Data was badly writen. Acting skills made him interesting as an android wanting to be more human but he was a mess regarding in-universe logic. He was supposed to be extremely smart, efficient and able to calculate so much faster than any human... yet somehow struggle on finding basic words definitions. Sometimes he has superstrengh, sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he can take tons of damage, sometimes he can't... he should be boringly superior to everyone on board but they made him often retarded so the plot could go on.

Season 4 of Discovery as a complete story is decent, it just drags too much stretching the arc out.

DIS (and not STD, you don't call Voyager STV) tried to make season long stories with a deeper intrigue. No "Chakotee finds out American Natives were space travelers" episode. Also early Lorca.

Picard adds even more mystery about the season long plot and also had the merit to be set AFTER all the other shows, having the hard task to no contradict any previous shows or movies.

PIC for all its plot jambalaya has the final resolution of the Picard/Q antagonism and John de Lancie carried that scene to a height with stupendous delivery.

Waltz is my favorite episode of DS9 but Sisko botched that entire exchange like Gul Dukat was literally about to get redemption and complete his character arc but Sisko goes ape (no racism intended)

Yes actually. The galaxy is mostly empty space to very rarely would anything of note overlap while diagonal distances are of relatively little meaning in larger scales. It would however be more appropriate to point out that out that its unlikely that any faction would have anything resembling a border since there are no physical barriers in space and treaties between groups would most likely be on a planet by planet basis rather than by some spatial basis.

Will I like Strange New Worlds? I liked TNG and OS, Voyager and DS9 were ok. Watched 3 eps of Disco and hated it. Watched 2 eps of Picard and hated it. Didn't bother with any others.

Possibly. I know saying "it's the best of the new bunch" doesn't inspire much confidence, but not once while watching it was I utterly repelled like with STD and PIC.

They rescued Una and stppped a war on a planet they were making first contact with.
There were moments of light comedy without the episode being goofy.

Saw the last episode of Picard... I think I've got plot lash. They just suddenly wrapped everything up. Like nothing that happened mattered up to now, and it's just over.

The whole season could have been a single episode of Next Gen, and would have been better that way.
