Eccleston has always been against getting to comfortable in roles if you look back at what happened with his character in Cracker and what he's said about returning to Doctor Who in recent years. He doesn't like multi-doctor stories because he thinks they're too safe and nostalgia baity. If 9 were to come back on screen he'd have to be a one man show.

I'd be down for some kind of short/special similar to what they did with McGann for 50th anniversary desu.

Never from official sources, but the first block of production Eccleston did on Doctor Who was with a director called Keith Boak. Not only was Boak a shit director (most of the footage had to be reshot later because the original stuff was unwatchable) but there was apparently one incident where he broke safety violations just to get a shot of a burning sofa flying out a window. Eventually this reportedly culminated in a fight, physical or otherwise, between Eccleston and Boak.

The director for the first block of episodes was shit to the crew and for the filming of Rose there was some accident with a flaming sofa that Eccleston wasn't impressed by either. Then there's also what we know now about Noel Clarke and John Barrowman which might've rubbed him the wrong way too, maybe others we don't know about. RTD was under pressure to get that first series made so when Eccleston voiced his concerns they overlooked them basically so he decided he didn't want to carry on after series 1 had been filmed.

What pissed off Eccleston the most though I think was that they announced him leaving without telling him or anything and he was blacklisted. I don't know how much of that was RTD or someone higher up though because he assured Chris they wouldn't say anything. I think Eccleston made enemies at the BBC being the no nonsense type he is but RTD was more complacent like a lot of people working there were.

Imagine if they did an episode where the 14th Doctor reunites with Susan.

There was a brief special released before The Christmas Invasion (Tennant's first episode) that had the new Doctor commenting that he was noticeably thinner than before. Eccleston was slim just like Tennant so this line didn't make much sense, but it didn't seem to strange. However in recent years we learned that Eccleston suffered from several disorders like anorexia/bulimia and intense body dysmorphia thinking he's fat so it's a bit cuntish to have the new Doctor implying that he finally lost some weight.

Also The Christmas Invasion episode shows the Doctor destroying a character's career by saying "don't you think she looks tired" to imply that she is insane and unstable and not fit for work. This does work as a dig towards Thatcher but it gains new meaning when you learn about Eccleston's blacklisting which happened very recently before this episode. Eccleston said in an interview
