OPM vs Mob Psycho 100

Which series is better and why? Liked OPM at first more but Mob Psycho overtook the series later on

Mob Anime > Mob Manga
OPM Manga > OPM Anime

OPM is literally a single gag that got run to the ground, so ONE created interesting side characters but the gag needs to keep going so it's all meaningless.

It was fresh at the beginning but now basically anything feels better at this point.

Mob Psycho is better, and this season is definite proof with the last 3 episodes easily being three of the strongest episodes of anime of the last few years. I am looking forward to the King and Fubuki arcs of One Joke Man, but the season is going to fall from there.

It's hard to say which is better because they're too different. I like MP100 for its solid story and charcter introspection and I like OPM for the jokes and seeing what Saitama and Garou are up to.

I think Mob is definitely the better series, but I think it does have OPM to thank for a lot of its exposure. I heard about MP100 through OPM and now Mob is my favorite anime period. So I'll always be grateful to OPM for introducing it to me.

>Watch Mob show
>The only good fight is when he fights the adult esper because it actually looks like they're fighting
>the episode that everyone hyped in season 2 was just a flashy light when he attacked and that was the end

>watching Mob for the fights

You must be over 18 to post here

>the most hyped part of the series was a fight
No need to get so offended over your show getting criticized. If anything that is more childish. Hell the first episode even opens up with fight to hype up the rest of the show.

not everything needs to be a fucking OP sasuga light show

I agree, I wish I could comprehend what was going on and having an actual battle instead of having a lightshow. When the show wants to look cool it ends up falling flat because it turns into OPM while pretending like he's in trouble.

Very good yes but not OP's question.
Mob Psycho is probably the legit better written and more invested of the two but OPM is more fun for me to turn my brain off and read. It still has its deeper moments but most of it is satisfying monster-of-the-day jobbing to Saitama whereas Mob Psycho is almost all strong and well written character development.

It's the same for me. It was just that OPM was focused on one joke, and never did much else with it.
MP took the same concept but gave it a really interesting direction and development.

Bones dropped the ball on the Mogami arc. In the manga, Mob was pushed further to the brink of breaking, AND the battle itself was way cooler. I highly recommend you give it a read.

Mob > OPM webcomic without MA arc
MA arc alone > Entirety of Mob

>OPM was focused on one joke
Why do people talk about something they know nothing about?

>Mob and Entirety of Mob are two different categories

OPM got killed by filler

OPM Webcomic = Mob > Murata OPM
OPM uses an overpowered main character to set up jokes.
Mob uses an overpowered main character to explore puberty.

I think Mob is better written but OPM is more of a comedy so that's ok.

Mob is better written, but I hate more of the characters than OPM. Also, ONE stopped updating OPM and focused on Mob.

teared up at the latest mob episode
i'm such a fucking loser holy shit i wish i could have connections with other humans like this but i hate actual people

Mob has a lot more endearing moments and characters. OPM has a better world and setting though.

OPM is better because I don't like drama. Mob psycho is better written as it doesn't have a redrawn filler (if compared to opm webcomic, mob psycho loses) but it isn't appealing as OPM. You can see that it didn't get the popularity opm received when opm was airing.

Mob has a better story and OPM has better action

OPM IMO

OPM is the story of a man who overcame the limits of humanity solely through willpower and who chooses to be a hero for his own reasons and nobody elses. It's a modern day Overman parable.
MP100 is the story of an autistic child who was born with godlike powers but uses his powers to enrich others and not himself solely because he feels guilty and ashamed of his natural power and built his entire worldview on the ramblings of a con artist who uses him.

I agree a little but consider their personalities. Saitama is a dull character because he was focused on improving himself. Mob Psycho is kinda a sequel where Saitama is already strong but is improving his character.

i realy fucking hate mob as a character so OPM wins

>everyone hyped in season 2
thats not the punished mob and the burning of the motherbase episode

I personally prefer OPM. Its character cast is more memorable and the world is bigger, with more plot lines.

Makai no Ossan

What do you hate about Mob? Genuinely curious.

OPM, because delicious Tatsumaki's ass.

I'll be your friend!

This was a good read.

Mob because I want to fuck Reigen more than I want to fuck Garou.

Comparing them is ridiculous, both are great at different things.

Everything is written by one, at least now we know why characters like metal bat and drive knight were not part of the invasion.

>Web comic>Murata version
Mmmmm, no

I feel like OPM is better as a concept, but Mob Psycho has more attention to detail and is where ONE's writting skills really come through.

>Mob Psycho has more attention to detail
Not by a landslide.

Not him but he is a doormat who think that you shouldn't use your talents for your benefits and the main reason he thinks that way (at least at first) is because his powers didn't give him what he wanted, the girl.

based and reigenpilled

This, its easy to like the both of them for what they do. Why be a OPM/Mobfag when you can be a ONEchad?

>posts shitty filler monster nobody cares about
Thanks for proving his point.

OPM webcomic > Makai no Ossan >>>>> shit > Mob Shitco >>>>> piss >>>>>>>>>>>>>OPM manga

OPM still has the best waifu material.

Apples and oranges

Have you not read the manga, he doesn't like using his powers because he represses them due to hating ??? and he wants to be normal. But then he accepts ???

MP100 is okay but I find OPM and Reigen better because of the adult leads.

>Tat ass
this

OPM. It has Garou.

I prefer One Punch Man as I adore Murata's art, but they're both brilliant. Mob Psycho's anime is amazing and I love OPM S1. I hope S2 of OPM isn't shit, but I won't be in sorrow if it is.

>I adore Murata's art
>posts Smurfshit

You're right, I shall not do so again in the future.

Unironically mob manga was the closest thing i saw in term of unpredictability and perfect tone shifting to hxh. I think that one is the future togashi
>lazy as hell
>draws bad

Who do you think will be on OPM's volume 19 cover?

I'm hoping it's Gyoro+Orochi, but it could end up being Child Emperor.

I'd really love Orochi with a slight grin.

Orochi on his own seems like too much of a puppet to fit a cover. Covers should be for actual characters in my opinion, and Orochi is sadly just a husk. Before that I'd rather see Rover.

Putting him with Gyoro helps with this since it fits his role as a puppet, and it also shows a character we explore a lot and see dialogue from. It would also help show Orochi's huge by putting someone else for scale.

Not really. He's afraid of using his powers (at first) because he nearly killed his brother with them and developed a complex over it. The entire show is about him getting over that. If he was fine with using his power from the start there would be no story.

Definitely in that sense. Maybe Orochi with Gyoro on his shoulder with a silhouette of Psychos as the background?

I've always wanted something like this. There's no reason the cover has to be pointing directly at Orochi's face. Another option is being from the ground, showing Gyoro up close with a sprawling Orochi in the far back.
