How are foreigners who can speak fluent Japanese and are respectful of Japanese customs and people treated in Japan? What about half Japanese children who grow up in Japan? Are they treated kindly, or are they discriminated against no matter how well assimilated they are? I'd love to move there permanently, but I'm terrified that I or my children will be mistreated no matter how hard I try to integrate.
