Is the manga really much better than the anime? I am gonna rewatch this anime thanks to this thread anyway. I miss it.

Both are good. There are some pretty big differences between the two. You might want to at least give reading it a try.

He reach Jupiter and in the speech to Earth says that in this space race to Jupiter he almost lost ability to love people, so when he will back to Earth he want to go back to his previous work. Also in last volume we have some nice politicial games which impruve Fi character.

Is this manga largely episodic in nature where none of the chapters are really related beyond the cast?
