Comfy SoL about a group of girls living in isolation. Hint of something darker happening behind the scenes. Melancholy mono no aware atmosphere. There was a theory that they were already dead while it was airing. Rio looked vaguely like Reki.

My absolute favorite is the scene where they get their mail and Rio tells Kureha to take the bottle of calvados to Claus as a present. On the first watch, you just take it for granted that the mail arrives and then the sergeant major is gives some mundane little task to a private, but it becomes such a powerful scene when you realize that this is Rio's way of cheering Kureha up after she, being an orphan, is the only one who didn't get any letters from anyone.
