You'll need to at least panel line her and maybe apply some decals. It's also likely that metal won't be shiny and you'll need to paint it on alongside some other small details.

I don't think we've seen snap-built images yet. Talking out of my somewhat experienced ass, it looks like it's set up well as far as color separation goes. Also, FAGs aren't prepainted, they just come with colored plastic. There's a world of difference. "Metalic" plastic tends to look like shit, so don't expect too much from those bits, her hair will be a solid color rather than shaded, and you'll probably have to color in a few of the red and black indentations, plus the usual panel lines. Not bad overall in all likelihood, but as usual don't expect a straight build to look like the promos.

How does one shade hair with an airbrush, anyway? I tried it once and it was awful

As an example, take another kit with some fairly nifty color separation. An unpainted but capably done snapbuild is on the left, the right is the official painted promo. You should be looking at around the same level from what I'm seeing.

That's why there's options to even just do the inner lining of the shirt and leave the outside blank, to hide your powerlevel but still give you the knowledge you're wearing something cute at work. But most are still pretty powerlevel hiding themselves. My fav is probably the Raichu design.

Exactly, I don't think the Dark Advent girl will be much harder, aside from a few areas that you could possibly even do with a Sharpie. There are some other touches though: they painted the golden bits, the edges of her swords and scarf tips, there's a subtle red tint to the tips of her hair and I think they glossed up the red bits of her sword things. I don't think the part colors aren't exactly the same, either, even mentally adjusting for lighting.

You can check several guides on YouTube on how to shade in general since it's all universal. My preferred way was giving the piece a base coat in its shade color then "highlighting" the actual base color on the smooth, open areas. I'm gonna experiment with a different method next opportunity though since this requires more time and paint, but a lot less thinking.

As someone who has the ripped clothes Android 18 from Banpresto of the same line and the DBG ver of her in those clothes, the DBG is hands down a better figure.

I agree that the proportions way better on the Banpresto one, but the quality is also much worst with Banpresto/better on DBG. Once I started noticing that the paint apps were kinda shit on the Banpresto, I got the DBG one for my official representation of 18 and pretty satisfied with it. Banpresto is still good as a cheaper prize figure, but the scale is a scale for a reason.

I figure I bought recently arrived with little droplets of some liquid (paint I assume) on some sections, almost like the paint was melting off. It wasn't jizz or anything since the figure is new. What causes this and how can I fix it?

some old figures have that kind of issue(bad paintwork + need of sanding), it's more usual in bootlegs but since yours is that old is isn't uncommon at all, there is no way to fix it, next time try to search for reviews or photos before buying

yours looks like a bootleg, older Megahouse RAH DX had bad quality, they didn't use an adequate acrylic paint, so being stored in her box + high temperature ruined it, well at least they're dirt cheap.

They sent me the normal "We don't do this but we're making an exception" e-mail but otherwise I've had no problems.

Blu-ray discs for seasons 1 and 2 and the movie, plus extras, three little art books, a soundtrack CD, a big (2" x 2" rubber keychain of the K-Ons in maid outfits, five guitar picks, each with a hiragana character in "keionbu" like the keychains in the show, five pins of chibified K-Ons in swimsuits, six postcard-sized double-sided prints of official art, and a sticker set. The box itself is cardboard, but it does have four big rubber feet to make it seem more like a case. Only downside is that everything is packed inside so tightly that you have to shake the box violently to get it all out.

I'd be interested in seeing that final product up close, as well as the materials they use. That machine looks like one of the powder bed inkjet 3D printers, which print in color but with a very rough surface texture. The prints in the videos for this machine look much more smooth, though. And water-soluble supports sound fantastic.

For non-commercial/research purposes, the rest of us can take a look at at-home printers like the Anycubic Photon, the Moai, and the Form 2. The Photon drops to something like $370 on Amazon regularly, so it could make for a good intro to printing figures for a decent price.
