Season 2 when
wich sci-fi isekai would you recommend?
>sci-fi isekai
will never catch on, how are desperate otaku supposed to self insert to an MC that can't wow primitives with basic knowledge of crop rotation and simple chemistry?
By having the ancient genes needed to activate lost technology, and with that lost technology utilize their video game skills to do the plot thing.
>Not wanting magitech airships being bounced by A10s and dragon riders dog fighting F16s
Get a load of this pleb.
That can still happen by having the mc reintroduce agriculture and knowledge to primitive parts of the world being repressed by the gov.
He then makes or fixes mecha by assembling old parts.
But magic in Gate do jackshit on battle there.
>sci-fi isekai is the future
It's the past. This is the exact premise of Escaflowne.
That's the point, magic needs to implemented without easily beating down tech.
is there actually more content
There's that one manga about 10 perfect fucking percys getting isekaid, and the autistic engineer girl gets them an aluminium refinery by the end of chapter 5. Anything that isn't about the autistic engineer girl (i.e. most of it) is either "hahaha I am good at business and by that I mean bribing people" or fanservice. There's also some crossover between the first and last categories.
SCIENCE!
what is this?
Otome mob.
Like that girl in Escaflowne.
Break Blade already did the ANCIENT HUMAN GENES thing though.
Yea, and it is a thing in other series as well. Blame! has the plot revolve around finding a sample of ancient human genes. Just because an idea has been used in one series doesn't mean you can't use it in another.
Something that shits over all of Bookworm Loli’s efforts and hard work
Doctor stone, but if you gonna read try to stomach until the mc gets in a village thats where things get good
>beta pushover MC
are you trying to make me puke
>beta pushover MC
Are you the edgyanon who insisted Leon should become a murderhobo chink and kill everyone?
How do you even write an sci-fi isekai btw? The only advantage of almost allcs in a avarage isekai would be his smarts and knowing tech and things that don't exist in a medieval world, in a sci-fi isekai would be the same giving a caveman a starship fleet
By not making him build things and going the pilot/user route.
MC gets special spirit mode.
I AM SWERD
Let's have some ideas for a sci-fi isekai, I will start
>I got reincarnated as a zaku, and the year is 79
Do not
Science fiction has never really been popular, just for some renowned works.
Worse in ANIME
>BASED PIC
BASED MASTERRACE!!!
>I got reincarnated as a magic planet and now I have to beat this terraforming human space colony
write it
>I was summoned by a pacifist alien race of beautiful women with superior technology because they need a man to fight for them?!
rejected
It's the past
I wasn't trying to come up with something good, I was trying to come up with the most generic trashy option one could expect from such a thing.
Keep telling yourself that
You just need to give cheats to make the MC overpowered, make him or her the chosen one. Just look at stuff like Star Wars or Gundam and add cheats from god or whatever
Have the sci-fi setting be where the main character comes from comes from, and he comes with him the technology needed to uplift the primitives into an interstellar civilization.
Anyone that thinks isekai is the future should immediately jump into a woodchipper right now.
I don't remember any isekai via woodchipper before.
I died and get reincarnated as Kamina?!
I died and got reincarnated as a redshirt, and I have to survive and solve mysteries like who the fuck is stealing Riker's cupcakes.
Are there even any recent sci fi isekai? I remember chinese 'first girl to be able to pilot a mech' and that's about it
I got a book for you. It's good until they cross the meta wank horizon at the very end.
Old Man's War by the same author is way better though, and almost feels like an isekai the way it's set up. You even get the whole new body and powers exploring new worlds thing.
Otome Mob like these guys posted is the most recent I can recall. And even that feels like a throwback to 80's/90's scifisekai
the sci-fi aspect does feel a bit shoehorned in for now, though it may change in the future
Based Addy
It becomes the main plot burning in the background since the elven biolab, which is right about where the english TL's are right now.
I really appreciated Pursuing the Demon Lord on RR. For an attempt at winging the plot, the author pulled it off decently and even completed it.
Shit sci-fi, don't bother
oh I only read the like 3 chapters of the manga
>the anime got basically 90% the LN's style
>boogiepop anime's art style goes to shit
why
>in a sci-fi isekai would be the same giving a caveman a starship fleet
Heroic Age was a good show.
Did he ever get taller?
Knights and Magic is one of my favorite isekai adaptations for various reason, CGshit aside. I love that they shoved a lot of arcs into 12 episodes (they adapted like 5 volumes) instead of the usual lets-stretch-the-first-arc-as-much-as-we-can-wanna-know-what-happens-next-buy-the-novel-tehee you see all the time.
This kind of pacing is also good for isekaifags since they've probably read both the novel and the manga so this the third time they're seeing that story, so going fast keeps it from being boring.
It really wasn't.
Sci-fi isekai? I am posting this again
youtube.com
Here is a science fantasy story with its own science, physical laws and languages. Plus (You) are a character here.
Also Oversight is so damn op
No translation, asshole.
Also Shurelia appears there, she's a slut and homewrecker.
I'd be interested in reading it as a clash of themes. Imagine BLAME! except the MC is a normal Japanese highschooler who suddenly found himself in this dystopia future, or maybe an alternate universe, but he's there with the body of his avatar from a sword and magic MMO he plays. So MC will be the only supernatural element in the story who goes by isekai rules, while everything else plays by sci-fi rules.
Should be renamed into 'I can do nearly everything with my op AIs', it's a shit harem series with otome skin
Expecting something from that author and anons' praises was a mistake
The damn youtube link is a full translation of the story
Aside from the obvious wedding. Spoil what happens in the future arcs to me. Please.
Official Isekai style tier list:
parallel world with modern technology but just differences in social customs > Low Fantasy > High Fantasy > Sci Fi > reality, but in the past >> power gap >>> fantasy with videogame mechanics > transferred to a world like a video game > literally just stuck in a videogame/"VRMMO" and unable to log out
this is objectively correct, don't bother arguing
Where being a brutal caveman comparatively is actually an advantage compared to all the limpwristed pussies.
Just make him sell holo porns and sex toys in space
Oh don't forget "Stupid FPS Player", it's not bad either.
+Max Payne.
Second reason then
Shurelia isn't even in Ciel Nosurge iirc. She's in Ar Nosurge
It's not that Manuke FPS is bad but there's something that always puts me off about guns/futuristic weapons in isekailands, it just breaks my immersion. Maybe if they were an over-decorated old fashioned looking muskets with various drawbacks, but gunota's idea of looking tacticool while fighting knights and dungeon monsters just isn't that tnteresting to me.
I'd love to read something with the opposite gimmicks though. But sadly I don't think any exist.
Mage vs Robots/Robots > Modern army vs Dragons/Archers
Push him down and make spiritual yuri happens girl
>Break Blade
2 years of no updates, but looks like it's finally out of hiatus. There raws up to chapter 94 m.dm5.com
>CGshit aside
That was actually great tho.
youtube.com
>mc-kun stayed in the coolant vapor cloud too long and has a cold now
>liking shit and rushed adaptations
But boogiepop anime designs are faithful to LN descriptions compare to LN illustrations
FPS at least has some semblance of balance, unlike Gate or cellphone or a lot of other ones out there. There was one interesting reverse isekai with a mage girl finding herself in modern japan as part of a surprisingly common phenomenon and trying to find her place in that world, though I think it was just a 1-shot. There was also that one where a guy is about to be hit by a truck when he teleports to another world, does some shit, gets reincarnated, and after a long time finds himself back on Earth some time before he got sent in the first place, though in his new body. He sees that he's about to get hit by a truck so quickly teleports him to safety, but he realises that he forgot to specify the coordinates and that's why he got isekaid in the first place. Though there's not exactly that much "mage in modern japan" plotline.
Is it good though? I got up to the kingdom getting invaded and the queen kinda having the hots for farmer boy, and some battle using a shield/battering ram but I lost my progress somehow. The OVA's OST was pretty good, though didn't they retcon some shit about that red haired rebel dude in the captured speedymech dying? That might have been in the TV anime, the three versions are getting mixed up in my head since it's been a while.
But Boogiepop in the anime is smiling. Phantom did the style better, in basically every way.
Phantom is shit in every way.
This opinion is as subjective as it gets. What's good for me isn't necessary good for everyone. If I'm watching an isekai anime, there's a 95% chance I've read both its novel and manga, hell, in Tate no Yuusha's case it was the fourth time because I picked up the original WN back in the day too, so at the point, I'm not looking for narrative, I've had my full, I'm just looking to see certain highlights voiced and animated.
I think some directors realized this too, like in the HF movies case they figured most of the audience would've had a 70-hours worth of infodumps and they just wanted to see truck chases, not that this mentality always hits the target.
Like demolition man. He’s from a basic barbaric era while everyone is so divine and weak so his savage caveman nature will save the day and make all the women wet for mc
>I don't want a good adaptation for a series I have read
>implying hf isn’t the best fate adaption
Nigger pandering to animeonlys is retarded.
Well, "good" is subjective. I'm glad people are enjoying Slime, for example, good for them, but I'm just impatiently waiting for the war arc. Opinions, assholes and all that.
>protag's japanese highschool world is all a computer simulation
>"Sir, according to our development program protag's neural profile is stable and has developed all the qualities we require"
>"Excellent, prepare a combat body for him then run truck_kun.exe"
As expected of a retarded fate fag to only get that
It would be reasonable to manufacture Waifu in this way, but it's harder for me to imagine why a civ with this level of AI would want physical slaves for any purpose other than sex.
>mage in modern japan
Once they run out of your typical isekai setups, the gimmicks will start to expand and fuse with other genres and become its own thing, like otome. Mage in modern Japan. A character from a fantasy world isekai'd inside the futuristic FPS game's world. Many possibilities.
This must be the kind of mind that give us super shit adaptations like Hyakuren or other LN series
No, those are cheaply made advertisements and don't even follow the mentality I'm talking about. I think a good adaptation complements its source material and doesn't attempt to replace it but makes use of things exclusive to its medium and tries to highlight the cool moments in the story.
Novels to focus on explaining things as detailed as necessary. Manga to focus on storyboarding, highlighting the designs the timing of dialogue and interactions. Anime to focus on animation and voice acting. Most people who complain about adaptations not being 1:1 with their source material don't understand this, you're supposed to enjoy both not pit them against each other in a who-wore-better death match.
Isn't Gekitotsu no Hexennacht isekai as well? Technically speaking
Isn't there one where that's kind of what happened, with it all having been a morality test of sorts for a ship AI?
Is this Knights & Magic?
I still laugh at this guy asking for a mech that was just a sword with swords.
Manga is terrible though. Read LN instead
Is this the thread?
I don’t want slow as shit adaptation with 6, 7 episode per vol.
just post in all
5000 years before her birth, so she doesn't appear there.
What happened with the other one?
>Is it good though?
Nope. MC is a pushover who tries to act all tough but actually a beta. And the love interest is a cheating thot who digs her husband for him.
>You just need to give cheats to make the MC overpowered, make him or her the chosen one
So original and creative. Bravo. Super interesting
Well at least Nu have a big collection with this tag, anyone reading any of this?

Iris is old news user, pretty sure most LN fags already read it
>Read it
>Sci fi action with lewd skintight bodysuits
>protag is fun
Honestly, I chose not to read it, because once its over I'll be sorely disappointed that its over and will keep being obsessive over a fictional world not being real. And I'll read more isekai to substitute.
I like sci-fi and mechs

>sci-fi isekai
>future
Humm, let's see:
- Dunbine (1983)
- Orguss (1984)
- Rayearth (1995)
- Escaflowne (1996)
user, I have terrible news for you.
>Sci-fi chink isekai where MC has to cultivate his robot
So Final Mission?
Yeah, but the problem is reading something about somebody being isekai'ed into fiction for a fix after being disappointed that the fiction you liked is over. And its fiction.
Does count as isekai?
It's actually the real setting. The whole game setting is actually a red herring. The magical and seemingly nonsensical elements, like dungeons, elves, beastmen, and magical trees are connected to an underlying plot point about the setting. The fact more people don't question why there's still Japanese, German, and English shows they would be as clueless as Leon.
Don't forget Leon actually use strengthening magic at a scene.
Thanks for reminding me I need to read 86 volume 3 before the translations get deleted.
Any of those had a good source material or are they just anime ?
Rayearth's manga is great.
El Hazard could be considered a sci-fi isekai?
nano machines son
You should add this to reverse isekai
mangadex.org
I think it's one of the best ones, if not the best.
The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today
I did 1700 words today user and how about you?
>MC from fantasy world goes to Sci-fi world
>MC's cheat is that he can use magic
>MC's fantasy magic befuddles galaxy of sci-fi nerds
this IS an isekai thread
New chapter of Highness seems angry WHEN
or at least a translated series that's like it to hold me over
Currently researching necessary material for the novel, sir Minotaur.
>magic
Why not just go for straight sci-fi, like a space opera isekai?
>mediocre use if both genre
I want both magic and sci-fi used to their fulelst, not some half assed thing.
A bunch of mecha vs wizards that cast 10 foot explosive fireballs and lightning.
Mages earthslide a mountain up the tech's asses as the planes nuke bomb the area etc..
400 for the first draft of the prologue. Then I'll increase it with details for 2nd. Or I would've done it already if my mood wasn't stolen by a work that hits most of my buttons.
>That
>Isekai
You are asking for too much. Those that can write that well don't resort to isekai. Unless you count Nanoha as a native isekai?
I think the mages needs an magic that transform themselves into a giant.
ultraman rip off
Why go for isekai to begin with? Most of isekai doesn't have a character, or plot reason to do it
Think abolt meltrandis that casts magics instead of shooting guns.
Also Utraman fights against monsters (mechanic monsters included), not gundams or zaku kind of things.
Surely someone's made PDFs of them.
Right?
Any of this its good? I din't read any
86 is decent, as far as I know.
What type? Dochaku?
>more who the fuck is who in the raws
I don't think these kids would be sleeping soundly at night
I don't know. Maybe?
Its idea of multi dimensions kinda blurrs the difference.
I guess I'll just shift Time Travel to Time Travel & Multiple Dimensions. That'd give a place to rogue esterica too.
>Truck_Kun.exe has stopped working
>Would you like to kill the program using Truck_Kun.exe ?
Smartphone has something like that, the MC casts meteor spells and portal magic to support his mech army like a fantasy combined arms and some of the mecha even have their own spells that run on the pilot's magic.
I haven't seen anyone do it yet. Not that many people read 86 past vol 1 from what I see.
Just give her enough time to learn.
>sci-fi isekai is the past
fixed. You were born too late, zoomer. Too late to experience the isekai scifi in the past.
Speaking of pdf, someone made Last boss PDFs with LN illustrations
mega.nz

Try checking the usual places
nice
thanks user
Fuck yeah.
They're mediocre boomer, i want more action and less drama pretending to be deep.
>clockwork planet
Which one is the best to start with? Novel, manga, or anime
It's as simple as giving them qualities that are difficult to replicate in artificial designs.
You can stamp an allegiance into an AI, but can you give it a concept of honor?
Motivation is easy, and so is problem solving, but how to do you emulate ennui to trigger inspiration and innovation?
Aggression is trivial, as is caution; but to synthesize the two into the paradoxes of cunning and ferocity.
War is a solved problem in this age. If you want to win, you have to pull your enemies out of their ivory tower and drag them into a cruder game they're unused to playing.
Scifi fantasy already existed since the 80s anime. It's just you millenial fags need self insert harems and rpg MCs because your teenage life sucks and can't ever get your dick into some pussy.
EPIC now tell me how many 80's anime you've watched.
Not him, nor the the other one you are refering to, but I had to drop the series at the beginning of vol. 2.
I mean what exactly was Leon aiming for that he "endures" all the shit thrown at him? He does all that for the absolutely unrealistic prospect of getting a marriage partner that:
- Doesn't have his step-mother's (or similar) parasitic personality
- Is within the exact range of noble status that they can be married to each other
- Actually wants Leon as a marriage partner, at worst reluctantly
- Isn't taken yet by anyone else
I mean seriously, does he gamble everything and let himself get trampled continuously just for the little chance this might happen, when he already checked that such candidates likely didn't exist? I don't get it. The author didn't write Leon as someone so delusional, so I can only think of this as inconsistent writing to force the author's intended plot through. It would be different if the author at least showed that Leon has a realistic chance of success, but that's completely missing.
seems to be some japanese trope or something, luxon in the epilogue can't stop talking about how leon is causing all his problems and if he really wanted no problems luxon could literally destroy anything in the world for him
Dr. Stone is not isekai. It's time-traveling like Futurama.
That just confirms my stance to drop it. I turned to isekai to escape these shitty tropes, so there is no point if a series keeps following them.
Not him, but I don't make a big deal about technicalities, most anons use these as a LN thread or fantasy general anyway
Where would you put litRPG?
So in other words it's Sid Meyer's Alpha Centauri, but with the player playing as the planet?
Because they never learn and don't want to. And such filthy generalization can cause a lot of stupid shit.
trash
What is even litRPG?
western name for rpg elements
what shitposters refer to as native isekai
So, narou isekai?
wat
you are just trying to bait somebody into posting narou isekai stallman, aren't you?
Think any game/ttrpg campaign log but generously edited for better story telling flow.
Every time I see how easily these third rate shitty isekais hand weave actually creating something, I feel glad I have the good taste to read only good shit like Maine.
Ah, so not necessarily isekai.
Legit question, tho.
By the way, Christina (the siscon) is finished. Man, that sure as hell one rushed ending, I hope the LN would give us more.
That's the world of adults. You endure shit because you have to. It's obligation and responsibility. If he doesn't deal with it, someone else in his family will. And in the end, despite all his troubles, he enjoys his time with Olivia and Angie, learning wisdom from his tea master, and generally pissing people off. Also, even though he takes abuse, he always plans on dishing it out later.
Is this show good? Trainwreck wise.
No, it’s solid despite the fast pacing.
>finished
Not yet, WN has one more after-story.
OKay. SO we have a setting modeled on school, and the students use VR Gear to enter various "game" scenarios, mostly of their own choosing, offering a variety of different challenge types. But the students, unbeknownst to themselves, are actually AI in a virtual world to begin with, and are being trained for life in the Real as OS for an android or bioroid (biological person with an artificial mind). This is being done because biological reproduction is too costly for the number of usable qwality units it produces. What could go worng?
how long until jnc catches up to what was translated?
I dropped off isekai for a few months. Did I Favor the Villainess really go full rich people are inherently evil we need to redistribute the wealth or is it still wacky lesbianism?
I put that on hold when she started to self destruct and act out the villainess role. How does it turn out in the end?
>Yoo Yeonha lost consciousness the moment she saw Kim Hajin. Kim Hajin, of course, had no idea why, and he infused Stigma’s magic power into Yoo Yeonha once more. Yoo Yeonha woke up, saw Kim Hajin, then fell unconscious again. Kim Hajin then infused Stigma’s magic power into her again…. After repeating this about five times.
Hajin needs to reboot that booty.
The whole "being a villainess/academy" arc is insanely rushed. There are potential plot points that are ignored, and the end do left open quite a bit for it to be elaborated more in the LN. I didn't know there was an after story though
>Kim Hajin stared at her blankly. He still couldn’t understand this comedic situation. So, he watched Yoo Yeonha make a fool out of herself for 2~3 minutes, then…
>Chap—
>He slapped her cheek lightly.
rude
holy trips!!!
>Her arms squeezed Kim Hajin and her face buried itself in his chest. It was a hug powerful enough to save the world.
hnnnngggg
kek
the bullying never stops!
>She remained motionless, like trying to compute all the possible solutions to a problem, then CHAP— she slapped her face strongly.
She put enough strength in her hands to shake the room, and her eyebrows twitched at the pain.
“Auuu, it hurts….”
hahahahahaha
Man I thought JNC picked up Maine's novel. I don't know, I never actually read their manga release. But from what I read they are planning to release two chapters per month. So 10 months or so?
Neither of them really, the revolution is presented as a simple power grab more than anything. For now the focus is on Claire surviving it.
Also, it's getting LN.
>“…You still like Nayun that much?”
“Huh?”
I stared at Yoo Yeonha, bewildered by the sudden question. She had a somewhat bitter smile on her face.
“I didn’t take you to be such a romantic. But don’t worry, Nayun is a lot stronger than you think.”
bitch make your shit up!
They already released four chapters so eight months actually.
But it makes no sense. Because of "plot" he will likely get out of it well enough, but without that he'd likely graduate without any results and his younger sibling would STILL have to take up the burden in the end. He pretty much failed at what he was doing, if it wasn't for MUH PLOT.
>“Your necktie is loose.”
>She stood in front of me and placed her hands on my tie. She unfastened it, then tied it once again.
“….”
>Meanwhile, I stood still. The scent of her hair made me feel weird.
As the tie slowly formed a knot…
>Tak—
>Something heavy fell on my chest. I glanced down. Yoo Yeonha had placed her forehead on my chest in the middle of tying my tie.
Soon, a cold voice left her mouth.
>“…Stay.”
So is she turning into a yandere?
ohhh....oh my....ohhhhhhh myyyyy
Clockwork is pretty damn boring desu. I haven't read 86, but I've been hearing a lot about it, them nips seems to like it a lot.
>Kim Suho eventually forced himself up and breathed heavily while covered in blood and sweat.
>When he turned around while feeling a strange gaze on him…
>“K-Kuhum.”
>He saw the Witch staring at him.
Witch is for lewd only.
>Emergency report! African monsters are marching northward.
shieeeeeeeeet!!!
>“I just went to have a look. That is our next destination, [The Mobile Capital Blutgang].”
Based dwarf made a moving fortress into capital city
She's got a link to his vital signs via his new smartwatch already. Give it a year or two before she's tracking his location and listening in to his every conversation.
kek
Sounds like buttgang.
awfully gay.
>jonghak desperately trying to assert he's still suho's rival
>He was currently entrapped in the ‘3rd Wall’, something that was neither a barrier nor a spell.
>This strange ability was part of a new Gift Jin Sahyuk awakened called [Reality Manipulation].
Raising the power levels are we now?Bet she still can't beat Hajin.
Does she lewd herself with his vital signs?
Can't beat the cock, man.
It's the sword of Háma, Blood Fetcher in English. I remember that from GBF.
If only.It was mentioned when Yeonha stopped Nayun from going to Africa after Orden announced that he had the hero team captured.
>Háma
the Tolkien character?
oh..I see.
>“Apparently, in the case of emergency, it’s able to transform into a humanoid form, it seems it’s even possible to trade punches with an enemy.”
Now that's one well made city
No, the one from Beowulf and Widsith. Last boss author used Norse weapon names for the cities.
ahh, thanks gonna read it now after downloading it.
Well, the game was said to have a lot of customization. Some countries even had space colony theme to them.
Personally, I'd make a mecha musume country.
It makes no sense? The issue is obligation. Leon is a noble. He has his own obligations now, one of which is finding a wife. This is the burden of society and of being an adult. His younger brother doesn't have to take up the noble's burden because that's what the oldest brother was doing. And because of Leon's position, he is able to prevent what was going to happen to him happen to Colin.
>Then suddenly, she shouted as though she’d just remembered something important.
>“When you go back to the Tower, do NOT look at the messages I sent you! If you do, our relationship is ov—"
I wonder what she sent Hajin.
Yeonha is an international treasure.
confessions?
She probably sent "I miss you" messages on him, knowing full well he was dead. Oh my god so cheesy, so cute.
Only if he succceeded. In other words, if his school life had continued normally, based on how the situation was protrayed, Leon would ultimately not be able to find a wife that met all the aforementioned conditions. And if he failed, then Colin would be forced to do it anyway. If it wasn't for the "special events" caused by the other reincarnator (i.e. something he wouldn't be able to predict) happening around him he would fail. That's how the series portrayed it. So what was Leon hoping for, exactly?
>To a confused Virgo, Libra explained: “That thing is a male.”
Harsh
> Strangely, even though Libra had no emotion, she seemed proud of this.
>“Blutgang is like a little brother to me.”
That's surprising, Libra is a daddy girl. Also wouldn't that make her pretty much Ruphas's daughter?
That one book you read as a kid was an isekai all along.
Colin would not be forced to do it because Leon had the influence and power to stop it. As for what Leon was hoping for, well it was to find a wife wasn't it? To fulfill his obligation. You're arguing the results rather than the reason. Putting the cart before the horse.
I can't wait to see Super Dimension Fortress Blutgang in manga form.
A college student gets reincarnated as a college student, but its a different college from downtown.
The series portrayed it like all the good candidates were already gone and that it was a hopeless situation. Without a wife he would not have the "power and influence" to do that. And if he tried to "take the bullet" and get one of the parasitic ones as his wife, she'd probably still force Colin to find a wife to broaden her influence and the connections of the family and Leon would have no choice but to oblige because MUH Matriarchy.
Leon should be aware of the situation yet he still followed this hopeless path anyway instead of trying to work on a different approach while he still had plenty of time to do so.
EXA_PICO was great. I crave for more, and yet I fear that will never happen, or Gust will fuck it up completely.
Then again, I don't have the highest opinion of Atelier, so perhaps it's this series that is an outlier in the first place.
I felt like shit trying to stop him. I wonder why (you) absolutely had to refuse him have his body. Even if (you) were worrying for Ion, (you) could at least communicate that.
Maybe it was some kind of inbuilt self-preservation mechanism. In the end, (you) do always only pick from available options, (you) don't have true free will in there.
>2 hours later. I sat face-to-face with Yoo Yeonha. Her face was still hot with embarrassment. I could probably fry an egg on her face…
Yeonha too cute.
I hope she doesn't delude herself into continuing to ship NayunxHajin because of some totally unconfirmed headcanon about his "returner" past. She should focus her imagination on how he got to know all her secrets instead.
Didn't this shit used to be the standard back in the 90s?
Have we gone full circle?
A Japanese girl graduates high school and is drunk-raped at her graduation party; she awakens as a completely different person who has just graduated middle school. Every time she has sex, she Quantum Leaps into a different schoolgirl.
i'll read it
as long as it doesn't turn to shit like jk haru
>Then again, I don't have the highest opinion of Atelier, so perhaps it's this series that is an outlier in the first place.
That's because Tsuchiya is mainly an Atelier music composer, he doesn't get to write and be a game director that often. But when he does, we get something amazing
And Maine couldn't achieve that in multiple years while Senku has already fucking electricity
Sauce?
Because he had time for the hopeless approach. Not only that, but his own influence over his own family became much higher since he was wealthier and had a higher title. In the end, if things really got bad, he could book it. But things hadn't gotten so bad and despite his complaints he enjoys his school life. Plus he knew a war was coming, though that probably didn't go into his calculations.
I miss EXA_PICO too. I really like that verse.
It's Ar nosurge. This is the prequel to that, Ciel nosurge.

>Since there were way too many eyes watching here, Agnes pretended to have not noticed him. Her silent indifference seemingly resulted in Seol Ji-Hu receiving a powerful punch to his guts. He dazedly stared at her with blurry eyes for a while, before his hand powerlessly faltered to his side. Way past looking sad now, he even looked as if he was wallowing in the pits of despair and dejection.
I imagined this scene as one of those anime ones but then I remember Seol's family problems and it got really heavy. Fuck, I really feel bad for Seol.
Just make it ANCIENT TECHNOLOGY like Break Blade.
(You) wasn't the same (You) because there was no Ciel Nosurge save file sadly
>“In any case, it’s a way forward, which helps. Thanks, mom.” (Seol Ji-Hu)
>– “Don’t worry about it. If something else comes up…. Hey, what did you just call me?” (Kim Hahn-Nah)
>Seol Ji-Hu quickly ended the communication right there. The crystal’s radiance dimmed but then, only a second later, it began glowing again. He simply giggled to himself and stepped outside Carpe Diem’s office.
Yes user, Ion is not your waifu because the link got removed from the localized version
It was awkward when I realized it
Isekai'ed into a sci fi world that has wars between piloted mechs and remote controlled mechs.
As a girl genius engineer that can't pilot a mech because her breasts are too big, the protag decides to create a mech she can pilot. And absolutely rejects the remote controlled mechs. because she wants to fly by herself.
First she struggles to rethink the concepts of a mech to create miniaturized parts that will allow her to fight. then, after some mishaps, she creates a skintight bodysuit and continues to upgrade her suit, but never manages to cover her breasts, so plenty of embrassment afoot.

I have only a couple of fanfics and a cyoa under my belt, man. And most of the fanfics were done years ago. Not that I don't want to, but aren't you asking too much?
mine is a fantasy world being invaded by demons from space. protagonist is able to use magic and technology
I could have sworn you get the voice mail if you get true end from the game.
Reminder that they went so much deeper into the lore of Arland in the setting book.
And they probably would go deeper in Lulua as well, with the whole Alchemy Riddle thing.
Start with a more detailed synopsis, then start to work on the land marks of the story, try to visualize how long would be the story and then try to compress, or write like 20 pages and see how you feel about that.
And of course so it if you want, if not it's fine.

Is Sahyuk arc finally happening?
Yeonha is a great girl but Sahyuk just hits too many 'best girl' spots for me personally.
It's short for something. Also there's a girl called that in the emoji movie trailer so probably not.
Iirc it was the minor dialogues and references about the time in Ciel that got removed due to the links not being there
So I am pretty sure (You) was a new person
Post only the most badass Isekai MCs!
How about a BLAME! style MC stuck in a fantasy world only to end up with it's just another level of mega structure?
Is this Xianxia? Do people cultivate in this?
it's a korean isekai, the protagonist went with a max luck build
it's max bullying isekai
Only the best
it's a tensei-isekai and in the tensei-isekai there is also an MMO-isekai and god knows what else to come
How about the lead is reincarnated from present day Earth by Roko's Basilisk and then freed by a more advanced system and released in a replicant body into the megastructure.
Freely variable amount of Edge depending on how long/badly he got tormented.
Freely variable amount of simulated amnesia depending on whether he's been reset before.
Freely variable amount of Healing depending on whether he can still access the matrix and how often.
Freely variable amount of simulated time fuckery depending on how many others have been freed over the eons (and how many instances of the same person were (and whether any of them were him)).
Highly variable amount of cheat powers based on his replicant body, and it might not all be unlocked and freely controllable at first. And inside the matrix maybe he has glitching powers.
You can't "properly balance" magic without making it just tech by another name. If you allow magic to do what it does best (namely change the rules of engagement) then no amount of planet-nuking will let you win. Fireballs and lightning bolts are just high explosives and laser beams, which means you'll just make wizards smaller mechs. On the other hand if you let wizards start earthbending, conjuring armies or supplies, brainwashing, teleporting, or transmuting/warding then the mechs lose every single time unless the mechs can do it too in which case why bother with magic
I mean hell if you want to see what magic vs tech looks like check out 40k, where sluts of battle get """raped""" by tyranids on a daily basis and turned into slaanesh cultists whenever. Because let's be real, imperium dickwaving aside the universe fucking sucks in 40k and it ain't getting any better. Unless I guess eldar farseers getting tentacled is your definition of 'better'.
From the point of view of information all of those things except innovation and inspiration are just numerical weights assigned to personal values. Inspiration is a word for 'my subconscious processing finished thinking about this and made the connection' i.e. actually pretty easy to replicate in a computer, just hide the process from the 'active' personality. Innovation is something computers already do, that go game that alphago played against the Chinese guy used tactics literally nobody had used before and players study the game now to learn how to play better.
As much as I crave this stuff I feel an anchor setting in a base reality that isn't just endless urban sprawl must be set such as a feudal fantasy realm with high technology wrongfully believed to be magic that attracts people before getting into the extremely complicated dilemma of identity within an artificial body and the meaning of culture in a world inside a bubble. Basically what you're explaining would be the twist at the halfway point of a plot to explain why the MC acts like a person from our current time and uses advanced technology to beat magic.
>EXA_PICO was great.
Loved AT 1 and 2, AT 3 was weak with it's over reliance on fan service with the jump to 3D models. I didn't think such a thing was possible before that. Medleys were also left as a loose end for no good reason, like 'hey the world is saved now everyone but don't get too excited or you'll actually turn into a monster'.
Haven't played the other games though, don't remember why.
What is wrong about magic being just tech relying on individual skill? It's no less a valid interpretation of magic than any other.
How do you kill a vampire? A stake through the heart? Sunlight? Nope, you do it however the fuck you want because vampires aren't real. If you decide you can kill a vampire by punching it in the liver, then punches to the liver are deadly to vampires.
Magic is the same. If it's like a second set of physical laws, or even a subset, or if it can only do small things situationally, it doesn't mean it's not "true" magic.
So, you can just pick whatever set of restrictions makes for a better story, or make magic tech-lite, individual-reliant version. Whether tech or magic would win is a nonsense question, since it all depends on the setting and your imagination.
>What is wrong about magic being just tech relying on individual skill? It's no less a valid interpretation of magic than any other.
Because then there's no real reason to make a distinction? Nothing's wrong with it per-se, but there's no reason to make a distinction between the two. If magic is 'just' technology on a personal level then there's no difference between the two.
>How do you kill a vampire? A stake through the heart? Sunlight?
You have no place here, Mr. "Thermian Argument". Go back to Youtube.
That concept is redundant trash that's just an overglorified strawman.
Yeah there is jackass. It's called aesthetic.
But it adds nothing to the story. The theme of magic vs. technology, or magic + technology, doesn't work if magic IS technology by another name.
Wrong
Define technology. Define magic because technology in these stories is magic when compared to real life tech.
highly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, isn't that the entire theme behind the vs?
>define technology
Whatever the story defines as technology.
>define magic
Whatever the story defines as magic.
You don't need two things that are fundamentally the same thing in a story.
It almost never is the theme, no. The theme tends to be either tech > magic or magic > tech. Usually the former, honestly. If the highly advanced technology in the setting is truly indistinguishable from magic then magic doesn't tend to exist because there literally wouldn't be a point to it, you'd adding complexity to your story without adding depth.
And highly advanced magic shits on high tech.
No amount of tech can beat abra kadabra turn that shitty machine into candy.
Any series where the MC goes back to earth with his experience surviving/fucking around in a different world?
highly advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology
there was one that the translator for shadow began, but he then dropped it
so... no? don't remember any
If you’re using a shitty version of magic which is the problem, this is why tech vs magic always has to nerf magic in some way.
they're usually boring. I remember one where it was just a prelude to the MC isekai'ing again.
the only one that really stands out to me is chapter 7 of whatever short series the Hinamatsuri mangaka did. Only 1 chapter though.
i think it makes things more interesting having to forces using conflicting systems trying to one up eachother. one has trasportation incantations, the other has teleporters, one has fire magic the other has flamethrowers and napalm, one has golems the other has androids and so forth
I know some exist, but too many aren't doing it enough when it's possible for them. Death March has some minimal back to Earth time, but hasn't even had a single chapter bringing the harem with him. I want also want to see it happen in Tsuki ga, except the author refuses to start writing more WN chapters.
No, it isn't. It really fucking isn't. A single D&D Wizard can create an arbitrary amount of mass from thin air by level 5 without using any cheap tricks (besides finding a bit more money than they're supposed to have yet). There's theoretical builds that let you create a fucking black hole in zero seconds by stuffing infinite amounts of matter into a confined space under a persistent time stop effect. Teleporting to somewhere they've never seen or interacted with is perfectly possibly by level 13 and intended, like it's actually just what the spell does - "go literally anywhere".
There was one, mentioned it here . No I can't find its name, but there's spoilers so you don't have to read it.
There's one where he goes back to earth, and i guess there's a cop who gives him free ramen, and then powerwank happens when terrorists invade his school, obviously he saves the day.
It was so fucking juvenile I don't even want to remember what the name was. It's such an awful premise since they usually take themselves half-seriously.
why can't a scifi society do any of that?
Because it violates fundamental laws of physics and science fiction is generally constrained to operate at least nominally under known laws? You can't say it's technology if we've shown it to be physically impossible, not technically but physically. If you just introduce exceptions out the ass then you're not playing by the rules of science fiction any more, it's just space fantasy with space magic.
Energy limits, matter limits.
They already gave solutions for the Medleys: force redirects to proper Cosmospheres or send them to live away from the Third Tower (not hard, seeing how the Tower collapses with Tyria's death). So they're no loose ends.
Okay dipshits heres how it is:
>Magic is revealed to be advanced tech that magic users vaguely interpret as magic leaving room for plot development and correlation with themes
>Magic has no rules so zero plot development and meandering bullshit
Here's an example:
>vampirism is a disease with both benefits and drawbacks, also can be cured with 50/50 fatality rate. Their are many different cultures.
>Vampires are mythical beings of unclear power with arbitrary weaknesses. They all band together because fuck humans.
Holy fuck that guy makes some of the most bland manga imaginable.
Conservation of mass-energy?
Or
>vampires are beings with these powers and these weaknesses
>they have their own politics and at least one of them, Daylight Walker Princess XXX of YYY, has been the on-and-off lover of every single Tsar in the region for the past twelve hundred years
Magic doesn't have to mean 'poorly written', just like tech doesn't imply being well-written.
using the multiverse, wouldn't you have access to infinite matter and energy
my legs are OK
Whatever you say, Mr. "Thermian Argument".
We haven't proven that exists, if it does we don't necessarily know it's infinite, if we do it doesn't mean we can violate temporal constraints, if we can it doesn't mean we can do any of the other shit they do
Once you pull out incredibly hypothetical and wholly unproveable shit like that (or rather the concept of accessing a multiverse is inherently bullshit due to how a 'universe' works as far as we know) then you may as well just call it magic with attached technobabble explanations. Because there's a point where sufficiently advanced means "as far as we know impossible" and at that point you're just making a futuristic fantasy, not science fiction
There is not a single sci-fi series that obeys the laws of physics. Not Star Trek, not Mass Effect and certainly not Star Wars.
This is fun in GAMES, but for a story there should be some kind of system that prevents wizards going full super saiyan, yet not becoming immortal gods of the universe forever trivializing everything.
I'd be fine with more mecha isekai in general.
sci-fi takes advantage of the fact that we haven't discovered all there is to discover about physics yet.
>he made SOAP?!
There are plenty of scientifically accurate sci-fi books though. They just need flashy shit in order to sell movies and games
There was a self published ebook called jakes world or something that was like that
A lot of science fiction obeys more or less all of what we know, as best as we know. Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20k leagues are both 'hard' scifi, even if they're also completely wrong. Just because all you watch is big hollywood shit doesn't mean there's no hard sci-fi.
Also, all of those are space operas / science fantasy.
My point is that if you're going to make tech do everything magic can then unless your story is about A. dabbing on wizards by gunning them down or B. making your MC become a vancian caster and take over the multiverse by wish chaining, then having magic serves no purpose. If magic has no niche and is just tech but maaaagic then why fucking bother?
Sauce?
scifi civilizations have faster than light travel, so it's not a major concern.
They generally don't, not in the sense that relativity precludes.
It's a good thing there's only single sci-fi ruleset possible
this, there's no single ruleset to fantasy or science fiction worlds, so i don't get this "science can't be equal to magic because my D&D wizard says so" debate
We aren't talking about hard Sci-Fi are we? You know since we are talking about magic and Sci-Fi. A hard Sci-Fi setting wouldn't have magic.
Not even all interstellar ones rely on it.
There comes a point where the softness of a scifi setting robs it of the right to be called science fiction.
That's not what I'm saying you git
I'm saying that if magic is literally equivalent to technology, in the sense that they do the same things with different names, then it's redundant.
What a retarded discussion.
the same end result doesn't mean it's the same shit though. like one side can pray for god for their daily breads while the other farms, and even if they both have food on their plate at the end of the day, it's still different rulesets completely.
Blame the faggot for who science fiction is star wars and nothing else
Just because you are not smart enough to comprehend or contribute to the discussion doesn't mean its retarded.
Andromeda was in a way an Isekai TV show. The MC was an elite captain of an ancient intergalactic federation who was trapped in time and awoke in a period were everything was lost. The show was about bringing back that ancient civilization. You could make an Anime with this premise.
Except the difference there is that one side has a farm and the other side doesn't. If the only difference between a tech fireball and a magic fireball is that one side fires a napalm round and the other flicks a bead of fire downrange then literally why make the distinction?
Blame the idiot that thinks magic has to be spontaneous, unpredictable, and overpowered or its technology.
reminder that a movie adaptation of Dune is coming next year
That's not what I said me lad :)
because there's a distinction to be made
Because one still needs to make everything to fire a fireball while the other just chants or launches it.
lol
sauce?
Extremely low quality post.
Frank Herbert's Dune
It's true but take the discussion to Yea Forums or /tg/.
No, I mean when did they announce a new movie
>movie adaptation
it's going to be shit
shinka no mi
Then magic wins, if sci-fi doesn't adhere to the math and logic then it's not sci-fi.
As always, that shit would be better if was a high budget series
>“My hair is navy, retard. It looks darker because it’s night.”
Author is seething that he caved into fans that said this is Sahyuk. It's literally Bossu and nobody can tell me otherwise.
Depends on the setting dumbass. In some settings magic takes time to cast, has limits or negative consequences or requires rare and/or expensive materials.
delete this post immediately
or movies like the LoTR, everything planned from the start and all done at the same time
I am mildly amused by The Returner.
Unlike other main characters in this scenario, he's not a power tripping moralfag harem-builder, or a lazy ex-moralfag burnout. He's an ex immortal who just wants to live and die normally for once.
He has no fucks to give, and is a failure at life. The series is powered by all the characters being total jerks to each other during an impending monster apocalypse. Somehow this works as a story, even though it shouldn't.
Okay but but if sci-fi doesn't explain itself properly it falls into the magic category.
Magic just tempts writers to bullshit every conflict with duh well the other guy just has more magic in his genes. Having magic be a technological tool that anyone can harness the power of through learning bypasses this horrid practice because now the only rule is science. No power levels only pure ingenuity wins. Sure magic can have rules, but anytime the writer can break those rules by just inventing another set of rules.
It's actually happening bro
she gets jealous when Hajin interacts with the kid version of her
So we can all agree, no more sci-fi isekai threads for a while
No it just makes it soft instead of hard. Do you think Star Trek is magic? How about Gundam? Is Akira magic?
Soft or hard, in the end all of you have eternally soft dicks.
>Fuck the Putin isekai thread it's way better
If only this show weren't fucking awful.
I rather play with hard loli clits.
How about instead:
>time traveller visits like 0AD and some of his tech gets left behind as he performs his secret mission
>guild is formed to collect this tech and prevent it from making an impact on the future that the time traveller came from
>the guild exclusively allow themselves to use this technology to aid in the recovery of the tech
>they call their tech magic to hide the truth from the general populace about time travel
>very strict exam to become someone in the know, known as magicians
>actually pretty similar to witch hat atelier
>1 make him a cyborg
>2 give him a mech that only he can pilot
>3 give him a godlike AI that loves him too much
>4 on X planet the human body is better and faster than the aliens
write it user, i expect the first chapter by next week
I'm curious, where would you guys put Mahouka's system on the scale of magic to tchnology?
I love you
Time Travel shenanigans aren't necessary, just have all wizards / magic users be archaeologists in the distant future after a cataclysmic event. MC is a sentient ai / brainscan of someone from our time in a replicant body ala this guy's idea:
>2 give him a mech that only he can pilot
Broken blade (never watched the last ova)
>4 on X planet the human body is better and faster than the aliens
knights of sidonia, dropped when the harem started, John carter
I started brain storming in another thread a few nights back. Let me see if I can still link it.
>Knights of sidonia,
going to look this up
>John Carter
heh
the harem would had been fine
if it weren't for the talking penis
Anime it's chilly hot garbage, you can get used but takes time, read the manga if you want
Fuck you faggot the talking pink tentacle penis is the best girl
I like the humanity fuck yeah stories where humans are the super predator when compared to other alien species.
fuck you cunt
it isn't
been trying to make mecha comic for 7 weeks.
Shit taste
but for real it was only the androgynous plant girl and maybe the tentacle (because at least the mc would never fuck that) would be fine, at least it was different??, But after they started the mc journey to mediocrity I dropped, I still gonna read the end when the official manga catch-up in my country, but yeah the harem part was a big turn off for me
>5 aliens have been abduction humans for years and turning them into hunters
OR
>alien abduction the MC and 7 other humans, they later brake out and they find out that the mothership is the size of new york and out of that in the middle of space, they have to free other humans and aliens and take other the ship
How do you feel about the Old Man's War series?
All the aliens are stronger, but humanity manages to maintain parity by being total bastards. Some of the aliens are bastards too, but we out-bastard them.
>Protag gets abducted and has to go to a battle academy on another world full of cute random alien girls
>Planet of the apes + space odyssey + avatar + eternals + shield hero
Amazing, he got possibilities there to do something great or something extremely messy, I'm torn apart in this one, leave the manuscript in my desk until monday
Looks neat. Going to pick it up. Looks ike MC gets a daughterwife of his own. Rare for a western author.
There's one more post in that thrad with more of my ideas.
Yeah but the time travel means the guild has a justified end-goal of ensuring continuity; of ensuring that they stay on the same world line because that will mean the original time-travelling messiah will be born again. Possibly a Jesus story.
The status quo is evil wizards rule various territories and must be exposed for using high tech and, or killed. Just have the message be that technology is bad only when the common people are withheld the knowledge on how to use it. The villains want to use "magic" for selfish reasons and spew bullshit that they were chosen to rule. The ending could be returning Earth to a natural state through space colonization or a new ice age. Either way is bittersweet because at least one generation must suffer to ensure humanity's survival.
>Broken blade
why did it dead
>arrogant tsundere space elf girl
>straightforward tomboy warrior race oni girl
>kindly onee-san holographic sentient starship AI
>kuudere lizard girl
>adorable little sister moth girl
>edgy murder obsessed space dark elf girl
>comic relief ayylmao grey
>some precursers bullshit as to why all the girls are humanoid and have tits and vag000s and want protag-kun's genes
Do a small story user, then improve on that, maybe the ship can only orbit the planet, maybe after the mc died so many times he can't feel anything (emotion) and the loli slowly heals him.
Or do this
>>comic relief ayylmao grey
it's still going isn't it?
nope
mangaupdates says it's still ongoing, although scanlations are 2 volumes behind
Watch level E, maybe you gonna like (wait for the kids episode)
I'll post it in one of these threads someday.
In an unrelated note: Anyone else get images of their home town in the recaptchas?
>Anyone else get images of their home town in the recaptchas?
Some times, shield hero threads are still a wasteland?
gantz?
Science-fantasy isekais where the mc builds a galactic empire based on combining the technical skills, ingenuity, magic and other qualities of dwarves, gnomes, elves and so on to advance civilization is the future. It's basically the logical continuation of what a lot isekais already do (both Japanese and western ones like Daniel Black, actually).
Would be cool if they used the combined might of magic and technology to terraform planets and spread life through the vastness of space.
Man why are aliens in anime always just played for comedy. Why can't they ever be cool or interesting
Any well-written fiction fulfills the rule of self-consistency. If you make up new rules to circumvent old ones, and do so poorly enough to be recognized doing it, then it's not good fiction and hence literally doesn't count.
>ctrl+F "muv"

Why does nobody remember this was a sci-fi isekai
The threads are slow right now. Everyone dropped the fake outrage act.
Because there has never been an interesting alien race written, they're all written from the perspective of a human when realistically that's horseshit and you may as well just make them space samurai and space jihadists and whatnot call it a day? Unironically orks are better written than 99% of any ayy race simply because they actually feel weird.
Muv?
I remember Muv Luv mostly for this
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as isekai, is in fact, narou-type isekai, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, narou isekai. Isekai is not a genre unto itself, but rather another plot device of a fully functioning story made complete by the setting, characters and prose comprising a full work of fiction as defined by writers. Many readers read a version of narou every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of narou story which is widely used today is often called “isekai”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically a narou-type story, developed by writers on Syousetuka ni Narou. There really is a isekai, and these people are reading it, but it is just a part of the broader field of narou webnovels. Isekai is the plot device: the concept in the story that allocates the protagonist to another world. The concept is an essential part of a story, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete setting. Isekai is normally used in combination with a full system (JRPG skills, cheat power, cooking, harems, crop rotations): the whole system is basically narou with isekai added, or narou isekai. All the so-called “isekai” distributions are really forms of narou isekai.

Truly all our discussions are made on the shoulders of giants
The last anime didn't adapt everything?
Write an 'interesting' ayy that isn't just an expy or caricture of an earth culture desu
That's one hell of a case of tapeworm.
Muv-Luv. It's about the protagonist of a school SoL comedy who suddenly gets isekaied to an alternative Earth where the world is being destroyed by ayyliums and he meets the alternative versions of his haremettes who are cadets in the UN army. Surprisingly detailed world setting and had a fairly dedicated fanbase on Yea Forums for a few years
No, the anime only went to like chapter 50.
ir Kuromokuro isekai?
Reverse isekai?
Alien isekai?
The tapeworms reproduce extremely aggressively. They also taste like cherry, supposedly.
because I hate remebering muv luv and how there will be never a TDA 04 with Ichimonji orbital dropping kurogane into meiya's wedding; them fighting in the salty desert and dancing for one last time until Kurogane rages and dies. Finally reaching the alternative timeline. If knowing that it will bring me pain. Why remember at all?
The BETA are fucking retarded
Sometimes I wonder though, if the BETA do all this ridiculous shit to humanity imagine what'll happen when the ALPHAs show up
The last ' interesting ' aliens that I remember, was the aliens in the last Yamato spaceship anime, but they are just copy paste human with blue skin thought
I've got my mind on ES2 right now, but I can't think of any "earth culture" that the Unfallen could possibly be likened to. And dismissing them as "tree people" is disingenuous and fails to do their characterization justice.
A good chunk of the aliens in the Endless series actually do a pretty decent job at not just being earth culture proxies.
But they cover beyond the ovas or the same shit?
I know you have your mind in ES 2. I haven't played it in a while but I do remember both riftborn and plasma tits being pretty uninspired. They were also the only two females worth a damn so I immediately lost interest afterwards.
TDA FUCKING WHEN AGE YOU FUCKING HACKS
But having a more morally ambiguous wizards guild would make for better story-telling. I'm sick of this "demon lord is evil because he is the demon lord" piece-of-shit plotlines. Objective morality is a hallmark of lazy storytelling.
Isn't Age basically going under
bruh
the manga is ongoing
so I would assume it's going further than any shit you've watched went, you AOP
From what I remember, the TV anime only added the full fight scene from the manga between the glasses guy and some goon squad, everything else was from the OVA
Objective morality works fine for certain types of stories to be fair
Lord of the Rings is super objective in that Sauron is Evil essentially because Eru says so.
I would love to read almost/manga or watch an anime adaptation of sunrider academy
>They were also the only two females worth a damn so I immediately lost interest afterwards
If this is your outlook on fiction I'm lead to immediately distrust you on what's "inspired" or not.
Sauron at least has a semblance of motivation and character (possibly only in the silmarillion), but the plot doesn't exactly revolve around him. I'd say the better conflict is between Frodo and his desire for the ring, as it's a charcater-driven story based around the hobbits and their party, who aren't particularly concerned with the greater machinations of the maiar.
Am I not allowed to be interested in titty?
The MC would be forced into ambiguous role because a war / revolution breaking out might endanger the entire human race. He/she would have to join the least selfish wizard and conduct either political moves or assassinations.
By the time the Lord of the Rings rolls around Sauron is basically as Gandalf says he is, a burnt-out husk capable of nothing but fear and hate.
But yeah that's what I mean. It works because Sauron being evil is only there to provide a convenient looming enemy that provides a sort of excuse for 'so why the fuck is Frodo going somewhere literally named Doom'.
The Pequeninos from The Speaker For the Dead before they converted.
>the world of adults
Bullshit. Thinking adults don't masochistically endure unjust rules. If the system disagrees with them while they can overthrow it, they change it into something that suits their interest. Only pushover beta cucks endure injustice while having the power to change it.
I don't know the context of what story you're on about or what the conflict is but personally disagreeing with the rules doesn't necessarily mean you have anything better. Only children burn down 'unjust' shit first and then think about what they'll do after they're sitting in the ashes.
Not him, but...
>1 make him a cyborg
Aldnoah.Zero (isekai edition)
>2 give him a mech that only he can pilot
Studio Gainax/Trigger Mecha Show (isekai edition)
>3 give him a godlike AI that loves him too much
Valvrave (isekai edition)
>4 on X planet the human body is better and faster than the aliens
Shinsekai Yori (space colony edition)
I like to avoid war breaking out in a story, it takes the character driven element out of a story and puts their fates at the whims of the battle. It also strips down character motivations down to which of 2 or 3 sides they support, where a story about diplomacy/in peacetime could have a dozen different orientations and better preserves individual reasons behind these orientations.
It's either that or you force your character to be OP enough to be a significant player in a war. I'm not saying wartime stories are necessarily bad in this manner, The Dam Busters and The Great Escape are excellent films (not to mention true stories) that focus on a few individuals amongst the greater tides of a battle, but as they don't personally change the tide of battle significantly, you couldn't write an extended narrative with character development in this style without relying on stupidly good luck or forgoing the danger of war and ending up with a lighter story.
Plus the time travel angle can lead towards stupidly convoluted plots (i.e. more so than Steins;Gate) and the greater question as to whether you can justify taking fate into your own hands for your subjective morals. I'd spin the story as a boy who encounters a piece of this magitech when he's young, which he hides away and researches by himself. After the prologue he joins the magitech guild and begins to get involved in the tides of other people's motivations. As he wants to continue his own research, he stumbles across a high-tier magician who also does plenty of research, and so this faction gradually builds up influence within the local wizard fortress. They make some sort of revelation that leads them to set off on an expedition to some place where the founder might have left fragments of technology, but instead they uncover part of his story and what his mission was, which only brings up more questions than it answered.
>Mc Got isekaid in a fantasy sci-fi world because reasons.
>Oh my high school education it's not compatible with this world
>End Up living in a junkyard
>Meets cork/crazy scientist
>Found a Cyborg waifu (because waifu it's obligatory)
>The scientist fix the ciborgFu
>ciborg Waifu it's special or adds Break Blade like magic to the mix
>Minwile world it's in perpetual war against (colonies, aliens, other worlds, factions)
>Shit happens
>Giant ancient mecha its activated because of Cyborg Waifu and MC asspull
>scientist dies in the crossfire but AI with his mind is activated (scientist is a pervert and AI is a loli because it's mandatory we have a loli in an isekai)
>Govermant or enemies (or both want the not Gundam)
>MC and Android Waifu roamed the earth and later go to spaceeeee
>Shit happens
>scene missing
>Not Gundam and CyborgWaifu are damaged
>Waifu bot it's abducted.
>Mc is floating in space in an escape pod with loli AI losing power (and his name is not Major Tom)
End of V1, Its gonna be written in chink
So I read through kino healer WN and I gotta say I'm disappointed with how the story is ending up in the later parts. It was pretty good up to where healer killed the lion head maou to replace him with Eve as demon queen. Then the story is rushed as everyone suddenly has to run back to fight Freya's immortal dad king who wants to turn everyone into zombies. This is where it starts to get bad. The author ignored the evil god subplot and started having all the bad guys become soulless immortal regenerating zombies so it becomes impossible for Keare to do any of his edgy revenge shit, he can't fucking talk to any of them. it turns into some crappy survival horror battle shounen and the author even dropped the idea of revenge against the princess, she's too good of a waifu to waste, he wants that jap MC comfy harem life, I was like WTF is this shit is he even the same person? Then suddenly the gay priest hero gets the same power but better and takes over a empire in a chapter, and we get a second zombie army and he's the final boss, okay. Now they're setting up a harem ending as the girls take up main character events while the MC is sitting in prison as a hostage for them. The author just could not keep up the edge
Yeah, more or less.
Who's the girl on the cover? Is it Guren?
No, Guren is there, but in her fox form. That's a new character from the drama CD
Aura Battler Dunbine, technically the first major Isekai anime.
give him a mech that only he can pilot
you got this
>5 Have him henshin
Wait, what's this? There's a new anime?
Man, I get that the point is to sell toys, but why do the belts need to look so fucking dumb and plastic.
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet nove
s2?
Fuck you.
Alice in Wonderland is Isekai
Barsoom series is Isekai
Chronicles of Narnia is Isekai
Yeah, it's just a fact of life ever since Fourze, I am not a fan myself. In fact, if you say something like that to /m/ they'll just defend it till the bitter end.
Kamen rider isekai when?
no really provide a source you shitbag
>that kuromukuro-tier rosy cheeks moe character design
My only big fault with that anime, plus the small amount of forced harem antics.
The context is Otome Mob. Leon doesn't even need to offer any alternative by himself. Luxon the literal omnipotent AI can do it all for him. All he needs to do is just giving an order.
Probably then because if he did that then the story would end the very page he gave the order.
Ryuuki is already isekai
It means he will still have to solve everything by brute force in the end. There is no reason to tolerate all those humiliations in that case. His approach only makes sense if he is a powerless weakling who has no way to deal with the oppressive authority, but he isn't.
Read Bluesteel Blasphemer my dude
It won't. All the hints indicate that the final boss will be the old humans who went into the space and will return to take revenge. Leon can realize it easily and his most logical choice should be uniting the world as fast as possible and using the planet's resources to prepare a magitek army for the upcoming battle.
Logically if he has an omnipotent AI he can just tell the AI to do that for him.
Alright anons, this is your final opportunity. Ecstas Online (by the author of Masou Gakuen HxH) or Rakudai Kishi, the final voting round is on for which will get translated next. It's neck and neck and Reddit are already brigading the Rakudai vote, clinging to the tired husk of magic school battleharems, the old ways. They cannot see that VRMMOs and isekais are the future!
For the uninitiated, this is the manga of Ecstas so you know what you're getting.
mangadex.org
Vote for Ecstas and get anime tiddy while keeping the Stellafags out!
>badass Isekai MC
>muh bully
>muh betrayal
>muh usless classmates
>muh retarded waifus
Sure.
I wish I had some place to discuss the story and to bounce ideas off.
>World where Mazinger, GaoGaiGar and Giant Robo type mechss compete versus each other as they fight mecha monsters
>There's a girl, a daughter of a genius robot scientist that dreams about being a hero mech pilot and joined a gattai mech group from a young age
>But her breasts became too big
>Whether its pressing a wrong button to eject her part, or friendly fire, or not being able to reach the controls, she became a burden to the group and decided to make her own mech
>She built a mech with more space inside, but it was laughed at for being fat
>She installed a better vertical seat with heavy chest support with a screen showing her hands on controls, but she was too busy looking at the screen to press the right controls to pay attention to the enemy
>She removed the front console and installed the controls on the sides, but her back was in too much pain to finish the enemy
>She made a horizontal seat, but her chest moved around too much and hit her in the face for an instant K.O.
>She made a liquid tank seat, but a leak short circuited her mech
>She tried to make the mech remote controlled, but standing on the ground lacked any mech romance and VR goggles made her head spin
>So she decided to minituarize parts and stick them on herself, controlling everything with her body and the rest of the story is devoted to that.
Oh, and make the world to be another Bandai gunpla game where the protag chose to play as a girl and maxed her chest slider because he would regret it otherwise. And isekai'ed there after falling asleep
Then the story will be about conquering the world and fighting a galactic empire, which actually sounds better than school bullying.
Futurama
>There comes a point where the softness of a scifi setting robs it of the right to be called science fiction.
Dune would like to have a word with you
>A lot of science fiction obeys more or less all of what we know, as best as we know
Tell this to Isaac asimov. Following the fall of the galactic empire space fleets were powered by coal, oil and gas. I dont think I have to tell you why this cant be a thing
>I dont think I have to tell you why this cant be a thing
I mean
In theory nothing stops it from being the case as long as they're willing to wait a billion years to get anywhere.
Also >replying to a post from ages ago
What's it with most sci-fi discussions devolving into /m/shit?
I mean the energy density of oil and gas is not enough to provide the acceleration required to leave the atmosphere of a planet. I.e if you want more power you need to bring more oil, but that weighs you down so you have more mass and so require more power and thus oil and thus get heavier etc. Unless you've got orbital dockyards you cant get any ships to leave their planets, and even if you do you cant get any materials up there to build ships. So you're stuck planetbound
Right that's fair but I wasn't sure if they just had permanent orbit-bound fleets for some reason.
That was my thought but you still need to ship people and fuel up to said permanent orbital ships, even if you for some reason started with a full fleet full of people and fuel you would have no way of getting any more fuel and the people once landed on a planet will never be able to get back up to the ship. Its a one way trip, which doesnt bode well for any form of military action seeing as you cant reinforce any troops you lose. Not only that you would get no benefit from small space kingdoms as you wouldnt be able to ship any resources between worlds for the aforementioned reasons. I havent done the maths for this but I imagine if you worked out the energy produced by unit mass of oil and gas and coal none of them would have a high enough number to give you enough speed to get you into orbit.
Sci-fi isekai is the past.
Yep, plebbit are still brigading the vote for Rakudai.
www (plebbit) com /r/Rakudai/comments/atezb3/rakudai_kishi_no_cavalry_fan_translation_final/
That's a fantasy.
Man with 1000 skills.
Diamond Hard SF.
I can't believe WW fucking died.
The mc it's just a cancer in the balls, but the world it's really cool
Finally, I can fucking read this.
>sci-fi isekai is the future
>isekai
It's not even fucking new, it's called Time fucking Travel or even Alternate Dimensions/Sliding. How fucking young are you fucks to not have encountered these?
Shut up boomer
>in space without helmets
(You)
The show itself is hard SF; that doesn't mean the promo art is.
Now this is the best type of shield
>Rakudai Kishi
>battleharem
>Stellafags
The only thing worse than a competent enemy is an incompetent ally...
They do though? Look at China, look at Japan, and look at South Korea. Adults will bear a lot of bullshit and unfairness. It does reach a tipping point, but it still takes a while to do so. Everyone endures shit, but because they still have things they love, they don't overturn system.
So, would this interest anyone?
try posting in the Putin thread, dead thread
That's not Isekai
Same fag? Because the is a interesting premise but kinda it's hard to understand, maybe you should explain better, I like the idea, could be a fun action comedy, not every story has to be a edgy ln
i can't fucking stand this shit with all the filler panels, and it looks like the author is just tracing or using filters over stock images for all his backgrounds
>they still have things they love, they don't overturn system.
It is a retarded logic. If they love something and know such thing is under an unfair system, it's only logical to overthrow said system to liberate what they love.
yeah sure, go ahead and tell them to risk their status quo while they are already being placated by their phones
it'll be shit
Perhaps you guys can start the sci-fi isekai trend
if you put in enough effort to make a proper sci-fi then you don't want it to have a shitty isekai premise unless you just love shitting up your own work
>This one
you ways have to ask yourself, "The isekaid plot it's really necessary?" Because most of the times this part its abandoned within 3 chapters or so
>an American boy transported to a magical realm and aged to adulthood who soon thereafter becomes a knight.
>boy has amnesia from the start
like why even bother indeed
Otome Mob manga chapter just dropped
mangadex.org
Finally decided the names for the main cast.
I will write chapter 1 tomorrow.
see kids this is why sci-fi isekai isn't a thing
Gargantia has 6 LNs, 3 of them is anime story, one is a spinoff, last two are from the cancelled season 2
Who cares? Otomeshit is for queers and women. I am neither.
That one is plain shitty haremshit, just with otome skin.
otome mob is not even true otomeshit
People love otomeshit because it's cute and adorable. Otome mob is just an isekai/tensei harem in disguise.
>it's cute and adorable
Once again I am neither a homo nor a woman. I do despise Haremshit as well.
>doesn't like otome
>doesn't like harem
What the fuck are you doing here then?
>Time fucking Travel
Not isekai.
>Alternate Dimensions/Sliding
If it's still on earth then not isekai.
Is there even one otome isekai that doesn't end up being a pure trainwreck though?
Fuck off otome is just reverse harem aka harem for girls.
Most don't? It's pretty rare for them to become pure trainwreck, I can only really think of A Sequel for the Villainess
But that doesn't answer the question. If you like neither, what are you even doing in isekai threads?
Are you implying that there isn't any non harem isekai? Because if you are you are 100% retarded.
Picked up, any ntr bait?
I bet you think Sakura is too girly for your manly tastes, right, closet-kun?
>sakura
Can you be any more vague dumbass? Might as well said I bet you don't like manga.
>not getting sakura and girly
Are you one of those filthy crossboarders?
stale or boring =/= trainwreck
None of these web novels are free from that since they never have a planned out structure from beginning to end (else they would have been good enough to just be published straight to LN)
>cancelled season 2
I don't know how to feel about this.
Im not him but what the fuck do you mean by Sakura. Context user, fuck.
Forgot this thread is mostly Yea Forums meets /tg/. Cardcaptors.
no seriously. How were we supposed to figure out you meant CCS out of all the fucking Sakuras out there
You are a fucking dumbass faggot. There is a plethora of Sakuras. And no I didn't like CCS but not because its girly but because it was shit.
man i really wish they would've used the manga art designs over the LN. she looks terrible with that retarded snout in the anime version.
>wanting a kawaii uguu over anatomically correct spider
You people disgust me.
>anatomically correct spider
Pray tell, where the fuck do you find spiders with snouts.
Why was the Shield Hero thread deleted?
Because you're a faggot. And because shield hero threads devolve into shit.
