The chances of a human being detecting a radio message that fast in their world is extremely low, so it's very likely this is a mechanized message in some way, shape, or form. The problem is how it's able to detect their broadcast and separate it from regular radio noise.

Its GPS in the sense that they can now figure out theire position due to constantly being able to pick up and find a fixed radio beacon that continuously broadcasts. So its a form of radiolocation more than gps. It allows them to determine how far they've actually traveled from the village and provides a homing beacon so they can turn around and head home if/when needed.

That spooky face is just a visual representation of the emotion the people in the boat were feeling, not what is actually sending the signal.

It's like Acid-chan. She was literally just a pool of acid, but Boichi made a full fucking character around her to represent her simultaneous beauty and danger.

The actual person that set up that signal is clearly going to be a human. Hell, they may have even fucked up the signal setup and that's why it only says "Why" and it could just be a big setup for a gag (something Boichi has also done in the past).

Repeating a message over and over at super speed is not something a human would do. Is more something a machine would do, an AI in denial over it's perfect plan failing.

got disappointed of this chapter. They did not take their time explaining of to refine oil. The just threw a page with the refineries, and wrapped it up. It all depends on how the drawing of the screaming creature is meant to be taken. Is it a literal portrayal of what's happening, or is it what the people on the boat are imagining? It could easily still be an antagonist. If they're alive, then it's someone who was able to set up not just a radio signal, but a STRONG signal, meaning they could possibly be on par with Senkuu in technical intelligence.

I think it's clearly symbolic. It's the dread they're all feeling from such an ominous message being found at sea and so strongly. But Senkuu doesn't fear it, he is embracing this new turn of events.
Next chapter will probably start with the others freaking out while Senkuu starts laughing and explains his idea of what it's all about and desire to find the source of the signal.

Or maybe it's just a machine like a reciever or a crammer.
It just means that humans are alive somewhere or were alive enought to leave some tech behind

The different faces are the best part. Everyone commented on Senkuu's rapeface, but everyone else are great too.
Sailor guy (can't remember his name, Ryugi or something?) looks like he tries his hardest to stay cool while being very startled (but not scared, respects to him).
Chrome has no fucking idea what is going on, only that something is very wrong.
Gen looks like he is about to fucking faint, what a little coward. He is that type who acts all smug, but when faced with real danger screams like a little girl.

The premise of the whole humanity petrifying is pretty damn terrifying if you think about it. It just was played pretty lightheartedly so far.

I keep waiting for any of the resuscitated characters to freak out about their whole family being kill.

Everyone has been following two charismatic leaders with nerves of steel thus far, which helps them stay sane and optimistic. But from their perspective, the end of the world happened. Without Senku and Tsukasa, some of them might've broken down in despair.

What bothers me about many anime and manga is that apparently every random person knows Morse code. Seriously, it is used so often that it makes me feel stupid for not knowing it. Especially how they can instantly catch and understand it by ear.

If you think about it, Chrome is the only person on the motorboat that likely doesn't know it. Senku and Gen know it, it's how they communicated when trying to trap Homura as Gen and Chrome traveled to give the radio to Taiju. Ryusui is a trained and experienced navigator, and likely would know it from a young age. And Ukyo used to be a sonar operator on board a submarine, and was very likely trained in it.

Because the announcement of the series said it's about Taiju's Love Story. Obviously that only applied to the first chapters and not to the series as a whole.

Well, in Dr.Stone's case Senku obviously knows it.

Gen is harder to justify whole alphabet but surely you can use morse to convey messages with assistants when doing mentalist routine.
