He did not brainwash anyone

The reason his prequel reviews were so popular is because everyone who liked them already had the same opinions as him.
If you think everybody can be easily swayed just by watching a YouTube video, then you probably believe those were not the droids you were looking for.

they were popular because they were funny, and he's good at masking his complete lack of any actual analysis with jokes
he never actually made a critique of the movie that wasn't just asserting it was 'boring' or 'stupid' then moving on

… okay

Mauler was funnier

counterpoint: the hundreds of thousands to millions of people who now genuinely believe in a flat earth because of youtube videos

fuck no

globecucks malding

The plinkett videos swayed me, until Rick Worley’s videos made me realize I was right to like the prequels the first time

Faggot reddit latter media loved the force awakens, they're not allowed to have opinions.

Thanks for proving my point, genius. Now, move along.

Even as a kid, I liked the OT VHS tapes better.

Pretending to like the prequels is the same vibe as zoomers pretending to be christcucks.

>loved the force awakens
Because it was actually well made, and the characters actually felt like real people.

t. idiotic prequelcuck

His critiques were spot on, not his problem you were too stupid to understand them.

Name 3 actual points he made in those reviews that weren't jokes or opinions

Stop fanboying YouTubers. He's no different than Mauler with his critiques.

Yes, there were directing flaws in the prequels, left and right.
But what difference does it make?
At least the prequels were the authentic products of one man doing his best to create something.
At least they were real.
Unlike the anti-life satanic garbage we are inundated with now.

>Gigabrain take
The prequels were unwatchable trash, but they had heart.

>too stupid
This coming from the eceleb who unironically couldn't understand the plot of the Prequels?

1. There's no emotional context between the characters fighting lightsaber battles. In the originals they were interesting because there was a lot going on between the characters. In the prequels they're boring because the characters have no real depth.

2. Everything Quigon Jinn did was retarded. He says "we don't want to attract attention", then brings Jarjar Binks along for some reason.

3. Made Yoda fight a lightsaber battle, which contradicts everything about the force we learn from the empire strikes back.

No, you're just an idiot who likes the garbage prequels, and can't handle the fact that they were completely discombobulated by Plinkett.

jar jar binks is based

>This coming from the eceleb who unironically couldn't understand the plot of the Prequels?
Why don't you describe the plot of the Phantom Menace in detail right now, then try to explain how it's good, idiot?

Plinkett made his case, and it was excellent and spot on. Why haven't you? Why is it retards like you only ever screech about Plinkett correctly hammering those movies, yet you're too stupid to refute anything he says?

This.
They were a cluster-fuck of originality.

Watch the Alex Jones review. He explains why those movies in particular are kino

>Why don't you describe the plot of the Phantom Menace in detail right now
Palpatine arranges a crisis on Naboo to manipulate the senate into making him Chancellor, meanwhile Qui Gon and Obi Wan find Anakin
Literally what about this is too complicated for a grown man to understand?

prequels suck. but at least they have a soul

Nah, they were well presented & it was one of the first long-format video essays, so it had a novelty factor "wow a two hour youtube video that's crazy xD"
plus people love negativity

>No, you're just an idiot who likes the garbage prequels
I haven't watched a single soiwars movie or series.

No, they weren't. Rey was a bland character with no personality or motivation of her own, she had no connection to any of the cast there and had no reason to be part of them. Finn's concept wasn't even original and was handled poorly. Stormtroopers shouldn't even be in the sequel, It undermines the originals accomplishment. Kylo Ren felt more a like saturday cartoon villain than an actual human being. Poe was alright but had screentime less than the fuckings jawas in A New Hope.

>Palpatine arranges a crisis on Naboo to manipulate the senate into making him Chancellor
I asked you to describe it in detail for a reason you idiot. Being the mentally defective retard you are, you've provided only a brief summary.

How about going into detail of how he's creating a crisis? Or why? You see, Plinkett explored these plot elements in great detail, which is why his argument for why the movies are bad is so strong. This is why he's a far more intelligent critic than a retard like you will ever be.

Uh . . . Plinkett bros? . . .

>kino
Seeing you use this word is all the evidence I need that you're a moron who can be safely discarded.

>How about going into detail of how he's creating a crisis? Or why?
he's a sith, lord?

I'm still waiting for anyone, just one person on Yea Forums to refute this well-constructed point of Plinkett's:

(timestamped at 5:56)
youtu.be/ORWPCCzSgu0?t=356

He vocalized the same opinions I held since I was seven and seeing the shitquels in the cinema and being fucking mad about how little sense they made. Like how they never make any of the dozens of easy solutions to leave Tatooine work or how contrived it was to begin with. Or how basically the entire movie is just one pointless filler into another as nothing really matters. The entire war did not matter. The jedi negotiating did not matter,. The trip to coruscant did not matter. They just pulled out an army out of their anus. Oh, and that climactic battle did not matter in the slightest either, as the dumb kid just blundered into winning. Hell, not even the jedi dueling Dart Maul mattered, the outcome was totally pointless.

In fact, just as RLM said, the entire prequel trilogy could have started in the elevator at the start of the second episode. This is just dogshit screenwriting

>complains that the choreography is good
oh fuck he's right prequelbros I can't refute this, the chreography WAS good

You where not 7. 17 yes.
I was 7 and loved it your lying.

What more do you need to know?

Good job missing the point smoothbrain.

>my subjective opinion is objectively right!

Don't worry, I already know you're retarded, you needn't continue.

Based if true.

I am seeing hope in humanity after 10 years of nonstop globohomo, FUCK YES

George Lucas performed the cardinal sin of making a movie that wasn't self-insert bait for nerds and they crucified him for it

Attached: 1625591895600.jpg (2780x1156, 1.36M)

Here is another irrefutable point from Plinkett that really highlights a core issue of the prequels:

>I parrotted X videos, until I saw Y videos and began to parrot those instead
ngmi

Alot people got pissy at not everybody can become a Jedi. Not everyone is special get over it Gen-Xers.

>try watching the plinkett reviews
>in the very first part he claims that TPM is bad because it doesn't have a main character
>then tries to prove his point by getting all his friends to read scripted responses about how the characters are bad
This is the guy Yea Forums worships? This is middle-school tier criticism

Attached: 1650539444267.jpg (625x625, 81.01K)

>I was a dumb kid and I liked it reeee!

Lmao, imagine not realizing how dumb the entire movie is at 7. Even my 4 year old little sister asked if they are going to "hire Han Solo or something"

I bet Mike's liver looks like carbonite by now.

Oooh you're so smart did you play the oboe & read Ivanhoe too?

counter-counterpoint: views =/= likes

Why does Palpatine want the queen to sign this treaty to make the invasion legal, when that would end the crisis and remove the need to make Palpatine chancellor?

Who is the main character of Phantom Menace?

Anyone who was born in the prequel era knows this well. All these zoomers who watched CGI Clone Wars at age 5 have no idea what the climate of Star Wars fandom was like.

How would that end the crisis though? Naboo would still be under Federation control and people's faith in Valorum would be shook
The treaty was for the Trade Federation's benefit because they were pussies and wouldn't have gone along with it if they thought there would be consequences

RLM sold out to Disney

Jar Jar

I remember seeing Phantom Menace in the theatre in 1999 and having a steadily growing feeling of disappointment and second hand embarrassment.

Attached: rlm_is_dead.jpg (120x120, 5.93K)

>does not initiate events
>does not resolve events
>does not provide an audience-perspective

Qui Gon's the guy we spend the most time with and follow through most of the story, but you're missing the point.
Why does it matter if a movie doesn't have a 'main' character?

Plinkett tries to justify his point by saying that fantasy movies should all follow the same formula, and lists a bunch of directors that he thinks are 'allowed' to break convention, while conveniently forgetting that Lucas has ALREADY made a movie with an ensemble cast in American Graffiti to great effect.
Lucas even talks about how that influenced TPM in the director's commentary

Attached: 1531933042812.jpg (905x881, 266.42K)

For the first seven years of me watching RLM the only things I would watch were HITB and I would fast forward through the skits

Does Disney really mail cheques to youtubers

what’s with these midwits who have to pretend everyone doesn’t really disagree with them? how mentally fragile is this redditor?

The entire point of the critique was that they were barley even characters to begin with.

this makes you underage retards

>they were barley even characters to begin with
But that's brazenly untrue, Mike himself couldn't even critique the characters so he resorted to doing a joke segment where other RLM guys say the characters are bad

Qui Gon is one of the best characters in Star Wars, nothing some obese neckbeard says is gonna change that.

1999 was 23 years ago.

Yes yes user, "Deus Vult"

>uploaded almost twenty years ago
>prequel babies STILL seething
lol

Space Cop

yes yes old man, le skydaddy and the prequels raped my heckin childhood

>the prequels raped my heckin childhood
No, they did nothing of the sort.
They're just bad movies.
Doesn't mean I dislike them.
George Lucas gave it his all when he made them. He wasn't trying to trick anyone.

I think he is pretty spot on with the reviews. From the content, speaking about plotholes, inconsistencies and character construction and development to pacing and technical details, like the boring camera placement and overuse of CG.
If anything I dont like the 'plinkett' stuff, is boring and making jokes of dead babies prevented me from recomending the reviews to normie friends

Qui-gon should have been Obi-wan from the beginning.

What does that even mean
