At first that's kind of what she is - an aggressive loudmouth so clumsy that you feel bad for her. Over time, though, it becomes clear that she's more than that. It pretty effectively mirrors her relationship with Ryuuji - how he helped her at first out of something like pity but grew over time to genuinely like her.
And when I say "over time" I mean within a few episodes, so I don't know how you watched four entire episodes without finding at least one reason to care about her.
I heard about that, but it's a non-canon VN with multiple routes, and I doubt it's of the same quality. Also, it's not like I could find it to play it anyway.

I.. what? An epilogue would in no way make it more open ended. If anything, the contents of it would confirm that their feelings lasted for however long chronologically the epilogue showed. I'm glad things resolved completely instead of being open-ended, but things could have frankly been even less open ended if we were given a glimpse into their dating life. Romance doesn't end once you get together, and after rooting for them to GET together and becoming invested it's a shame to not have any payoff in seeing them BE together.
Dates, kisses, snuggling, hanging out with the crew. There's a ton I would have liked to see them do as a couple.
