I have no problem with her. However I simply do not find her that interesting or engaging as a character.
I've read all mainline light novels with a smile on my face and yet I had experienced legit struggle reading through Megumin's first novel prequel spinoff thing. It was a chore finishibg that one book, honestly.
So what do you like her for? Being a cute le ekusuploshan loli is definitely not enough for you to like her so there's gotta be more, right?

I simply like her personality better than darkness and aqua. Maybe being a poor girl, not being materialistic, being full of confidence even though she is most likely wrong, enthusiastic, kind with Kazuma (specially after vol 9), somewhat mature for her age and overall a likeable character as a whole.
Don't get me wrong, the 2nd and 3rd vol of her spinoffs felt more like a chore rather than a simple read. I don't like a lot her chuuni stuff, but lately in the story she has grown quite a bit out of that phase.

Yes! That's the best out of all her spinoff volumes. Because she makes her own thief group, she becomes their leader, and it's basically her trying to boss everyone around, but mostly fails at doing so, kinda like Kazuma with the main girls.
It really goes nowhere, and it's not really brought back in the main novels, but you can see her bonding more with Iris and Kazuma, and that gives her more to her character.

And holy shit did I enjoy that mysterious chad easily dispatching multiple high-ranking knights and traumatising Mitsurugi in the princess' castle. One of my favourite moments in the series.

I want an episode in which Megumin finally confesses to Kazuma, and they start a relationship for real. Many sweet scenes pass, a montage of handholding, walking in the park, dare I say a first kiss.
Until Kazuma awakes one morning not to find himself in the mansion next to his teen sweetheart, but alone in his modern day Japan bedroom. He freezes with a sense of disbelief, eyes desperately darting around the dark scene, trying to make sense of it. In lieu of hefty stone walls are flat, cold plaster walls, gaudy posters - somewhat remeniscent of a life once lived - pinned over equally distasteful wallpaper. A cultural nuance he had almost forgotten. The dim glow of a computer monitor in the corner, displaying a moment frozen in time that seemed like hundreds of years ago; a paused video game and half finished IM conversations about some trivial topic.
As disbelief and shock turn to realization and dreadful acceptance, Kazuma becomes aware that he is crying. Tears rolling down his cheeks mark the beginning of a quiet sob, which progresses to a gut-wrenching wail. The fear that lurked in the back of his mind every night when he went to sleep in that precious mansion had finally come to call.
It was all he could do to clutch himself and sob in a futile attempt to comfort himself against the feeling that a reality he had finally come to know as happiness had been violently pulled out from beneath him, with no earthly way to return.
