I think it went that the video game team wasn't the same as the funimation anime team, despite using the same voices. The manga kept japanese names once the Case Closed era was passed, so maybe they caught up before Season 5 Part 1 was out. I assume the card game was the same as the video game and anime problem.

Early Sato was really something. She used to be more cuter and feminine looking. All the "cool" female designs in Conan back then looked less like what "cool" means now, with the sharp faces and those new eyes they use. Aoyama always likes to say the guys are cool and the girls are cute in conan but then he started designing cool women for org members or FBI members, but now they blend in with all the other sharp designs and it all feels "cool" and no cute. Even Ayumi stopped being cute because of it.

Man, they need to tone down the cool guy in most characters they've going on on the anime lately. I was rewatching some of the remasters, and they're not COOL MODE all the time. Now, it seems Conan is always grinning-smug-hands on pocket-200% cool. In early episodes he (and the BO/FBI characters) is not like that all the time, but those moments are reserved for when he confronts the culprit, when deducing a murder, etc. By having it not cool 100% of the time, those moments end up packing more punch, now that's diluted, everyone grinning, smug, cooler than cool. I'd rather prefer to see them with a serious look instead.

The Robert E. Howard estate is apparently really pissy about this shit. Conan O'Brien supposedly had to basically negotiate with them to call his show Conan. That's why heirs should never have any rights to characters and IP when the original creator has died unless they're actively working on material themselves.

I like her looks not her bland personality. Kazuha has a similar body type too but she's more likeable in general. That beach aftershow card has her tits bigger than Ran's despite that not being the case other times.
What I actually like about Ran's personality is that we can have good cute moments with Conan. Her basic pureness is sweet but it isn't incredibly enticing. The best thing we get from her is when they're in a car and Conan sits on her lap while she hugs him.
She was decent in the beginning when everyone was just goofy at times but now she's obsolete.

At least no one ever heard of the fucking card game, and the video game was never released in America despite being dubbed and set for release here, complete with a website and release date that kept getting pushed back and then cancelled.
The real issue is when there are alternative names within one set media. Some next conan episode previews use a different name than what they eventually decided on. The preview for Death of a Diva called it The Case of the Murdered Actress. The preview for The Three Fingerprints called it One Gun, Three Fingerprints. The preview for the gun one used what they settled on as the artwork title card though, so already the preview was wrong.
I think there was a case of two characters coming back later in CC whose names weren't remembered and were changed again. There was also a time they kept the Japanese names of two characters but english names for them showed up in the credits that otherwise went unused.

The dub stopped right before the really comfy atmosphere kicked in. Conan's next design stage, him starting to wear other clothes, the new setup with Haibara, etc. Even though Adult Swim wasn't really the place to put it there wasn't a better alternative. Maybe airing it at the end of the night on CN but with an adult disclaimer, IE sooner than midnight, would've helped its chances. Funi wanted the 20 year old audience but what it was actually getting was kids staying up at night just to see it. If CN could've snagged another "mature" anime it could've been a teenager hour block before Adult Swim. I don't know what anime could've went with Conan at the time though.
That's the best way the series could've been handled. But even with the disclaimer and airing around 10 PM I imagine they'd edit blood out or something. I think Adult Swim's early website said that that the block had to start around 11 because of regulations.

I watched that when I was younger around 2010 and liked it. I tried watching it recently and I couldn't believe how grating the soft cutesy voices for everyone were. Chiyo's was kinda fine and I think the teachers were too but it was either the directing or just the voices the rest were doing that were just really damn annoying.

In that same episode they fuck up and dont change the script (i guess thats good) where conan refers to richard as uncle despite them removing that term from the dub entirely outside of that. I used to think it was Conan doing his kid bit and tricking everyone at the party to think they're related but then later I found out uncle is what he uses in the sub through the show.
I wonder if they were rushing this one out the door to air on adult swim.

He was very concerned at the hospital in Movie 1. There's some filler episodes where it's just the two of them and I think there were some where they genuinely bonded. Canon wise there was a time where he got drunk, hugged conan, took a picture, and saved it as Conan's phone background. There's moments where Ran says she isn't sure where Conan is and he looks worried.

Should I start from the beginning? First, the reason they went to london was very stupid, then shinichi's body went more immune to antidote for stupid reason (he really shouldn't go to london), the bombing threat case was boring (koshien was far superior), and so on. While I agree with it was containing akai's family backstory, I think the purpose of gosho sent conan(with antidote) to london is only to quench shippers' (shinran) thirst. Don't get me wrong, I like memories of sakura class, I think it's cute, but london arc could be better.
