DBZ

>DBZ
>291 episodes

>Naruto
>220 episodes

>One piece
>874 episodes (And counting)

What drives people to watch these shows? In the same amount of time you could watch 20 quality 12-24 length anime. Why spend so much time of a repetitive story?

there aren't 20 quality anime.

That sounds like something who watches these types of shows would say.

They just don't know any better.

>>Naruto
episodes
Uhm..

i already watched all the quality 12-24 episodes anime

If you compress OP to a humane pacing, it shrinks to 100.

for long shounen series reading the manga is better
i can read a one piece chapter in like 2 minutes

You don't have to watch all the episode, me personnaly only watch the boss fight or recommended episode from forum, Yea Forums, etc

i really don't have a patience watching a filler or unimportant episodes

And thats counting that One piece only gets good at enies Lobby. 230 episodes of boringness.

When is Conan hitting 1000 eps?

Not counting Shippuden.

OP wasn't too bad when you could just avoid fillers, nowadays every episode is a slog despite no fillers.

Still reading the manga though.

Didn't grow up with DBZ so no nostalgia goggles, pacing is terrible and story is passable at best, original DB was vastly superior.

>What drives people to watch these shows?
Their manga is still running

>nostalgia goggles
this is a myth

True kino, that's what they are.

>you could watch 20 quality 12-24 length anime
you would have to find them first
also i just like long stories i can binge
id much rather read/watch a long 8/10 story then 10 short 8/10 stories

Why did shonen anime like DragonBall and Naruto reset their episode counters after the timeskip?

More like a long 5/10 story.

>you would have to find them first
Can you not google? Finding good anime is incredibly easy.

Marketing.

you still have to watch a bunch of shit until you find something you like
then if you find a good 12 episode anime you have to start the same process over again soon enough. its not hard to find a new anime/manga
its just that if i had to choose between multiple manga/anime id choose the long one first

>this is a myth
I mean, you can say that, doesn't mean it's true.

There aren't many great anime that is longer than 52 episodes.

>/watching/ long running shounen
You'll figure it out one day OP

Once you start them, you can't stop

I actually don't know anyone that has completed DBZ that didn't grow up with it as a kid

>instead you can watch 20 quality anime shows
As if anyone on Yea Forums could make a list of quality shows up to 10.

If you did not grew up with DBZ you have no business here.

Mostly some old "classics" and the ones on the pic related

I mean, what you are asking OP is basically
>Why would you watch 50 episode Gundam show
>When there are 12 episodes of Aldnoah.Zero
Is that really a brain scratcher?

Whoa, done. So hard, took all my mental willpower.

>DBZ kiddies think they are oldfags
Jesus christ....

Calm down pedro, not everyone needs to see DBZ

DBZ kiddies are at least 16 now now, so older than the average person on Yea Forums, though Yea Forums has the older people, even several wizards, poor bastards.

It's annoying to find another good short anime once I'm done with one. Plus I don't care about the length as long as I enjoy what I'm watching.

Scale. When it comes to Dragon Ball I also like its simplicity, even if repetitive. No retarded convoluted plot with overly noisy superpowers or shitty drama, just an old fashioned establishment of the conflict and you see the heroes brawl. There are differences enough in the arcs to keep it from getting too stale. But I get why people who didn't grew up with it would find it boring.

>paprika and paranoia agent instead of tokyo godfathers

>quality anime
the weeb delusion is real

>Claymore Azumanga Ergo Proxy Hellsing Evangelion nhk usagi gits flcl
trash tier

Why wouldn’t you count Shippuden?

but enies lobby is one of the worst arcs of one piece
OP gets good at Arlong Park, so far, Alabasta and Marineford are the best OP arcs

>shonenshit
>8/10
pick one

Attached: 1545225285278.png (2518x1024, 204K)

sometimes its fun to keep up with a show every week for years

as long as it doesn't turn to shit

saved

>What drives people to watch these shows?
Mostly for that grand adventure feeling. I enjoy being able to really binge a long series with an epic scale, getting attached to the world and characters etc

Naruto is complete shit though and DBZ is unwatchable after the Namek arc

What about picking both

Because they are the only anime worth watching.

Shounenbros know that anime is only a mirror entertainment and don't delude themselves into thinking that Chinese porno cartons have any kind of depth.

they are underage or don't know better. After discovering streaming sites or fansubbers most people never touch these never ending shows again.

>Why do long-running manga have lots of episodes?

t. brainlet

Nostalgia, and most people are stupid and think what they say in their childhood/early teens is still good as an adult, a.k.a poketards, natutards, evangaylions, etc.

I don't watch long-running shows myself for a number of reasons, but i imagine the people who watch the shows the whole way might have started off when it was manageable and never gotten off the train. That seems understandable to me, especially if you're invested and want a good ending. I've kinda figured a good ending isn't coming if it goes beyond 3 or 4 seasons, but i could see people who haven't made that connection or who disagree waiting out the filler arcs for some closure to what is, or at least what once was, a series they love.

>watching shounen anime instead of just reading it
its like you enjoy wasting your time

>Watching or reading battleshounen
You're doing it wrong.

OP is pretty amazing, most others are trash

Even as kids many of us noticed how many episodes of DBZ were just people standing around talking while waiting for -thing- to happen. It was just milking for money, so all this shit.
