do nearly enough work.
I've seen him do plenty of variant covers and his Alien comic was last year, and he did respond online once saying he would make more Orc Stain if it was actually financially viable. So now all I have to do is win the lottery and basically pay him to make more.
Is this a joke? Togashi beats Miura by a landslide.
You know I've dreamed of doing that, being a millionaire who can just pay artists to draw beautiful things.
Going to get the oversized edition of Dead Orbit when it comes out.
A man who can keep a more consistent/steady release schedule for decades.
lol furry porn artist
Yes,Togashi is a joke.
The difference is that people actually constantly worked on that pyramid during that time and not sit home on their asses.
>Hothep pls we need to go push some blocks today

This design was brilliant. He is a bunch of serpentine dragons entwined to form the mucles of a giant humanoid.

The only good thing urasawa does is the manben tv series.
Itagaki is the best artist at drawing impact and action in general
Did he really once draw a fat bird with a sideways baseball cap and submit it?
>musashi stops being a farmer
>inoue also stops drawing chapters
What did they mean by this
>Ryoichi Ikegami
you got shit taste.
>Keiichi Koike
let me retract my statement
>Masanori Morita
no defenitely shit taste
>Katushiro Otomo
Ok, you nearly made it.
Peak Ryoichi Ikegami is way better than Muira though, and better than nearly everyone other than those other three.
Also literally no one thinks Morita has bad art, I'm going to assume you haven't heard of him and are trying to fit in because no one with a functioning brain and eyes can have taste that shit.
>drew
yeah, he's history now
Clearly traced suits
Tsukushi when he's not being lazy
PATHETIC
Boichi
OPM is pathetic, we know.
I'm not sure why you're so adamant on Togashi being a liar, it does seem to be true that his back is fucked. According to his assistant, his back was already hurting back then, and overall he was terribly irresponsible about his health, which resulted in what we have now.
The combiniation of brushing and pencil is really astonishing
first time I've ever seen Sun ken Rock posted on Yea Forums. Have never read it but I love how so much detail is put in to the art but the image still retains its fluidity and impact. A lot of the time when artists put in a lot of detail their art starts to look stiff and lifeless.
>first time I've ever seen Sun ken Rock posted on Yea Forums.
how new?
Lets consider another way artists can flex their powerlevel: How well drawn the hands are.
Those figures are traced. That is Dante and Virgil and the statue is of some Italian sculpture (likely of Jesus).
Even that rowing boat old geez is Caronte (Charon) from some older illlustrations.
Here's Makoto Yukimura.
It's a wood engraving though.
Hiroaki Samura
looks like a dragon ball ripoff. that was during greed island right? man that whole arc looked ass
>241 posts
>no Nihei
His style is architecture porn
I wouldn't say Ikegami is better than Miura, I liked Sanctuary but what bothered me the most was the constant sameface. After a while it just felt like the same smug face panel for panel. Ikegami falls short because there's no variety in his art.
overrated cgi shit
First manga i read just for the art.
Not that the story was bad, but not usually what i'm looking for and a bit gay for em personally, but still decent
fpbp
I thought this one was quite cool.
dosent look too bad, maybe he should get whichever assistant did this to do the rest instead of doing 10 stick figure chapters a year
isn't the point of him having shit art most of the time being that he refuses to use assistants at all?
that's why he only releases 10 or so chapters a year
Muratad pretty goof
90 % of HxH is drawn by assistants since the Elections arc. Togashi mostly does character closeups and that's about it.
a shame you cant tell what the fuck is going on in any action scene. Needs more clarity
I wish I could go back on a whiskey binge and read the first 60 chapters of Nana to Kaoru for the first time again. Those were some great nights.
Right?
I mean, Togashi's art definetely has it's charme, but the only one who beats him in regards to hiatus is Miura. Just let assistants handle it already.
On another note though, I could bet that he has more struggles of actually continuing the story in terms of plot than just drawing. I bet that's Miura's problem too.
2 hours at most, come on user
I am consistently impressed by the art in One Punch Man
my mugga
Hajime Isayama
Yea Forums trying to discuss manga art is always worth a laugh. Detail isn't anything, often it's more about what you leave out than leave in. Anyone can render something to death like Miura but there's rarely any interesting decisions or mark-making behind it, just a desire to show-off (and often distract from mediocre storytelling/composition)
I think one day it'd be nice to see more mangaka use colour or heavy blacks instead of relying on noisy crosshatching or an army of screentone assistants to render tone, but that would take too much time and god forbid someone create something on their own terms in Japan
>
>my opinion is infallible please read my blog
That picture is unironically ugly as shit and your kike reasoning for why it's true art won't matter
what's this part?
your house doesn't have a butthole?
purposefully drawn like that to contrast the detailing of the background
>kike reasoning
>unironically ugly
Next time try to use your big boy words, okay chief?
Is this from the ping pong mangaka? It's been years since I read it but I swear this looks so familiar. Great style, I like it.
Your reasoning will be some fluffy shit you repeat from art critics. It's meaningless. Post more of your hideous art to prove you're in the know. Bet you love that postmodern exhibit that's in town too, right?
Murata is impressive in both quality and quantity.
the lack of shading and detail looks so unfitting honestly
it's supposed to look like that. look at how basic saitama is drawn, as well as the entire building he's standing on. juxtaposition.
Ahem faggots, clearly the answer is Ishida Sui
If you're lucky you can count the number of chapters he releases a year on a hand. If you're unlucky it's a finger or less.
Does that sound like a good manga artist to you?
For all these manga artists that just drop off the radar constantly, what do they do? Just collect royalties off of their old works or what?
It's basic composition, the eye needs somewhere to rest amidst all that detail and it helps lead it to Saitama and not get dwarved by everything else
Yeah Taiyo Matsumoto. First page was from his pop-psychedelic sci-fi saga Number Five, and the second from his tense school drama Gogo Monster
>postmodern
Like clockwork. Hope this one doesn't trigger you too much fella
Ah, one of those rare moments when he actually tried and his skills are shown. Shame that the art throughout :Re is very inconsistent and can get really messy at times.
it squiggle so it good none of that real art just squiggle line and sadness s m a r t

Story / writing ? - yes
>Draw one panel that look good once in a while
>wow, the best!!
Lol your retarded
whats the point of judging comics purely in terms of drawing? they will never, ever match up to this stuff anyway. we should judge how good a manga is artistically by looking at how it makes use of its sequential properties.
>still pushing this meme
In the end Oda's style shines more in caricature and flow of the panels, and most people focus on how much shit the artist can put the panel, wich style of shadow they used or how realistic the image is, forgetting other aspects of art that are not bound to realism. To measure an artist "good" you also need to check what the panel tells by itself, angle for character moments, focus of subject and plain and art consistency. A comic must be able to be understood to some degree without words too, and panels must work as a whole in page and double page
Miura is great for a big chunk of Berserk for how well the great story is represented in every frame, and very few posters understand that when discussing great mangakas.
Is a great example of great manga artist and would not be a good example. As that scenario is not technically hard to draw, in context it sure may work, but is a really safe shot, average to weak in technical work, as characters are solid black, soil texture is not hard to draw, the vegetation is solid black too wich dosen't make sense when you can see bits of the trunk that texture is scratchy, and the pointillism is not technically hard used this way as it's not making a form, not to mention the closest soil texture and shadows are an aftertough, compated to this is like day and night. no matter how you paint it, is a better example as every place you is hand drawn, even the clouds.
Look at this for example stunning first panel background, jarring contrast with characters that lack any kind of shadow, only to be made more like a sticker when last panels are devoid of background, tension could be accentuated by a low angle with fat guy at forefront or viceversa but from the back of suited guy. Even creates more tension with the pose and the glass tell us of a more intense hand labor.
How to spot a good artist: Foreshortening.
Araki
Nobody mentioning the god tier artist for Made in Abyss is absolutely tragic.
I seriously hope that's not your example of better art lmao

You aren't very smart huh?
I don't like his art either, smudgy shading is ugly and he doesn't use negative space well typically. Almost as bad as DETAIL LINES EVERYWHERE. I'm also not going to cater to your fetishes.
>tfw no ninja cyberpunk city
hes great at colouring.
>no background
Are you stupid? Nobody posted in this thread can hold a candle to the brilliancy of Togashi's clean paneling & composition, let alone his top tier choreography. Let me demonstrate it with this example:
The first page shows Biscuit facing off against Binolt, a bounty hunter and serial killer. The audience to the fight, Gon & Killua, have no idea how powerful Biscuit is, and neither does the reader.
Togashi starts the page with Biscuit lifting Binolt up without effort; Biscuit’s body has almost no speed lines, emphasizing the ease with which she can lift a full grown man. Instead, all of the speed lines are focused in on Binolt’s body as it rises; he’s completely powerless to even move. The second panel emphasizes the same qualities: once again, Biscuit’s body barely moves, while Binolt’s spins at incredible speed. The final panel on the page boils the fight down to its pure essence: Biscuit, almost completely stationary while Binolt is sent exactly where she wants him.
>And then there’s the page turn
Forcing the reader to hold their expectation is one of the oldest tricks in comics, and Togashi knows it’s an evergreen technique. However, he also contrasts this new page with the former. There are speed lines everywhere, more impact lines, heavier crosshatching, and mild exaggeration in the features. The previous page is time boiled down to a few moments, milliseconds even. This page is time speeding up. Biscuit hits Binolt so hard he vomits a frankly improbable amount of blood before he even hits the ground. It’s the next three seconds of the fight boiled down to a single, action-packed panel. The middle-bottom panel is Gon and Killua, barely visible and stunned. And then Biscuit ends the page by clarifying that she wasn’t using her full strength.
In two pages, Togashi’s made a girl in a puffy umbrella skirt cooler than your favorite character, using comic techniques familiar to almost any comics reader.

Gamon Sakurai
Obata takeshi
Just to start out, though I'm a really big fan of Shirow Miwa but he doesn't into backgrounds at all sadly so too much negative space.
Togashi isn't shit when he tries despite the chicken scratch meme, but there's absolutely nothing remarkable about his art, so stop. I don't know if you're plain trolling or attempting to falseflag as a Togashi dickrider, but other than some of his panel work, he's rather mediocre, and even then people like Toriyama, Inoue and Murata himself were/are a lot better than him in just Jump magazine alone.
el pasta mon
Hara does not get enough recognition.
>for a shonen artist
Meaning what exactly? Some of the best ever on the bussiness either drew at some point or exclusively draw shonen.
Togashi's panneling and page composition literally trashes on all manga alike from shounen trash like Dragon Ball or OPM to actually good stories, the like of Berserk and Vagabond. Togashi's art may not be as detailed, but it's extremely subtle and smart. Also his fight choreography and sense of a viewer's angle is sublime.
This is now a Falco appreciation thread.
>panneling
And no, repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it true. Specially since you're babbling about battle choreography (which both Murata and Toriyama are miles better than him at) while somehow missing he's been at this for decades yet he can't draw a proper punch or kick form to save his life, and no one seems to care enough to correct him.
Kentarou Miura surpasses all of the western comic industry in terms of line art and iconic imagery, Takehiko Inoue only drew chisseled men and never created character designs as memorable as Griffith or Nosferatu Zodd.
Have you even read anything drawn by Togashi? Go check YYH if you want to see cool choreography. HxH's fights are mostly about strategy and out-smarting your opponent, but when he wants he can draw way better fight choreography with God-tier panel composition than Murata or Toriyama.
>crosshatch the shit out of it until everthing blends into each other
>omg so good
This guy
I've read most by Togashi because I generally enjoy his work and other than level E, he's pretty fond of settling conflicts with a bunch of 1v1s for a guy who still can't draw the proper posture for a freaking seiken. You're still wrong about his paneling work though, he doesn't come even close to how cinematic guys like Toriyama and Inoue can make it seem.
*most anything.
Murata has shit-tier panel composition tho.
I came here for Togashiposting and wasn't disappointed
I might agree about Inoue but Toriyama is a hack. Post an example of some "cinematic" paneling from DB.
you should see what they could do in the 1500's
Ultra Heaven has to be the shittiest attempt at psychedelia I've ever seen, even worse because the guy actually does drugs.
He's been doing nice spreads lately.
>weekly or monthly comic of 20-50 pages will never look as good as something a person spent months or years on that's a single drawing
It's possible to judge something within the context of what it is (a comic that comes out on a schedule) without comparing it to something wholly different in the same medium. This is just as retarded as people saying anime TV series don't look as good as movies.
looks like a bad enki bilal
I should get to read this
Araki is definitely in the Top tier
I still can't believe he drew this and the dragon stuff during a weekly schedule
Araki is amazing at character composition and design but not so much in other areas.
Those speedlines look messy
Keep in mind he's not drawing by himself.
So much soul in this page, lads
You're just proving my point. Your random apologies don't matter, the fact is the very medium these mangaka chose to work on limits what they're capable of in terms of draftsmanship, so why are we judging manga quality just based on that instead of looking qualities that are specific of sequential art and in fact add dimensions to it that a painting couldn't possibly have? 90% of the posts in this thread are double spreads, which in the broader context of art don't matter. A double spread gets its meaning from the fact that it is a double spread in itself, not just due to how well-drawn it is. A good example of this in action is ONE's works, which have abysmal drawing skill yet can have just as much impact if not more than a lot of manga with better artists because they work as comics.
Toshio Sako's art about 1/4 of the way into Usogui begins to become incredibly beautiful
For one Ishida only has a handful of assistants and has to draw like 16 to 18 pages a week, and secondly TG has better art than a lot of weekly series. Better than Wan Piss, BnHA, and others for sure.
How well does George compare?
Itagaki is very good at conveying the power and impact of a punch. A punch in Baki universe looks like it actually hurts.
the epitome of retarded comments
Give the biggest tricks and secrets that mangaka use.
For example: I was shocked to know that most mangaka just heavily use references for backgrounds, or sometimes outright trace them (AoT).
Mediocre action scenes.
Amen brother!!! What a talent he is!!! I've never seen cloth work so well drawn
This
>all those (You)s
God damn, how can one man make so many seethe.
That's pretty.
He's really good at what he does, and his take on boxer anatomy is really great. But he's not God-tier.

The absolute best for body mechanics, posing, and fight mechanics like footwork and conveying cadence. And the way they combine with the almost grotesque proportions and contrast is amazing.

Wrong and gay, Survival Knife is better. He literally had psychosis / mental breakdown drawing his manga and filled his entire apartment full of rubbish that his qt3.14 editor had to come in to clean his house.
Maybe not a legend like OP, but the style in this is fantastic.
Those take months to paint. This dude drew a chapter once a week
>This dude drew a chapter once a week
It only was published in a weekly magazine, but it ran for 8 years. I doubt any human being would ever able to deliver 40-50 pages of such caliber, week after week.

>I can't stand how dumb it is
Bastard was pretty much the precursor to comedic meta shonen like Gintama, the serious part of the story is there, there's crazy good battles and all but it's really all about taking the piss of other manga/anime or japanese pop culture in general.
Coupled with Hagiwara's amazing art and Dark Schneider being the closest thing to a "legal" Rance, there's many reasons why it's still one of the best selling Jump comics of all time, despite hiatuses and the fact that the manga will pretty much never get an ending.
Finally, some Takeshi Obata!
Lifeless cgi shit. 3/10 at best.
ONE is so based people forget his art is absolute garbage lol
At least he is better than me :(
i love panels like this.
I feel ashamed for thinking he might have survived that lol
