user is an idiot who can't choose the right words, of course they always stay androgynous and true to themselves. What's true is that the facial expressions, including the eyes' layout and pupils, the way hair is detailed, the nose plus the overall body language not only has shifted in the years from the start of the manga, but can emphasize a subtle "female-ish" look or role. Phos looked slightly girlish in his first moon trip, same for Cringeworm of course. Rutile is also a good example, pre and post-moon. Dia's features are softer when he's in shipper mode, but less so when he talks about Bortz.

Quite a bit is not the same as including it all

Leaving aside that Ichikawa doesn't strike me as the kind of mangaka who accomodates well to a weekly schedule, it would've gotten axed years ago if it was. The eerie feeling, especially at the start, could lure people in but everything would've needed to be much faster.
If anything, I'm all but convinced that Ichikawa initially planned for a shorter but modular run, hence why the legs and the arms are lost so quickly but post-Shiro we take three full volumes to get properly introduced to most gems and have the 'suspect Sensei' arc properly develop at its own pace

So from what we've seen about Ichikawa making characters do a 180, Rutile will end up telling Shinsha that instead of chipping off other gems, she wants to chisel Shinsha into pieces and grind them down into a paste that can be used to smooth out Patrick's chiselmarks.
And then she'll reveal something like she knew sensei wasn't a gem the whole time, because he doesn't ring when hit or that she once made him a buttplug out of cannabis but she loathed everyone for Pornstar being asleep while everyone else was still awake

I still think that Parappa's ruthlessness was calculated. Either he wanted to force an outcome or it has to do with the operation, for example Aechmea having told him he's operating on limited time, the corundum is unstable or something like that. He seemed too eager to interrupt the conversation with the prince to turn to Phos.

The seven treasures quest is very tricky because the lists we have are not consistent, mostly because the earliest Buddhist sutras mentioning it are in Sanskrit and Chinese translators interpreted the materials differently over the centuries. Also, the earliest mentions are in terms of spiritual treasures and the identification with actual gems came later.
So you have all sorts of stuff which adds to the mystery -there's beryl, quartz, nacre, all sort of corals, carnelian, amber, silver, even jade.
Now our master scholar adds to it because his legs and arms are *technically* made up of two different materials each, so that's another problem.
I think the simplest solution is to consider every new 'piece' of Phos as one material because the spiritual ascension process makes it easier to identify single moments as a step towards enlightenment through a lesson learned. I admit that it leaves the problem of silver being in every listing of treasures open when the easiest thing would be to consider the gold-platinum alloy as representing gold and silver altogether, but who knows if Phos isn't going to get some silver too.

There's probably a hundred different interpretations of what they represent just aside from what material they actually are, but Aechmea does call the pearl eye a representation of their wisdom, indicating it's the last treasure on that list. Unless it being fake is also important.

Going into full speculation mode and assume that list is right, I suppose you could link Phos losing control of the gold arms as also coinciding with moments where his self conviction is shaken. Since the latest chapters have really been pushing at Phos' conviction that he's really on the right path, it would be neat if a total loss of conviction from something that Sensei or someone else says also coincides with Phos losing his arms from getting Shinsha'd.
Also, another thing that strikes me is that quartz crystal being the treasure of selflessness also fits in with Ghost's actions towards Phos, and with Cairn up until a point, but it's not something that Phos has particuarly demonstrated given all the other reasons he has for acting the way he does. The question of how Ghost could be brought back, whilst Cairn is definitely not going to accept having Ghost put over him again, hasn't come up yet, but Phos offering to be a surrogate might be one way towards that.

Phos doesn't have much in the way of self worth, but it's kind of tended more towards being more willing to take big risks than being selfless, with the exception of the start of the story when trying to help Cinnabar and when he was fine with being used as a bargaining chip after Aucleatus escaped.

Admittedly he hasn't really had that much of a chance to be selfless since shit happens and he can't act, but since getting the shell legs I feel like his motivations have been influenced more by feelings ranging from curiosity, guilt, a sense of duty, anger and so on rather than altruism. I think it's telling that the "it's for the good of everyone" reasoning only showed up after getting to the moon.

To be honest it seems like the meaning is more or less steady in most schools since the listing of spiritual treasures is in a very ancient text, so it really is the materials that pose the bigger question. Nichiren Buddhism and the Tibetan iconology of Chakravartin have an entirely different interpretation of 7 treasures to the point that it's inapplicable to HnK.
About the Ghost thing, that's a good point I hadn't really thought about. Sphaṭika's most direct translation would be in fact 'quartz' (even if the word itself seems to be very layered wisdomlib.org/definition/sphatika), but I don't see the Ghost reconstruction being on the table soon. If anything, Karen grinding the arm was a way to further indicate that she's over it and Ghost is only the past now.
Moreover, Phos is the pseudomorph himself, meaning that the network of actions he does, the way they reverberate and the actions done by others as a reaction are eventually going to manifest as part of his very body. So every new part of Phos doubles as a representation of the one who gave it to him and the personality trait Phos acquires.

It's worth adding that it seems that in the sutras of Pure Land canon, the treasures decorating Amitabha Buddha's land are: gold, silver, lapislazuli, crystal, nacre, red pearl and carnelian. I'm not well-versed in the matter, but Ichikawa has deliberately been filling the manga with references to the idea of a pure land. It's what Kongo wanted to make for the gems, it's what the Lunarians crave, and in a sense Maitreya Phos is going to literally *become* the pure land or paradise, that is, the houseki no kuni. She might even be pointing to a conflict between different interpretations of the pure land between Buddhist schools, seeing as the Japanese Vajrayana (literally the Kongou jou or adamantine vehicle) believes there's an Eastern Paradise/Pure land opposed to the Western one. We're told that Phosphophyllite is the colour of the western land which might be a hint, although where Kongo stands in regards with the teachings about Pure land I don't know.

Well I think that fact that he takes such big risks without ever considering how the others might feel just to try and make things better. He always considers how to make the lives of the others better, but it always usually comes at the cost of his own happiness. Sacrificing ones self for the sake of others is another form of selflessness. So I would say that Phosphophyllite represents the treasure of selflessness.
On an unrelated note, if we were to consider the individual parts that Phos gets without counting any twice, Phos currently has 5 of the treasures. Only missing the Treasure of Generosity and Morality/Virtue. Now, Phos' arms are made of a gold platinum alloy, if one of Phos' arms got hit with Cinnabars Mercury, then it would be turned into pure platinum(Because Mercury alloys with gold like crazy, but as far as I know does not alloy with platinum), thereby fulfilling the requirement for "silver". Just some food for thought.

All the suffering and everything aside, Ichikawa has pretty much gone back to how she drew Phos' face pre-moon, and the proportions of the body are pretty similar too.
The torsos do look much longer in some panels, but I'm pretty sure that's a consequence of Ichikawa being lazy when drawing Phos' current outfit which isn't skintight.
Look at how it wraps around Phos' butt. It's much baggier than anything Phos has worn before, and hangs slightly lower.

The practical reason is actually that his moon shoes have a hole at the end of the heel that allows him to release the gold from there from a more focused position rather than going around with permanently broken shoes by making the heel himself.

It's probably also because Phos wanted to be strong like Antarc, so he subconciously made heels like Antarc's, made his hair as close to Antarc as possible, tried to behave kinda like Antarc, etc.
those were Phos' old heels, so that's somewhat inaccurate.
The old moon shoes had that tiny hole thing to shoot gold out better, but the shoes that are part of his current outfit (they're connected to the legs) don't have any function like that. They're just normal shoes, and Phos broke the heels of them on the night raid to force out the gold from his foot.
Also the moonies have at the moment covered up his feet's gold veins with whatever "skin" compound they use I guess.

It seems likely that the moon-Earth and back course is sort of pre-set, but we've never even gotten a hint about how lunarians actually move it around once they're on Earth and the vessel has opened. We've only seen that the external floating lotus seems to emanate from the central piece like it's folded into it, pic related seems to show that the black/iridescent camo material is artificially injected by the moonies. Since the warriors can't seem to talk inside the vessel, it's very likely that they fill it with an Earth-like atmosphere to avoid sudden pressure shock.

Phos going into the sea necessitates something big happening such that Phos isn't either captured, murdered by Cinnabar and then captured, or retrieved by the lunarians. Unless Phos' plan works and the lunarians are just going to go away and the rest of the story will be spent trying to get back onto the moon to get everyone else back down or something similar, but that would also be pretty crazy

Ichikawa does that a lot, where she just redraws the entire thing instead of copy pasting.
