I read some of the LN's after the show ended but I'm way behind wherever it is now. Last thing I read was when Danjo and Zenki died and Sagura survives the siege of his province alone. Season 2 would have been great, at least if they compressed the catgirl temple novel into a single side episode like the cooking contest.

What I really liked about the whole deal was that it felt upbeat but still lethal. I like how the protagonist is more just leveraging knowledge about how certain historical people behaved and tactics, and how he basically chooses the girl he loves from the get-go. Everyone knows it too.

I mean even second best girl only pursues Sagara because she considers his love for Nobuna one that can only end in tragedy, so she feels her love for him is just a better ending for everyone involved.

LN's are still ongoing. It was translated up to volume 15 last year and 20 raws are out. More are probably translated by now.

This is one of those rare cases where the adaptation is much superior to the source material.

They trimmed out the fat which bettered the pacing plus made Nobuna much much more bearable than in the LN.
