Just saw it, KINO AS A FUCK

Just saw it, KINO AS A FUCK
It's a genuine, authentic retelling of the old Icelandic saga, no changing history to fit modern culture, no bullshit

I think we might never get another movie like this again

Someone's mad.

Oof.

I also enjoyed it.

All seems good......really

It literally ripped off Hamlet almost page for page
You nordcucks have no sense of originality or shame

This is a boring piece of shit with a horrible actor in the lead role. Hopefully we won't get another movie like this, but instead a better one

you forgot your meme arrow therefore you say that and look like that

meh, its on the same line as vvitch...demoralizing somehow, ideal for pseudo-intellectuals ... beginning is good than its just plain boring an stupid

Don’t care about snowniggers. People still talk about 300. Medchads stay winning

We get it dude, you're voting for trump

so fucking mad he can't even green text properly
fucking state of you reddit tourists

I thought it was quite good, but felt a bit weaker towards the end
Not as good as Lighthouse or Witch, but still a solid flick

Boring as fuck just rewatch the revenant. I thought it was going to be a viking epic.

>ripped off hamlet
Shakespeare drew inspiration from a couple chapters in a larger Icelandic saga
that is the material used to inspire this film

This image collapsed pol

Hamlet was literally inspired by this saga you anglo retard

>raw meat
>it's ground beef
fail

chef here
previous kitchen I worked in we did a steak tartare and I prepared it. I would finely dice it up from a couple cuts of steak we had delivered each day
I wouldn't have a problem eating that, and did taste it every time I plated it up, because I know its fresh and I know who prepared it
mince from your butcher or supermarket is a whole different story
you dont know what the working conditions are or the whether they monitor their fridge temperatures or how long its been there

I really wanted this to be good, but it is indisputably not kino. You're really just turning off your brain if you claim otherwise. It's basically a B movie. Hopefully he delivers with whatever he does next.

what didn't you like?

So did The Lion King and no-one gave that movie shit for it.

I especially liked that part where some white man killed another white man, so fucking based am i right

Lmao

Good for a movie of today's standards. Had this been released around 2000, pile of shite.

it couldn't have been made in 2000, Gladiator was made in 2000 and its what restarted the sword and sandal/historical epic genre

Really good film. I'll wait for the digital version, because there are so many good scenes and details I probably have missed and this movie begs for a rewatch.

I would like to see an extended cut of this. I want to see more of Amleth's village and their traditions. (probably irrelevant to the plot but I found the early parts of the movie really interesting).

I liked the pacing too you don't see many movies like this nowadays. Too bad when I was watching it I couldn't help but think "retards are going to find this movie boring".

>Too bad when I was watching it I couldn't help but think "retards are going to find this movie boring".
The 'this is slow and nothing happens therefore I'm smart for watching it' has rotted people's brains. They don't even need people to tell them it's boring anymore they simply imagine it to get their 'I'm superior' dopamine rush

It wasn’t that image, I actually just told /pol/ to knock it off and they listened. They even sent me some apology mail

Based.

I know so many college educated film maker wannabes who just try to be as artsy as they can and that means make a terrible movie about incestw8grv

Worst offenders were the dialog and performances. The lead actor can't sell this type of material, and the words he had to work with were already subpar. Just bald exposition and hackneyed clichés. I know there's a blur between reality and a sort of magical realm, but the shit he gets away with in the camp, the way he gets away, the convenience of so many things was just bad writing. Also, the shots were nice, but the fights in the action scenes felt stilted. I'm all for a slower, more realistic type of fight, I loved Rob Roy, but this took me out of the flick. The production and cinematography are undeniably quality, and I think that's what kind of tricks people into overlooking all of these glaring flaws. Like I said, knowing it's an arty director with a growing reputation and seeing the pleasing visuals, a person will just turn off their brain to excuse the rest.

>whites still coping hard over this flick

Nonsense. I don't feel "superior" for watching a movie. I like to watch , for example fast-paced Superhero movies, not really a fan but I appreciate them. My problem relies when people just watch a movie like this and go "oh this is boring as fuck, it's shit" and inmmediately disregard everything about it. Some people just don't give this type of movies a chance anymore.

Had it been 20 minutes shorter and the exoteric stuff left just a little more ambiguous it would've been perfect. The dialogue is sometimes stilted because it's meant to be, it's perfectly viable when it needs to.

If the shoe fits

we could get nuked at any moment, people have much more to care about than art trash

lol

>we could get nuked at any moment, people have much more to care about
You're aware you're solving Captchas and waiting 60 seconds to post anonymous opinions on an anime capeshit imageboard, right?

dialog with other people is more valuable than this waste of time flick

tits or gtfo

That's a actually a good comparison for what the movie was selling itself as. Revenant is everything I thought this would be.

Movie of the year so far.

Find God.

This dude had a great performance, exceptional delivery

How much cocaine do you snort on the job?

I respectfully disagree. Skarsgård gave the best performance of his career, easily and Ayyfu was good as always in addition to the rest of the supporting cast. I was never taken out of the film by the dialogue. In fact, I would have liked the entire film to be in Old Norse (barring the Old East Slavic scenes), but focusing on trilling Rs and having proper pronunciation was good for me. I will admit that these elements are elevated by the gorgeous cinematography and excellent score, but I never thought they were hokey. My immersion was never broken for even a second in the film.

He has the best performance in the film besides Skarsgård and probably the most nuanced.

It should have been 3 hours long, the painful editing Eggers had to go through is evident in this movie, we jump from some scenes without any context beforehand, like from Russia to Iceland transition.

Fuck normies with spear in their ass and the studio that pressured Eggers to cut it more than he felt like.

Imagine being this low testosterone
>REEEE FUCK CAPITALISM AND PROFIT JUST MAKE MOVIES FOR ME REEEE REEE LE NORMIES LE BAD LE STUDIOS LE BAD AAAASS EGGERS GIVR ME YOUR SLOW BURN CUM

>we jump from some scenes without any context beforehand, like from Russia to Iceland transition.
What? What other context do you need? Literally the first scene of every single act gives you all the context you need. Which part you had trouble understanding?

easy on the sugar, user

It is obvious that there is an hour missing, at the first part in the village with young Amleth, probably more Hawk and Dafeu scenes and at Russia with Amleth hanging out with his berserker bros.

We barely even see Nicole Kidman in the second part, the studio wanted to make this into a pure action movie and it shows.

I thought he gave the best performance in the entire movie.

And you are surprised that a movie would cut out an extra, unnecessary hour of footage?

>It's a genuine, authentic retelling of the old Icelandic saga

amleth is saxo grammaticus, dane

the icelandic "ambales saga" is a dogshit 17th century loose adaptation of saxo, and was not the basis for the film

and as it turns out, the film didn't follow saxo either. apart from two character names and the general revenge plot, the film:

>relocated the story from 6th century denmark and england to a tiny mystery north atlantic island and iceland
>dropped the central conceit of the entire fucking story, which is amleth feigning madness to go undetected as he plans his revenge (also the story element shakespeare's rendering focused on)

so there.

fpbp lol

There wouldve been trees and shrubs in Iceland in 900 Ad.

I like slow movies where nothing happens but The Northman was a zoomerpaced movie full of action and plot twists. It's not the 7th seal or some shit.

>ideal for pseudo-intellectuals
Unlike the real intellectuals that call it out.

nothing: the post.

I don't get it, are anons trying to roleplay as retards now?
