Ruyki's First battle
Kengan Omega Ch.6
boi has a thick skull
DO IT!
Goddamn.
lmao "general foodstuffs"
WHERE IS MY CUTE MENTALLY ILL WHIRLY-BOY SON? WHERE IS HE? SANDRO YOU HACK
It's ok, he'll become more humble and will calm down eventually.
Dabda
Koga's going throught the stages of grief quite fast.
anger and bargaining already!
The crack will become bigger with every fight until his head explodes.
I sure hope it happens soo. I've never liked these type of characters.
nani!
Oh it's the guy with the glasses who got slapped by Raian on the bottom-right panel.
Kaneda in the bottom left panel
no-one knows the real Ohma is not here anymore, what's the point of hiding it, SANDROVICH YOU MANIAC WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING
I reckon he's wearing the hat because of that side-chapter where he got a JUST haircut
>Thinks it's Ohma
>"Our victory is guaranteed"
Shouldn't he be fearful of a loss now?
gay shit
>bruh, chill
Oh god this set up
Please don't job Gaoh
That's not the guy Kazuo's company is fighting, that's the guy that was originally going to have his fighter fight but Kazuo politely asked to let him substitute that fighter for Ryuuki. That's why Kazuo has to pay him in case they lose.
Oh wait i'm dumb, he's working with him.
>The A/C is too strong
>my nipples are poking
>it's too loud
>I wish I was in the inside hunting worms
dude got tits
>Wolf Soldier
That's a badass moniker
How powerful is his autism?
Was it autism?
Good catch!
>tiny mantitties
Gynohma?
is the scan behind? even the vol.1 tanks already at chapter 7
>IM A THE WOLF SOLDIER BOY
>Man, it's fucking cold...
I want Karla to rape me!
We got two chapters last raw dump, there should be another one after this.
I think those are counting chapter 0 as chapter 1.
Inner monologue confirms he's not lying about his origins.
Based Gun
Based typesetter
Based Liquid Ohma
Based Koga... No not that, Koga still sucks
>I heard you were dead
He's just sleeping lads, he'll be back soon when he wakes up, r-right lads?
Yeah someone said during the raw dumps that for the first volume they made a promotion that it had chapter 7 a week before it came out in the magazine, so technically next week's chapter was going to be 7 but we got it ahead of time thanks to the volume.
>50 million yen is well within our budget
He's come so far.
>there should be another one after this.
WOOSH
>literally told Ohma is "thought to be dead"
>what did he mean by "not with us anymore"???
ryuki's a bit of an idiot
>JUMPING KATA: KICKING HEAD
Got hit on the head one time too many by grampa Gaoh it seems
that's all that's been released today.
If I was HNG I'd keep within the weekly schedule for next chapter, or it'd put a big hole in the release timeline, even tho the raw is available.
Unless you guys want a repost of the raw chapter?
if u could then it would be nice, dumpanon
Im sure anons would appreciate it
>If I was HNG I'd keep within the weekly schedule for next chapter
I'm fine with this, having no chapter next week would kinda hurt.
Annnd we're off!
I'm such an enabler. If I had a modicum of selling and social skills I'd be a drugpusher.
>Hit by an ambulance.
Using the Kira Yoshikage excuse, i see.
His grandpa must be Gaoh Mukaku
Or maybe it's Kuroki?
what is this airtime? a fighting game?
But user, he really was hit by one
Since his last name is Gaoh I think it's Mukaku, and Kuroki still had that "no disciple" thing anyway.
The old Kazzy would've sweat and shit himself over something measly as 50mil.
>His grandpa must be Gaoh Mukaku
Wow, user! You're a fucking genius! Sherlock himself couldn't match up to your sheer brilliance!
Unless it was the Beard nobody would remotely have any fear if they got Ohma fighting for them.
>If I was HNG I'd keep within the weekly schedule for next chapter, or it'd put a big hole in the release timeline, even tho the raw is available.
I concur. Next week's wait would be bad since there's no chapter and quality is better than speed in this case.
I'm at the edge of my seat here.
Ok, we all can now hope that Ohma 'is no longer with us' because his injuries were too serious to keep fighting in the Kengan matches so he retired and he's living together with Karla and the Kure family, as we all will see in a sweet vanilla omake
>That typeset.
God bless Hokuto No Gun, we dont deserve them giving quality like this.
no touchy the ruyki
No worries about enabling us, Dumpanon. You´re our favorite drugpusher.
Agreed, the raw is more than enough of a appetizer for next weeks translated chapter.
>that Kazzy stare
I love when he does that
>WHAT ARE YOU PLANNING
The Gensai character page posted yesterday had him saying that, in Kengan Asura, we didn't get to see "the truth" about Genzan versus Niko. So, presumably, a lot of bullshit.
Kaneda, mah boiii!
h-he's fast!
Ryuuki shall have to become the Ashura to live up to the legacy of the brother he never knew existed and who the public does not know truly died on that day 2 years ago. The Omega shall become the Ashura with the help of the two Kengans.
Nice catch. And if there is a perfect teacher for weakling Koga, weakling Kaneda might be the guy.
>people talk about kaneda but not himuro despite being right next to him
It's just that nobody remembers Himuro's name.
such is the fate of a jobber im afraid
omnious, beautiful composing
Noooo he can't be that much stronger despite not having a single match under his belt
50 mil was like pocket change for Kenzo. I wonder what he thinks about his dad's business
Nooo. Fuck off with those raws.
He trained directly under the original Niko style user, so maybe he is.
That's the slit eye girl in bottom right panel isn't she
>Kazzy can float 50 Million Yen
Remember when that amount would have him shitting bricks?
>I'm gonna watch you closely
>Kaneda in the audience
>1 year to the purgatory rematch
Writing is on the wall.
such a nice form
Well yeah, every other fight before might have been life or death against Worms, its not the same.
Kokuro is such a cool dude. Too bad he's probably going to be the Rihito of this series.
>setting up Koga as this fucking low on the power tiers
this boy has no fucking chance
Who will be his Gensai? Will Saber-Tooth return to the series to give him some POWER.
>dark web.exe
LMAO
Can't wait for the typeset on this page, hnnngg.
I bet he no sells it
gaoma makes me remeber bruce lee slash ip man
here it is! the shadow realm!
>I'm gonna figure out that technique and steal it from you
Is no one else concerned about this? What if this is Koga's gimmick to getting stronger in a short timespan. Seeing other fighter's signature moves and copying them.
wow, illustrator really is getting better and better with depicting dynamism nad impact, I love those dark grappling palm feints against bright background at
The transformation has begun.
Straight up Malik here.
>Got it.
Koga wants to learn "The Stinger" but he can only have 4 moves, want to forget one?
Y/N
props to the anons who called it.
so basically fang again?
More like he learned how to evade it 100%
Our boy is going full Garou on picking up gimmicks.
What if Koga spends the next year just analyzing tapes
oh, it's on, now!
til next week!
Said it before but Koga really needs to get Kaneda as a sensei to maximize his analysis.
Ty vry much bby
But the copycat guy already got his shit wrecked by Sen. And Kuroki said that it's not about having techniques, it's experience and knowing when to use them that makes a person strong.
kengan asura was one of the few series where the art got better and better all the way to the end, i cant wait to see what this one is gonna give us
what DID he mean by that?
It's so hard following weekly fighting manga
Did Koga just transform into a Yu-Gi-Oh! character?
Fuck off OPMshitter.
No fandom wars allowed.
I can't handle these one week breaks anymore.
I got too spoiled by HnG daily releases.
I thought Chiba could only copy movements and not actual techniques. And they did say he could have beat Sen if he hadn't fucked up and tried to use Aikido against an Aikido expert.
Koga could actually take it a step further by copying a fighter's actual signature technique and then like mixing them together or something.
ZONE
this is going to be intresting
So, Ohma's dead is reserved information? We know the fighters in the Kengan matches know, we know many CEOs known. But it seems not everybody? And there were a lot of people in the island when Ohma went to sleep.
Kengan is such a good manga. There is suspense in every fight.
He's watching his feet the entire time. I'm guessing Nohma has some sort of gimmick going on where he can predict shit in advance based on foot placement, hence he reads the Stinger without actually knowing WHAT it is. It's been done before in other manga but it's probably relevant in this more than others.
What's Kazzy's job anyway? Man of influence?
>I'm going to fly.
>Can you keep up?
HYPE
It seems he's a "fighter broker" for the companies.
suddenly Archer
He runs a temp agency except instead of stuff like cleaning windows it's for fighters who get paid in the millions for each match.
He likely also organizes sparring partners for companies as well as scouts new independent fighters so the smaller Kengan members can get a real fighter for one fight instead of a discount one that they keep permanently.
>Legend Class Fighter
I like the respect they're putting on Ohma's name
What if some organization was cloning Ohmas and sending them to learn different fighting styles?
Yeah I think the thing was he could copy a movement but if it was something that required some kind of special conditioning he couldn't copy it. So he couldn't copy Rihito, Inaba's hair, Devil Lance type of stuff.
scout, consultant, influencer, arranger, middleman
1. Setsunas dick would explode at finding out.
2. Koga would rage hard enough to unlock SSJ and skip straight to SSJ2.
3. Kazzy would unleash his biggest WTF face yet.
Chiba can copy any technique. He just can't copy weird shit that others can do like Razor, Hair, Advance etc. He could in theory copy most of Gensai's shit but he'd lack the conditioning to use it etc.
His gimmick was really good if it got coupled with a few fights of experience but he went in balls deep against someone strong enough to replace Omori as Fang and fucked up.
interloper, scoundrel, lover, meddler, hypeman
He said he wanted to steal it for himself or something.
Pimp
Can I give another shoutout to HnG’s typesetting? This format is cool as fuck.
mastermind
Their typesetting really is amazing, we're spoiled to have such a great group working on Kengan.
So is Ryuki using the Niko style?
Yeah, that was seen two chapters before when he pushed Koga's buttons unintentionally. Seems like he is an airhead.
not to take credits away from them, but the heights and weights are like that in the raws.
I'm pretty sure one of them confirmed it in raws thread.
hello friends
there we go
Aaayyy user was right.
ADAMANTINE KATA: INDESTRUCTIBLE
>the stinger
While Ohma went to sleep during the party, few likely learned that he dis anything besides walking towards the sunset.
Alright. Let's go.
He's flying!?
First attack Ryuuki, right roundhouse.
...Huh?
It didn't land.
He aimed for the moment when Ryuuki landed, and he lost his balance.
Then, it was Kokurou's sure-win pattern.
A high-speed combination that exchanges destructive power for a greater number of strikes.
He lands a clear rush and, when his opponent has stopped, he gives them one hit with all he's got.
It's simple, which makes it a tactic difficult to adapt to and figure out.
I'm specialized in striking...
But my strikes aren't landing on this son of a bitch!
I went for him when he lost his balance...!
But he's easily, mechanically handling it!!!
He changed tactics again!?
He's not sticking to his sure-win style. If it won't work, it's on to the next attack pattern.
What's really impressive about him is how fast he switches.
Heh.
He's a kickboxer too.
He's lowered it!
He made him focus his attention low,
But his real intention was a high kick.
Savate!?
He can dodge with that timing!?
And he countered, too!
Ko...!!!
Kokorou!!!
Then, I'll do *that*.
Kokurou changed tactics again.
A right hook and then-
What was that!?
I saw it! He countered! That was a counter!
You're still on your feet? You're real tough.
You're quicker than ever, Ohmaaaaaa!!!!
He didn't follow through. He's treating me as altogether below him? That hurts...
Sorry, boss.
You were right.
Now that I've done it, I see.
His build and power are nothing compared to mine.
But...
If I fight normal, I'll probably lose.
He had the ability to calmly analyze without making any pretenses.
Kokurou's making it into the upper-class of the fighters in just over a year was in large part due to his analytic abilities.
That was right in the solar plexus...!
He's very tough.
I've gotta accept it.
Those two are way stronger than I am now.
Especially Gaou.
From where I stand, Gaou's strength is greater than Kokurou's.
...But, Kokurou has that move.
Destructive force like that can easily make up the difference. Kokurou's definitely going to use that move.
This time, I'll figure it out...
Come on... Show it to me...!
Kokurou closed the distance in a breath.
Ryuuki took a stancce for the first time since the match started.
...Okay.
This is someone I'll bet I can hit much harder.
He's not throwing strikes.
He's grabbing at me.
At this range, he wants to grab onto me before he goes down... This guy's good at taking hits.
...Okay.
I need a little range.
Alright. I'll finish it with a counter.
I'll fuck you up.
STINGER
He ended it with the stinger!!!
The legend-class can't do a thing!
That attack just changed history!!!
He got him!
The grappling was just a play to get him to take some range.
I saw it!!!
The trick...
Is really a front kick.
The stinger...
Is an killer front kick that gathers the kick's strength in Kokurou's big toe.
A kick with the power all in one point....
Becomes a blunt weapon that can break through glass bottles and crush bone.
The key is the snap past the knee.
Speed is essential to the raising of this type of front kick into a killer move.
It's been 12 years since he started learning martial arts. In order to gain new strength, he focused on his front kick. Each leg would do one thousand per day.
After 8 years, he did two thousand every day without ever missing a day.
That's how Kokurou gained...
The fastest attack: a front kick with speed exceeding even that of a jab.
Oww...
What was that? It had a delayed reaction...
WHA!?
The stinger was perfect...
How is he still standing!!!???
...You're strong.
I didn't know there were such strong people on the Outside.
I'm letting it loose.
Can you keep up?
sc answer me on dex
Man, fucking Koga.
Cropanon: to link mega folder, if I remember right you have to right click the specific folder, and there should be option to share. I was confused at first too.
>I didn't know there were such strong people on the Outside.
So between this and his inner monologue in the other chapter will people stop saying Ryuki is the evil Niko?
We can get Ohma back by summoning him as a Berserker Class!
>will people stop saying Ryuki is the evil Niko
haha as if
l-lewd!
cute
Ty user. There's also this from the previous thread
>mega.nz
let me know if i fudged up again
whats "he" gonna do when he meats this "not" Ohma?
it says that Gensai was originally going to appear on the boat with an eyepatch
it doesn't specify that he was a pirate, but he sure fucking looks it and I think that's an angle we need to consider
Sandwich planned to have a super strong karate man planned since the beginning of the tournament planning, but Gensai wasn't planned to be the winner from the beginning; also, like I said here , that there's some unknown truth about the deal with Genzan and Niko
that's about it
he likes training and hates bad jokes
Is he about to break out some Niko style hacks? Because he has used none so far. Unless Mukaku changed up the style again.
Man, he needs to fucking chill.
RIP
.
I have no idea of martial arts outside of videogames and movies, but doesnt NotOhma's style resembles vagely to chinese martial arts? Like some free form jeet kune do with all those air kicks and dancing around the foe?
>doesnt NotOhma's style resemble ... free form
Your last panel says it
Didn't lie but doesn't mean there isn't more to it. We don't know for how long he trained with this grandpa of his
It is exactly the same thing. Chiba's gimmick of copying is limited by his own physical ability and ability of observation, and I don't see Koga differing in this respect. Going by the previous chapter, Koga's got some pretty good observation skills himself, however.
The next way to differentiate himself is in the difference of their sense for battle. Like in Beard's case, knowing when to use a move in the right situation is very important.
I agree. Koga might understand how the Stinger works but unless he's doing 2000 kicks a day for years and years it's not gonna be anywhere near as effective.
Bwah!
BOBBY!!!!!
Thats ohma with memory loss from the kengan matches.
How come the translated pages are upscaled so much? It's like vaseline has been smeared all over the pages. They're much more blurry than the raws.
It worked perfectly. Thanks, Cropanon!
Ryuki fighting style looks alot like Northern Shaolin in this chapter. The strike in the picture and the ste strike with the elbow on the sternum, paired with the jumping kicks are all techniques that are exactly done like that in Northern Shaolin. I think he hides his Gaoh Jiu-Jutsu as his trump card and Northern Shaolin could be his basic style.
Oh shit that's who Koga reminded me of
inb4 Kaede enters rape namek
I like how cheerful he seems towards seeing Koga being able to make it to the match. Even his speech bubble got softer.
Just wait, they will bro it up sooner or later and if Koga wants to or not.
I count on it. Koga may act like he's got thick skull, but I bet he's a big softie on the inside.
I did it to keep the size consistent between the manga one raws and the volume raws, since the manga one raws have a higher resolution compared to the volume raws.
So what is Not-Ohma's deal gonna be?
Little brother who was raised by some evil asshole? DOES he know some form of Niko style?
Koga's such a faggot. Even early Rihito was better than him right now.
I don't like him or Ryuki either.
The boy is just a bit ambitious
Going for a whole red oni-blue oni dynamic here between him and Ryuki, I think. He'll probably improve with time, at any rate. This is pretty much the first time (aside from his encounter with Ohma all those years back) that he's been introduced to an entirely new world of big shot fighters, so he's got to be force fed all this humble pie first before he can begin on his path to improvement.
If you believe that there is nothing shady going on with this clone Ohma/Ryuuki bullshit than oh boy. You forgot that whole multiple Niko's-gonna-take-over-the-inside deal?
Far as we can tell he has direct connections to the founder of the Niko style.
You first gotta break it down to the foundation before you can rebuild it more stable, the same applies with Koga, he has the potential and now he just needs the right attitude on how he wants to improve that isnt also suicidal.
Do not underestimate Kazzys 4D chess.
Do not insult Kazzy by implying he plays in something as simple as the 4th dimension.
>Koga is the only person who could notice and dodge the stinger earlier. Even someone as stacked as Ryuki didn't
Nice. My boy is going to become the KENGAN
>koga is gonna rise out of the z tier just you watch
Yeah, that actually does reinforce that Koga's eyesight is actually pretty special, especially since he shouldn't have the battle instinct or experience needed to predict it.
There are yet layers to his masterplan i can´t even start to comprehend.
His fighting style seems nothing like Niko Style which was more based around concepts. The Niko style was a hybrid between Gaoh Jiu-jutsu and Kaiwan Karate, right? This looks nothing like Kaiwan style. It could be that Gaoh Jiu-jutsu is based around Kung fu , bc his style looks like modified kung fu(i think it could be northern Shaolin) or he hides the Gaoh style behind his flashy movements.
>The niko style was a hybrid between Gaoh Kiu-jutsu and Kaiwan Karate
They share similar techniques as the Kaiwan head helped Mukaku with adding new techniques but I think it's still a combination of many forms of martial arts
Koga is /ourguy/
I wonder if Gaoh continued to progress and change his style after the whole Niko Plan went kaput. It'd be nice if Ryuki's martial art style differed from Ohma's a bit as a consequence of that divergence.
He truly is.
I'd never thought of that, but him disappearing after the niko purge, I could see him building a new style to counteract what might have been stolen by the people responsible.
I hope he doesn't manage to enter the Purgatory matches but still is able to have memorable fights. It would be interesting to have an MC who is not the center of attention just for the sake of being the MC.
>He only beat me due to that technique and nothing else.
What a faggot.
except thats not what he said at all
Koga thinks that unless he figures out the Stinger he'll lose every time. Even without the Stinger he wasn't doing much better in the fight to think he would win anyways.
I am pretty sure he was parrying Kokuro's blows in similar way to Gensai doing it. And what he said. Niko style was based on more than just those two.
he said he'd lose everytime, meaning without the stinger he has a chance of winning which is true. Before the stinger landed they were both trading blows on each other. Of course that's just with the context of that fight but after seeing Kokuro now he acknowledges he's way stronger than him as shown here
It means that no matter how much better Koga would get, Stinger would grant Kokuro win, unless he'll figure it out.
Koga is the new Seeker, like in second (third?) part of Fist of the Seeker, where Montaro learned from various people after first losing to them in a fight.
>Looks gruff, shady and kinda mean.
>Is actually a nice and respectful guy
Shit like this is why I love this series.
He's likely sheltered as hell outside of training with his gramps.
>Its not, "Can you keep up with me?"
>Its, "You keep up with me".
We do have the advantage here that it seems that we got him and Ryuuki as the MCs possibly. Ryuuki could be the MC for the matches directly while Koga might get to fight against stuff besides of it, i think we can all agree that Purgatory is going to play dirty so there will be something for him to beat up.
Is this what he actually says?
That would imply he likes good jokes.
What'd you say are the odds Ohma's actually dead? I'd have to go with around 99,9% right now.
The author was pretty clear about him dying and didn't seem to pull any punches.
The remaining 0.1% are because we didn't get to see the body. Show us his dead body.
Hard to tell. He's definitely more kick reliant than Ohama though.
Fuck off Ryo.
I get the vibe that he uses this kungfu-ish style with niko stuff added to it to strengthen it. Flames at the end seem to indicate that he's going to use the flame kata.
Still sounds like Kaiwan had a big impact on the foundations of the Niko Style.
So do you think Koga's going to get the advance later on or just copy moves from other fighters
That depends whether Friendly Neighbourhood Tiger-Man is dead or not.
Is this supposed to be a commentary on Japanese people not being able to tell foreigners apart or something?
Nope, emphasis on how alike he and Ohma look.
koga trap card was activated
The Awakened Asura theory holds some water then, hmm...
>Making us root for the jobber instead of the fake protagonist
you're a monster
That form isn't gonna get him very far, pretty much any fighter would just grab his leg and hulk him into the floor
Oh no the CG is spreading to mangas too.
They used CG models in Asura too. They do it on purpose because it gives it that digital fight simulator look.
More like the WAAAHMBULANCE, amirite?
Koga has to improve or he's going to quickly be made irrelevant to the plot.
Whoa now, let's not put him down as a Yamcha yet.
Why is Gaoh so attractive when Ohma wasn't at all? No homo btw
OK so this is Koga's gimmick and I don't dislike it at all.
El Orhmano is here!
get thy bitch ass outta here setsuna
I agree with both. I like him being a no name mook underdog that somehow got into all this and I like that the only thing differentiating him form a no name mook canon fodder is his persistence and determination. We know he's a dabbler with a solid basis in karate, so I'm assuming he will have an eclectic style. Either way, I'd love to see how he manages to evolve and I'm excited for NOTohma too
younger, rounder face, cuter mannerism
Either way, he's definitely the kind of wreckless retard who would use it
>the whole manga will be Koga repeatedly jobbing to S tier opponents just to get that ONE win against someone important at the end
>looks like a cliche NTR faceless chad.
>is a total bro.
Kengan does it again.
i just want ohma back you guys
you will take your hot headed idiot and you'll like it.
I WANT TO BE STRONG SO BAD I DON'T WANT STUPID HYPERMOBILE JOINTS AND TENDONITIS AND LOWER BACK PAIN WHEN I SQUAT AND DEADLIFT THAT LASTS FOR DAYS I WANT TO BE A POWERFUL MARTIAL ARTIST I'M NEVER EVEN GONNA BE KOGA TIER I WANNA BE A FIGHTER IN KEGAN ASURA IRL SO BAD WHY BUT IM ALREADY 22 AND 175CM 82KG I'LL NEVER MAKE IT NOW
how do I get a karla gf
Be strong.
Is that so easy, tho? In reality, I mean.
That makes no sense. Ohma and Ryuki are both Japanese
So inverse Ohma? A bold move but I can dig it.
Tgey are Insidenese
except he still dies because he is essentially just throwing himself at a brick wall headfirst
Would it be an asspull if Koga's family is actually distant relatives with the Yamashitas but only Koga inherited kengan abilities?
Guess I'm fucked then
>a cautionary tale of the extremes that a hotheaded moron will go to for the salty runback
>at the end his sheer anger overcomes kazzy's sight and he gets a win despite all odds
>Koga has a pretty good kinetic vision, being able to "steal" movements a la Chiba
>He's gonna be trained by Yamashita "The Dragon's Eye" Kazuo
Can't fuckin' wait
>for the salty runback
He should challenge people to revenge matches in King of Fighters
By this point I mentioned this webcomic by Sandrovich several times in Kengan Omega threads, but I can see Koga being like Montaro from Fist of the Seeker. Which I recommend to read, even if most of it have to be read raw. It had characters like:
>Narushima Joji, one of Rokushiki Three, top 3 of karate school Rokushiki Kaikan, with one eye and great skill
>The Strongest Mongoloid, also one of the three, prototype of Wakatsuki, perhaps
>Wakatsuki's karate teacher, also from Rokushiki Kaikan, he was teaching there
>Teachers of Cosmo and Sekibayashi (we had flashback to after fight of the latter when he lost, during Seki's first fight in tournament). It shows how former got his scar.
>a Nak Muay, also a Kure protoplast with Release
>a Hatsumi, who was basis for Sen's character, and is likely the ninja cousin he mentioned
In later part when we're back to Mentaro, he's fighting various people and learning their tricks. One of them used something akin to Razor Edge.
that's reverse setsuna if anything
reversetsuna for short
If Narushima Joji exists/existed in Kenganverse, like some other Fist of the Seaker characters, I'd say it's generally possible. He seemed to have a keen eye.
I don't really know how people can hate Koga.
He's a shithead, sure, but isn't the whole point that there'll be character growth? You guys want all your protagonists to start out perfect?
Yes.
People hated ohma for the first 70% of the manga and now want him back, how things change.
Yeah, i get people being annoyed by him but the absolute hate is ridiculous.
I don't see why people hated Ohma either.
I haven't see any comment about anons hating Koga. It seems people who read Asura know we need to wait to see him reach his potential.
There's at least one.
He's not even irredeemably a shithead in the few chapters we've had, he very clearly treats people that aren't part of his mission for strength with tact, and already showed some growth after being beaten up my ohma. Seems like a great start to a character to me.
Wait, people hate Koga? I'd argue he's more likeable right now than Ohma was 7 chapters in. He's a cocky dickhead, sure, but at least he's got a personality beyond "Man I wanna be the strongest."
I mean okay he's basically got the same goal but Ohma was just unaware of the world kinda like Gaoh is.
Gaoh + Koga kind of make a complete Ohma, except Koga's an ass.
Is fun that Koga was actually the "background character from a gang who gets punched by MC to show his strength", and somehow we are getting a perspective from that type of secondaries who are there just to make MC show off.
...
I think there's a lot of unease about how Koga will possibly rise up the ranks while it having be satisfying to the reader. Currently the manga has set him up as incredibly F tier and that makes it very hard to root for him, because instead of coming off as the hotheaded underdog it's more like utter delusion that he's even close to this level of fighters. You almost want him to get beat up for being so incredibly in over his head.
It worries me that he actually has showed potential, and how this is going to get developed. If its follows and organic development then we are going to need to wait for him to achieve even a fair lost, more when it comes to him winning something. But if is a sudden rush of MC power, we are going to see Koga beating stronger fighters just because he somehow reached maximum state for the power of MC loth.
He definitely can grow spectacularly. Yamashita sensed the same warrior spirit in him that was embodied in Ohma, which is why he still kept him despite not letting him fight. Even Rihito never got such a promising start.
Not him
Yes, it is. Once you're in the air there's no real way to propel yourself meaning your location is as easy to predict as basically a beachball someone threw at you. Sure, you can sort of rotate, but it's not easy to change your rotation and people will see what you're up to way earlier. A flying kick doesn't have any force behind it, a bagua style circular parry (which is a fancy name for "just lift your arm bro") will catch it no matter what tricks you pull unless you manage to use the dude's arm as a springboard, which he should be able to see coming. You're in midair, after all.
Basically because "muh niko style". It wasn't so much hate for Ohma as hate for Niko wank.
based
Koga is great as a character. He isn't your run of the mill good/evil guy (only cliche: hothead but that makes him great in my opinion) He will grow. He will fight and we will grow with him.
I didn't hate Ohma, but his personality fell off when they got on the boat, and he was the least interesting fighter in most of his fights. He definitely got better again towards the end, but for the bulk of the manga he was just kinda dull.
Whats Koga's personality beyond "I wanna be number 1" while being an asshole 24/7
He is basically Deku from My Hero Academia
I wanted to say Bakugou
Yes but what I'm saying is that right now he's more engaging than Ohma was 7 chapters in.
Thats not saying much. A rubber duck had more personality than Ohma until the couple last volumes
he'll get the edge beaten out of him sooner or later
>being an asshole 24/7
>speed reading
>being a clueless criminal
>he has a generic Japanese "I owe you" mindset
>he makes a fool of himself 24/7 and is none too bright
>literally courtesy shit
You're really not helping your case
Watch as next chapter shows that Kokuro got his leg and slams him on the floor.
Silly me i didn't see that the other chapter was out already
youtube.com
Okay, fellas, I have a challenge for you. Pick a character, and post a VG song that would work as a theme for that character, and explain why. That song should also be a theme, preferably. I'll start. For Julius Reinhold, I pick MOTOR HEAD, the theme of Iron Tager of BlazBlue, my reasoning being that they are Genius Bruisers formed by science, with similar frames and emhpasis on strength over technique. The song itself has moments of calm and wild, which just sings Julius to me above all other characters.
judging by this then Raian is basically Terumi
thanks for listing things other than being an asshole, who's not helping his case again?
I'm not him though retard
doesn't matter if you're him or not my case was he isn't an asshole 24/7, but then you say i'm not helping my case by listing things that help my case...
This weight meme has to stop. 110kg at 192cm should never look like that. Fucking Dwayne Johnson weighs 118 at 1.96 and he's on steroids.
I mean the first shot is him being a criminal, the third is him being retarded and trying and failing to recover from it without looking like a complete idiot. He's not an asshole, that's not the word I'd use for him, but he's a hot-blooded idiot and those are really quite annoying at least imho
are you saying he looks too big or too small?
He is ill tempered, thick skulled and way out of his, but he is determined and didn´t got depressed over his loss right there, i can respect that attitude of his. A fish out of a small pond thrown into the sea and learning there are much bigger fish out there, it got its charm.
That's fair, personally I like hot blooded type characters but to each their own. I wasn't trying to convince him Koga is a good character just felt the need to correct a wrong criticism
youtube.com
Seki, why? Kuze is a old school guy that never backed down even once, always took on his opponent head first and had a indominatable will that is admirable, just like Seki.
>steal it from you
Called it
>A fish out of a small pond thrown into the sea and learning there are much bigger fish out there, it got its charm.
Said small fish trying to act tough instead of eating humble pie isn't charming though. It's really just his luck that he hasn't run into an Adam type character yet who would dismantle him just to show him his place, like really when he called the nigga to a back alley if the dude was even a little meaner the faggot would've ended up dead with a shattered skull instead of just a crack.
I somehow missed ch5 and thought at first we jumped straight from Koga smugly challenging the brown guy to being covered in bandages looking pissed off.
Dusting off an antique there, user.
God do I feel that. A whole week break between the build up to a fight and a fight proper is just killer
Is the ost used in the anime trailer original or from something? I'm not looking forward to it bust that track sounds nice
How in the fuck
The trick is to forget and read other manga. I know a week is pain but nothing pales to waiting for Berserk releases.
Kumeta is that you?
I'd say Raian is more like Azrael.
youtube.com
TASHIROOOOO
Let's not forget how our beloved Sekibayashi was when he was Koga's age, with true strength and dedication he will become a super cool guy.
I want to see a weaker fighter that has perfect dodging abilities because he is so terrified of his opponents that he avoids every attack on pure survival instinct.
Sounds pretty cool. How would he win?
I expect a fighter to have a reverse advance.
The heart beats so slow that everything is in slow motion and therefore they're able to dodge anything and everything, but also react faster
>How would he win?
Not sure.
The first thought that came to mind was to have it happen though clumsy accidents. Like he falls to his knees to beg for his life and ends up tripping his opponent, who lands face-first on the pavement.
>everything is in slow motion
That's Sersuna's Fallen Demon. It had nothing to do with the heart tho
Read Angel Densetsu.
This is the page that got me into Kengan, I saw it in an OTP thread in 2016 and thought it was some horror manga.
For me it was seeing this posted somewhere else.
Akoya was so fucking intense
My first exposure to KA was the Wakatsuki vs Julius fight. I'll never forget that panel of Julius ass
same for me
Man we really need to delve into the lore of this world where there are laws about what condiments you can use on your food. Think that was decided in a kengan match?
>Sounds pretty cool. How would he win?
Exhaustion? Dodging or blocking until the other dude goes down with a push is an actually valid tactic.
I'm almost certain that Adam is just being a nigger about things
>unironically liking ketchup
>eating burgers and ruining your gains
I know, I was trying to make a joke by taking it super serious and imagining a dystopian version of America but tone doesn't convey over the internet very well
> Author never intended for him to win in the first place.
This makes sense, this is how Koga is going to match the greats, he is going to steal every technique he can see until he is Chiba-PRIME.
Anyone else think Beard looks a bit like Ohma here?
I honestly thought he was going to lose in his first match. It looked like they were setting up Rihito up to be Ohma's "rival" since he was the first major fighter to really interact with him outside of battle and was kind of hanging around him from the boat onwards. I figured he'd at least win his first match and get to have a proper with Raian or something before going out.
Yeah. It's probably just me, but I have a certain sympathy for those types of 'determinator' characters - characters who never give up despite being looked down upon by everyone in the world. They have that sincerity to become strong through with their own strength that just makes it hard for me to hate them.
Sure, now Koga might just be a hotheaded dick who makes rash decisions that almost cost him his life, but the thing is I still want to see him succeed. I want to see him getting taken down a peg or two for the purpose of seeing him to grow in both character and strength. I want to see him to finally be able to achieve his dreams while having grown as a better person.
Gozo confirmed second class or below
>the beard is stronger than the actual author of the series
But where's Ohma's BF?
>Akoya was so fucking intense
I legitimately thought best boy was going to lose to that psycho. It's still probably my favorite match in the whole manga given how in the air and desperate things were, not to mention the life or death stakes.
Amen.
Akoya went down without jobbing.
Ya boi cosmo was taken to another level.
>I like winning
Only the beard could match that kind of intensity.
I bet if we all ganged up on him, we could beat koga
I'm bored, so I'm gonna post all my saved non-crossover Tsundere Beard greentexts, starting with the guys he actually fought. There's so much I have to divide it up.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but tell me how much you learned from watching my last fight.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but watch your stance, it's Catfoot not Flatfoot.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but take care with these opponents, they are armed and outnumbering us, pay attention to how I keep my guard and you do the same.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but this time keep a close eye on my opponent, watch what he does and reflect upon that.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but here is what I think you need to do to progress as a studen- uh, Freelance Martial artist.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but now that you have grown a manly beard, you have passed the final test. You are ready.
>Ichiro, I'm not your Master or anything, but I'm proud for you to inherit the Kaiwan style through methods unrelated to me. Now that you are ready, I will not teach you the hidden kata-technique of the Kaiwan Grandmasters. Instead I will be performing it over there. You are free to watch.
>Setsuna, I'm not your Master or anything, but you should not rely on improvisation in a fight. It will only lead to your defeat.
>Setsuna, I'm not your Mster or anything, but your obsession with Ohma is hindering your ability to fight, on top of being founded on a false premise.
>Setsuna, I'm not your Master or anything, but please do not try to apply the principles of the Rakshasa's Palm to your genitalia.
>Rei, I'm not your Master or anything, but you need to focus on yourself rather than a woman if you want to truly improve on your skill.
>Rei, I'm not your Master or anything, but if you want the Raishin Style to no longer focus on assassination, you'll need to work on it, instead of simply promising a woman that you won't kill anymore.
>I'MMA TOE KICK EVERYBODY FROM NOW ON!
>Kanoh, I'm not your Master or anything, but while swapping between Formless and Formed may be effective against lesser fighters, it creates an opening where you can get hit when your muscles are not flexing, leading to taking all the damage.
>Ohma, I'm not your Master or anything, but your warrior's spirit is commendable. I will honor you by beating the living shit out of you.
>Kiozan, I'm not your Master or anything, but... actually, Sekibayashi's lesson was already perfect.
>Sekibayashi, I'm not a Master or anything, but while Babadozan and Kurachi's training regime worked with you, that doesn't mean it'll work with Haruo too. He is his own person.
>Your lesson for Kiozan was perfect, however. Good job.
>Saw Paing, I'm not your Master or anything, but your use of bait and switch, while brilliant, only works once, then it becomes predictable.
>Koga, I'm not your Master or anything, but you should REALLY listen to Kazuo. He knows his shit.
>Ryuki, I'm not your Master or anything, but you should stay away from Kure Karla. If she won't rape you, she will either ask her great-grandfather, the Kure clan head, to kill you, or try to do it herself, and both of them have a good chance at it.
>Kazuo, I'm not your Fighter or anything, but you should look into getting your second son some fighting lessons. It would be a shame for your bloodline's eyes to die out with disuse.
>Kirimi, I'm not going to fight for you permanently or anything, but your world travels do not seem conductive to the success of your company. You could probably pay someone to do the wandering for you with a GoPro camera.
Koga is a cutiepie with delusions of grandeur. He's like a kid swinging his fists at professional boxers and you just can't help but egg him on.
Nah
>He's like a kid swinging his fists at professional boxers and you just can't help but egg him on.
Sometimes I legit wonder if this is some cultural thing
No, you can't help but pull him the fuck back and tell him to sit the fuck down because he's doing it in a fighting ring and trying to make everyone take him seriously and wasting everyone else's time.
Ah, shoulda mentioned, contributions accepted.
Does anyone have all the sexy pinups of the characters?
The beard is unstoppable.
He's not though he is getting beat up in alleyways
He is first class when he's at peak condition.
Right, as he deserved. Doesn't make him not obnoxious.
He fights at professional level and beats entire dojos of shitty MMA karate for fun. He may not be ready for Kengan matches, but he's good.
Just means he isn't aware of how big the world is yet, part of the charm that only comes at the cost of his own health and 30 seconds of some guys time. Character has clearly defined flaws that will no doubt get expanded on, stop looking for a gary stu.
>stop looking for a gary stu
>h-haha this guy is a shitheel who has brain problems even before getting literally kicked in the head, that means he's a well-written and interesting character
>if you don't like him you must like gary stus!!!!1!one
Kill yourself my man.
Greentexting people's argument back at them doesn't make you look very smart. The only argument you yourself have presented is that Koga has a personality trait you yourself don't like and that somehow makes him a bad character.
No, I said he has a personality trait that I dislike, and thus I dislike him for lack of any reason to like him, and I wondered if this is a cultural thing because I can't imagine why people would root for someone as seemingly obnoxious as him.
You are the one who stuffed words into my mouth. All I said is that he's obnoxious.I didn't say whether or not he's well written because it doesn't interest me to talk about that half a dozen chapters into a series. Just because a character is well written (and he isn't, yet) doesn't mean you have to like him.
We are seven chapters in. Give him room to grow sheesh
He's being an obnoxious cunt right now, which is why I'll call him an obnoxious cunt right now, and if he gets better I'll revise my judgement of him. What the fuck is the issue here? Is it a crime to dislike hotheaded idiots? I'd hoped for a more analytical, calm and professional protagonist this time.
>literally complaining that an inexperienced character in a fighting manga is seeking out fights above his powerlevel
>arguing like we're on Yea Forums
Shiggy diggy doo?
Just because everyone else does it doesn't mean you have to do it too. The bloodline and gu shit was retarded in KA but it was mostly side stuff so whatever. All we've seen so far of this dude is being ridiculously full of himself while not having the skills to pay the bills and him being butthurt about it. Why can't I dislike him?
Sounded like you would dismiss him as a character for the whole run ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What are you classifying as 'obnoxious cunt' behavior exactly?
Picking a fight with someone in an alley?
He treats most people pretty politely and when he lost he didn't take a second to bounce back and start analyzing, the boy just wants to become the best and is accelerating the process by getting smacked about by A tier opponents.
Just bring a gun
His current skill level is pathetic, there is little doubt about that, but his attitude after losing is respectable and it's not like he is jobbing infront of a large crowd who paid for a show. Just checking how sharp he currently is against some fighter in his spare time.
Points to note for Koga.
He seemed to do a move that very closely resembled one of the ULTIMATE Niko-style moves, of the Flame kata.
He managed to immediately dodge the Stinger the first time, something that even Ryuku seemed to struggle with, and seems to have it figured out by the third time he saw it.
Guy might be pretty strong.
Maybe, or he just tried to tackle the guy.
Koga should be a around this guys level or a bit better (27 Kengan matches won!).
I doubt that Kokugo could not one shot Masayasu.
He's , literally punched someone he just met in the face because he looked like some other guy he met three years ago (hint: people's looks change from three years ago) for which there is literally no excuse, has no social awareness whatsoever - proven by the fact that he just walks into dojos, beats the shit out of everyone, and then calls them weak apparently simply to be an ass, is only interested in 'being strong' and not in the academic sense but rather in the 'I just want to beat the shit out of people' sense, casually admitted to apparently being a criminal, and is otherwise offensively ignorant.
>he treats most people pretty politely
At this point I'm pretty sure he's offended more people on-screen than people he hasn't offended. Now to be fair I'm counting the introductory karate chapter but he really is only nice when he's not talking about fighting and again, him literally slugging a look-alike of a dude from three years ago and refusing to explain even when the other guy is asking what the heck this is about is not helping his case.
>just wants to become the best
It is offensive to me that a weak person wishes to become strong when he doesn't have any attitude of humility. Also the man literally trashed a fucking hospital room, destroying expensive equipment that might be needed for other patients because he couldn't deal with the fact that he wasn't actually as big of a deal as he thought. He's acting no different from Haruo when he lost a video game, except worse because at LEAST Haruo seemingly did that in the privacy of his 'home' and didn't wreck lifesaving government property.
Nah that's something else. Ohma's thing is a balance thing where he basically just buckles forward from the bottom up, making him accelerate ridiculously fast once his upper body gets dragged along forward. Koga is just doing a tackle. Him being sort-of strong was established already in chapter 1 (0?), he's not meant to be a complete shitter.
A lot of people confused him for ohma, you really can't blame the guy because his literal gimmick is being not ohma.
Then you would shoot him, not beat him.
A lot of people thought he looked like Ohma, yes. I'm not saying he doesn't look like Ohma. I'm saying that even if someone who looked like this other guy showed up you don't suddenly slug them in the face for something that happened three years ago, nor continue to try slugging the guy when he's clearly utterly befuddled and is giving you a chance to back down and explain your grievances like the adult that Koga technically is.
What makes it worse is that - from what we see at least and what we know of how Ohma acts - what happened three years ago was literally Koga's fault. Koga picked a fight with Ohma, Ohma pushed his shit in and made him feel like a pussy bitch, and Koga blames Ohma for...winning? Koga started shit, Ohma finished it, it's Koga's problem on all levels. He didn't win the fight because he was weak, he got in the fight because he was a delinquent with a 'posse' looking for trouble.
>Wakatsuki, I'm not your master of anything, but you shouldn't let your defeat agaisnt Ohma bring you down. Demonsbane is a formless technique, you really had no way of knowing how to avoid it. Nice karate btw
Wait, how did that guy use The Stinger with his shoes on?
He is wearing sandals, as seen here.
He took them off somewhere in the chapter, user. Just keep looking at his feet up to that point.
He isn't really blaming ohma for anything, he just developed a power complex after getting called out for being weak after living a cushy life at what he assumed was top of the food chain.
Irrelevant to the fact that he literally punched the nigga who had clearly been invited to the same place he'd been based on looking alike and refused to stop like he was a child throwing a temper tantrum except with low-KA level punches. If that was a normalfag he might've died on the spot.
I'm with you.
is HnG late in translating?
why is there ch.7 already?
Did he use his hand to block vision for his kick? I like that
The guy literally had a photo of ohma, that lookalike was so spot on that you really can't help but understand Koga's inferiority complex kicking in. He's a mad dog with the rawest interpretation of wanting to get stronger out there, and that's not a bad place to start for a protagonist, it's just really a matter of how they develop it.
Oh fuck off you faggot I called him obnoxious as a person you keep trying to bring it back to the impossible-to-discuss angle of protagonist quality because there's no leg to stand on
You can't realistically call someone who slugs a dude in the face upon meeting him because of a one-sided and self-inflicted inferiority complex anything but an asshat. Ohma, if that were actually Ohma, would've been just as perplexed and for good reason because even if he remembered it's been years and normally you don't punch someone you've just fucking met unless you're literally, as you said, a mad dog. I'm sorry, but when I look at people I expect to see something with the semblance of a human character, not a rabid hound off its leash. Hounds which snap and bite for reasons utterly out of your control aren't 'cute', they need to be put down.
I just enjoy the character even if I wouldn't shake hands with them, they can very clearly be abrasive and a loose cannon, but isn't it fun to see what fun trouble our little retard will end up in next?
What if guy in the cloak at the beginning of the manga is Ohma Possessed?
No, because he's a retard and he's not being played for laughs? He's our PoV character, it's like expecting me to be happy that Naruto is an idiot because he gets into more trouble that way.
Volume release had 2 chapters, but ch7 will be out in magazine proper next week. Based HnG don't want to spoil us if it means we would have a week break as a consequence.
Volume 1 release promotion is why there is 7th chapter in it, even if it's not in magazine.
I don't know man sometimes his tantrums are very clearly being made fun of. I don't expect you to be overjoyed that naruto is an idiot, just to accept that flaw of his to be part of the overarching story and themes and enjoy the ride. Protagonists don't have to be sharp, and as a PoV character he could just be a complete nobody like ohma for the first 60% of the manga and still do his job.
Or, you know, I could dislike him because I'm allowed to not like a character who's clearly characterized as an asshat.
Sure, if anything this is the kind of manga for you because you are very likely to be provided reasons to root for every single guy fighting Koga instead.
Well yes, I've read KA
I just hope that meme gu isn't the ultimate sekrit martial art. Also that we'll get some chinks that actually do things instead of jobbing. It was sort of fucked up how Nikado was actually a Jap and the wolf knot unit or whatever was a nip sekrit service, instead of just making him a chink.
Mockey got me interested in what this was through one. From there it was love on first sight when Ohma trashed the Deva.
He simply was....too strong.
The ultimate martial art is grorious Japanese karate
Same.
>Koga finds out the location of the man who won the tournament 2 years ago
>fucking dies
>Don't even know anymore on the "why" of techniques they use, unlike in Okinawan karate, so they focus on "how" like brainlets
>More for competition than self-defense
Japanese karate is watered down Okinawan karate. Even in Kengan Asura strong users of Japanese karate have some gimmicks to make it useful, like Wakatsuki's muscles and Kokuro's Stinger.
I wonder why Kazzy kept Ohma's death a secret?
A bunch of fighters knew, I doubt it was super secret knowledge
They likely never asked.
The thread is dying, so here's a martial arts fun fact: the Suffragettes had a group of thirty women referred to as Bodyguards, who were all trained in jujutsu by a Edith Garrud, who was a student of the guy who invented Bartitsu.
>Hahahaha
No. JKA/JKS (the main branches of traditional shotokan Karate in Japan, not counting stuff like Wado-ryu in this case)Karate defintley has it flaws, mainly unrealistic competion and useless self defense/bunkai that needs to be "decoded" first. It strength lies in its power develoment for technique and core strength.
What are differences between shotokan and kyokushin karate?
Well, Kyokushin was devolped as more realistic style with the goal to "conquer every martial art". Its founder , Mas Oyama a legendary Martial artist, is still known as "God fist" today bc of his powerful punch. Kyokushin training is based of the okinawan goju ryu mixed with shotokan. Kyokushin is an endurance style like muay thai, you learn to deliever landing punches and condition ing, while shotokan focuses on evasion and counter punches. It has a more realistic full contact competiton.
So, Rokushin Kaikan (and Full Contact Karate in general in the series) that Wakatsuki trained would be based on Kyokushin?
Came for karla
Stayed for gaolong
There is a high chance that this the case. Unfortunatly i havent read fist of the seeker, which contained most Karate Styles in Kengan to date, so i can only guess but i think there is high chance that it is based on Kyokushin.
That title belongs to either wrestling or bjj.
Sorry to burst your bubble but that dude is a fraud, even Steven Seagal is more credible than him.
Is she still alive?
To be fair 50 million yen is less than 500k dollars.
I know the accounts of Mas Oyama being a fraud. I tried to emphasize how well known he is in the MA community and what legends he has. I am not a big fan of him myself. But most of his students are legit and famous fighters. Kyokushin itself is a legit style (muay thai is still better, having a more brutal but realistic competiton)
Honestly, I can only think of GSP when it comes to Kyokushin.
Ever heard of Andy Hug? This guy is a legend (his muay thai bouts were bullshit but no one is perfect) and was a really really good Kickboxer. They held funreals for him in Japan after he died of cancer.
Speaking of her, she really reminds me of Matoi Tsunetsuki from SZS
Your hopes for each character's debut?
>Ichiro is more calm and wiser while sporting a beard
>Setsuna is literally Karel from Fire Emblem
>Rei becomes either ruthless assassin or an actual martial artist with peerless speed
Why's she such a freaking sub
They both have designs based on traditional Japanese dolls.
Subbing to a man like Akoya is every girl's dream.
He's retarded
I like my men insane in a way that at least makes some sense
>hurr if you're in any way related to a criminal you must die
So humanity has to die then.
Good thing Cosmo curbed him.
Hot.
cute*
I doubt he did, it's likely common knowledge but when you see the guy infront of you, or at least a serious look alike, coming from Yamashita it's hard not to think it's him because..
It's much more realistic that Kazzy just had Omha lie low and told people he was dead so he could bring him out as a real suprise ace card, as opposed to Kazzy finds and recruits an incredible fighter who looks exactly like Ohma.
>Haruo got fit
Harou is still pretty fat.
Slimmer, but closer to his "Venom-Purge" mode.
>Author never intended for him to win in the first place.
really? Who was supposed to?
Kaneda
You should, even if most of it is untranslated. At least the tournament is pretty good, and not as requiring moonspeak to comprehend it.
>I know the accounts of Mas Oyama being a fraud.
It's actually just one of his pupils, Jon Bluming, saying he was a fraud. And Dutch people are, well... a bit special. Not very honest. Bluming talks shit about anyone and everyone.
>Kyokushin itself is a legit style (muay thai is still better, having a more brutal but realistic competiton)
I hope you are kidding. Without Bas Rutten, you wouldn't even know what Muay Thai was. And let's not forget Kyokushin actually won the style vs style matches 2-1 (and the one loss was questionable at best).
>Bluming talks shit about anyone and everyone
This seems to be the case. He's just making shit up. I googled "mas oyama fraud", and people have been saying this exact thing about Bluming for at least the past 15 years in regards to the same accusations towards Oyama. Shittalking his own masters, peers, pupils, guys he's never even met.
Well, Dutch people are extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) jealous. I wrote they are not honest, but that is not quite the right way to put it on second though.
Basically, anything goes for them if they feel you are in some way better (or even think your are better) than them. It makes sense, because Oyama was this karate big shot, with an internationally acclaimed style, and also very good at selling himself. Bluming is "literally who".
Whoops, just found out Bluming died this year?
De mortiis nil nisi bene and all that.
you know what they always say: speak ill of the dead
Wasn't Koga supposed to think techniques are all bullshit and if you use them to win you're a coward?
Not even himuro believes this
>Let's not forget how our beloved Sekibayashi was when he was Koga's age
The difference is, Seki was a high schooler who entered into a gym, got his shit pushed in, and came out better for it.
Koga got shoved into a Dojo and became a little prick who still hasn't eaten that humble pie despite him admitting his mentor and peers were all cool people.
Seki became the avatar of Pro Wrestling, Koga became a faceless mook. He's got a long way to go before he can even be compared to Hell's Angel.
The main character of Fight Class 3 has this partially. Really good at dodging clean hits but shit when it comes to attacking himself. He's working on the latter part.
Seki was something else. I've never had read a good manga character who's main shtick was a pro wrestler.
Koga dodged the stinger and somehow still managed to take more damage then Ryuki
There are some people that trained under him later in the 80/90s (his last years) who said he did not had any fighting ability (videos where he is called a fraud on yt by good ol' Keyboard warriors; for example a rather unrealistic promo video of his last dvds, his performance is still heavenly critizied or the video of him were he kills the bull, there are rumors that the bull was druged) . But these accounts are mostly people on online boards, claiming to have trained under him in his last years. I am not a big fan of him bc he tried to undermine other styles in the long run, saying such things like only Kyokushin is the real deal and the rest is shit and killing Bulls for show (i know different times but even then it was rather unnecessary). Still, he formed the Martial Arts along the way and helped to promote full contact fights, allowing things like MMA to be created.
He doged the first and got his shoulder wounded. The second time he did not evade and ended up like the luxus wine bottle.
He dodged a critical hit, but he didn't dodge it entirely. As for Ryuki, well, Adamantine Style is a thing for a reason.
why didnt sandrovich draw the real stinger?
Haha that is true but serisously who would know of muay thai without Kyokushin. Kyokushin is a great style for what it is, a hardcore MA for people who want to know what Martial Arts really are. But with all due to respect for the average Joe, Muay thai is more... comprehensible? It teaches someone the basics of stand up striking and fighting in a short amount of time and allows them to dive deep into technical aspects of fighting if wished. Kyokushin takes a bit longer in that regard and the foundations combined with Kata are confusing at first. I spend 6 years with Karate and its still great. But competiton wise it can get a bit dull if it is not completely full contact (mainly the no striking the head rule). That is one of the reasons i would like to train Kudo. It seems awesome.
No, he wanted real strength instead of bullshit techniques. Legit strong techniques are fair game.
>(mainly the no striking the head rule)
Seems you attended the kind of dojo Koga would enter, shittalk, and then beat up everyone.
No, he doesn't. He says that he doesn't want anything crappy, like technique is.
>Sorry to burst your bubble but that dude is a fraud, even Steven Seagal is more credible than him.
Isn't there a video where he beats a bull with his bare hands during his American promotional tour? Though that same tour also supposedly almost killed him when other bull gored him.
Unfortunately all of Kyokushin Kaikan Main tournaments and regular sparring sessions have the rule to never strike the head, only the torso which led to the development of others full contact karate styles. Kicking to the head is allowed, Oyama wanted to prevent brain damage with the no-striking-the-head rule. Koga would visit and brawl with Dojo of Seidokan/Zendokai/Kudo/Shorinji Kempo mostly i would think in rl. Btw Zendokai is also cool.
There is also the fact that Oyama especially shittalked Ki/Chi and all styles that supposedly use it.
If I remember right strikes to the head were allowed in the first tournaments but the amount of head injuries was too high.
Oh shoot really? Thx for the info. That was new to me.
You got anything specifically indicating that he means literally no techniques at all? I think this is specifically talking about stupid techniques that are zero use in real fights
Do we know what the Volume art is, or is it the Koga drawing we had for Chapter 0?
Mangadex should have volume cover, and I think that's the same art, yes.
Kokuro intentionally stepped on Ryuuki's foot to stop him from escaping the stinger.
No, he didn't.
Not ohma is a bitch using cheap ass techniques that'll get dismantled by any good opponent, he doesn't know the first thing about true strength.
This doesn't imply that he doesn't want to use ANY technique, just not bullshit ones, gimmicks useless in fights without rulesets.
It's not even possible to disregard all technique, even simply clenching your fist will eventually develop some whether you want it to or not.
You can't seriously be trying to use that translation as an actual literal translation.
>just trust me these Japanese raws say this completely illogical thing instead
ok man
fucking child
fuck the fuck out of these fucking threads if you're not gonna take the word of someone who knows better than you do
Damn that's a lot of pent up anger over saying something stupid. The odds of you being Japanese or fluent enough to translate correctly are very slim, the risk of anyone being able to expose you on an anonymous imageboard are 0, and the chance that the writers actually meant that Koga literally wants to dismiss all technique despite having a very clear karate stance in his last fight even lower than that.
Marik?
It is outrated stated that Koga did learn traditonal Karate (possibly for many years).
I don't disagree, but remember Koga is still a very young man of around 20 and Seki is like in his 40's I think. That's more than enough time to get him to where he's picking up battered fighters and turning their lives around with the inspirational power of his spirit alone.
