Naruto was NEVER about hard work beating talent, including all of part one. Sure, characters talk about the concept, but they're proven wrong at every opportunity. There's literally ONE fight in the ENTIRE SERIES where hard work beats talent, Lee's fight with Sauske before the chunin exams.

Naruto's story was still pretty bad considering that he was going through Sasuke withdrawal for a large portion of the series. I was just disgusted that Naruto cucked out to Obito (His parents killer and the reason why his life was so miserable) to the point where he said he wanted to be just like him. The Akatsuki and Madara were still cool though.

Naruto threads were always for Hinata. She was the underdog to anons on here which is why her victory was celebrated the way it was.

Nauto's obsession with sauske is more forgivable than Sakura because Naruto's compullsion was to save him from evil, not to ride his dick. His line at their fight at the valley of the end makes this much clear, "I'll break all your bones and drag you home if I have to". You could even make the argument that it's more about proving that he could save his friend then the act of actually doing it.

Naruto without Sasuke and Sakura = Naruto as a character having no motivation. Half of the villains loose their motivation as well. The plot was not great to begin with, but it will fall apart completely without them (well, mostly Sasuke).
Of course, you can think up a different plot entirely, but why make at a remake then, if it would be a completely orignal shounen?

Sasuke was unironically the best character in this series until Itachi died which caused Sasuke to go full mental. You cannot disprove it.

Sakura was not a great character, Sasuke was getting there in part 1 then went full blown silent edgelord for most of part 2.

No it wouldn't, it would have gotten more readers if anything. Sasuke and sakura are easily replaceable as most of the other characters were more likeable. If people happen to say for instance, like Sasuke's powers or something, those could have just been given to any other character, or even a random new character

The plot is not hard to fix if you remove those 2, here's how:
-keep Orochimaru as a villain but either keep him in the shadows until later when Tsunade and Jiraiya confront him or make him kidnap a hyuga instead of sasuke (probably Hinata so Neji can keep his fight against the spider dude)
-Gaara's freakout and becoming Shukaku can still happen just use another trigger instead of his fight with Sasuke
-keep the Akatsuki and Itachi, as well as the underlying Bijuu plot, this remains unchanged since Naruto was their primary target, not Sasuke anyways
-at first keep the Bijuu stuff hidden but make it clear they'll be back after Naruto
-after the first showdown against the akatsuki, have them take on a more important role and have the timeskip be about Naruto training with Jiraiya so he's able to defend himself against them, followed by the attack on the sand village
-from then on rather than hunting Sasuke Naruto goes on the hunt for the aka members, especially Itachi because of his past involvement with the leaf village, and to know wtf is going on
-from there just keep the same general layout of events minus Sasuke ones and adapt any events that need new motivations, which is fairly easy
Now Naruto has room to grow as a character while facing hardship and learning of the hidden truths of the leaf thanks to Itachi & co instead of being a moping gay retard on a quest to hug a psycho. Both manga and anime become shorter because we can skip all of sasugay's shitty edge adventures and free powerups.

Reading this was way more interesting than what we actually got in the manga instead. Fuck.

I get Sasuke, but why hate Sakura? She was terrible most of the series but had something of a redemption chapter where she got over the idea that Sasuke could be saved and had the conviction to kill him herself instead of continuing to believe a lie. It was a big deal that the autistic years-long fangirl even hated him and didn't have anything to do with him until he was beaten down like a rabid dog and stopped being an edgelord.

If there's a character to hate then it's Karin.
