"Forced drama" is one of the most common criticisms on Yea Forums. Do you think it is valid or not?
Forced drama
What decade do you think it is grandpa? No one says forced drama anymore
It is very valid. The epitome of forced drama to me is Aim for the Ace, but Kyoani shows are great modern examples.
I'm not sure you know what forced drama is. The
anime was leading to that scene from the very first episode.
Drama can be inherently bad but you really can't "force" drama.
Forced post
Domestic Kanojo this season is all the proof you need tha "forced drama" is a real and valid complaint.
The story of its is written in a way, that every X chapters authors introduces a retarded drama tweest, just because he needs to keep serealizing manga that should have been ended after first arc.
Which KyoAni shows? The only one having remotely "forced" drama was Chu2, where the whole drama did not fit the type of story it was and was out of place and unnecessary.
In all other shows, mostly the drama was genuine.
I think it's valid. Hibike S2 had a lot of forced drama for example, with the main character just casually bumping and eavesdropping on other character's melodrama just so that there could be a plot. I think Violet Evergarden had a lot of forced drama too. Every client of hers was coincidentally struck by tragedy, usually related to her own just so the story could force tears out of us. I think the best kind of drama that always comes natural is the kind of opposing ideals that have far reaching consequences. The drama in anime mostly boils down to lazy tragedies like the lost of someone or someone not liking some other person due to misunderstandings etc.
