I never saw the show before outside of a couple episodes at a friends house one day a long time ago, but I absolutely despise when people do this kind of shit. It upsets me so much when people that used to be funny many years ago and were so loved feel the need to go back on their old jokes. Maybe I'm just insecure, but it feels like they're putting the audience down for thinking that their work was ever funny and that now they have this snooty air to them that turns me off of their work from here on out.

No. Watch it from season 1. The last 4 or 5 seasons have had a remarkable drop off In quality but even at its worst it’s still funnier than garbage like the office with its obnoxious

Not at all. They actually attempted to (and did a good job) of not making too many pop culture references and jokes that would "date" the show. The show is genuinely hilarious for 11 seasons before the real quality drop hits.
