It's probably another case like Mob's: Reigen keeps the truth to himself because cowardice but Serizawa already knows and doesn't mind. For starters, and like Reigen himself said, he's not Serizawa's psychic teacher but his life coach and he's doing a terrific job at that, even disregarding the fact that he offered him a job at his lowest point. Secondly, it's not like he's trying to chaing Serizawa to him like Suzuki did, he's fine with letting Serizawa finish his studies and potentially move on to another line of work.

Reigen, as usual, remains convinced that without his psychic facade Serizawa wouldn't give him the time of day.

I can't find the page I'm thinking of, but remember when Serizawa exorcised that little sculpture and accidentally broke it's arm off and Reigen knew how to fix it with a few grains of rice? Serizawa and Mob are both powerful Espers who were born with their power so having powers is not impressive to them, but Reigen's "spiritual" power is overwhelming because he knows how to live in the real world as an adult.

Yes and no. Everyone keeps underestimating Mob both because he represses his powers and because his ability is to stockpile power so he isn't broadcasting his power around. Other espers could probably hide their power levels and they most likely think that's what Reigen does.

Pretty sad, Mogami was one of the arcs I was looking forwards to the most. Not for the fight scene but for the eerieness of the arc.

Everything surrounding the arc was dragged down by the sheer hype for it, even Bones themselves fell for it and went for the spectacle rather than the shit that actually made it good.

For sure the battle looked great, but it wasn't worth the loss of a well paced suffering ride without cut scenes, and personally I kind of prefered the fight in the manga: the anime version was gorgeous but it made the fight look like any other Mob curbstomp, where the manga clearly had 100% Mob fail miserably against the onslaught of spirits, only being bailed out by ???%.

As for the last part, beore anyone corrects me, I know it still technically happens like that in the anime, but the manga had 100% having his barrier straight up broken, Mob being intimidated by the bigass spirits, and the visceral dismembering that finished him of riight before ???%. Mob just plain lost in there.

Why is mob not using his powers to do good in the world? He should not try to live without them. He should use them to improve society and help people.

The thing is, Hakuyu Go did that whole episode and while he is a great action director I don't think he is in any shape or form suited to direct and storyboard such an emotionally important arc of the story. It really felt like he just wanted to get done with the suffering part as fast as possible, so that they could flex their animation muscles.
In the hands of tachikawa this episode would have been greatly different, basically like the Reigen arc.

First watch, I felt several things were off, so I gave the manga arc a reread-
They definitely dropped the ball on several fronts, and I'm not quite sure why. Bones definitely had the skill to do this justice, but they just ... didn't.
Manga version pushed Mob to the brink far more- it was examplified in several scenes.
And the anime skipped out on a bunch of Mob abuse, but they already shown before there's no problem in beating up Mob- IE the first Koyama fight.

The ultimate battle and appearance of ??? were cooler in the manga as well.
It really was a shame.

Atleast secondary were completely shilled by the sakuga and the praise was quite overwhelming. It just a damn missed opportunity to go beyond 10/10.

One whole episode is too much, the additional suffering is 5 mins tops.

The ??? Scene will look as good or decent as all the other scenes bones did. Episode 5 this season was an anomaly in terms of how the episode was created.
