The first row are derided by comicbook purists for not being accurate while the bottom two are considered the most comic accurate live action adaptations of their respective characters by purists.
So what is it Yea Forums? Which approach is better? Personally I find it funny that every new adaptation that gets praised for comic accuracy turns out to be mediocre.
actually I liked all of those except bot right, and there are so many different interpretations of these old ass characters that have been written by hundreds of different people that it's a bit silly to say "comic book accurate"
Cooper Ramirez
What are you talking about? I haven't seen the batman movie yet but how is the new spiderman accurate to the comics when he was being mentored by iron man for the majority of the time?
Christopher Wright
I've not read any comicbooks(I've only seen the animated series) but is that all it is for Batman? The character seems painfully dull and the writing is juvenile. If The Batman is truer to the source material then I'd say Nolan and Bruce Timm did you guys a favor.
Luke Sanchez
>when he was being mentored by iron man for the majority of the time? Don't ask me. Ask the purists, from what I've observed the consensus is Tobey is the least accurate while Holland is the most accurate.

Source? Hope you're not talking about Twitter "purists".
Josiah Ross
When they go for comic accurate they kill the movie
Jace Diaz
The bottom Spider-Man sucks shit and is the antithesis of what Spider-Man is about.
Luis Scott
Nah, only the twitter crowd which obsesses over petty shit like Ra's being a literal immortal or Tobey having organic webshooters say the top row isn't comic accurate. They got the essence of these stories even if they ignored the minute details.
John White
t. seething capeshit consoomer who has never read a comic in his life

Twittet, Yea Forums, forums like comicvine and plebbit.

You have no clue what you're talking about.

>Nolan lel
Aiden Murphy
>the consensus is Tobey is the least accurate I blame the Ultimate for this. Tobey is the most accurate representation of the 616 (prime, the first, the one and only) Peter Parker.
Adam Cruz
It's hardcore comicbook fans making these arguments big guy.
Brandon Young
It's reddit faggots who started reading shit modern comics 5 years ago. The real comics are nothing like MCU trash.
Levi Gutierrez
>Tobey is the most accurate representation of the 616 (prime, the first, the one and only) Peter Parker. Sorry user but thats Andrew
Austin Ramirez
Spider-Man, maybe. Peter Parker, definitely not.
Brayden Butler
I read some recent comics and was surprised by how fagbait-y newer designs are. I don't remember Robin/Knightwing being this effeminate.
Caleb Butler
Copium.
Aiden Garcia
You're retarded and your bait is shit OP
Luke Torres
I'm glad Raimi basically just kept the soul of spider-man and nothing else. He told a great story while not caring about comic accuracy and it was all the better for it.
Tyler Cooper
You're telling me that it's not the consensus among comicbook nerds that The Batman is the most comic accurate adaptation to date?
Dylan Gonzalez
>how is the new spiderman accurate to the comics Because the previous two incarnations were so far away from the comics that this one is considered extremely comic accurate just for getting closer than the others
Jace Torres
What were the inaccuracies in Tobey's Spider-Man and what makes Holland closer?

I knew comicfags were full of shit when they bitched about organic webbing. It's way fucking cooler than the web shooters.

>Tobey is the most accurate representation of the 616 >Andrew is the most accurate representation of the 616 HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH. No. Holland mogs them both quite easily in terms of being an accurate Peter and Spider-Man, maybe Tobey is the closest for most of the first half of his first movie but that's it.
Lincoln Thompson

Jose Anderson
>muh accuracy Tobey and the other jew were better Peters and spider-mans than Holland.
Jace Young
It has way better cinematic potential as well, as we saw in SM2.
Sebastian Powell
>Holland mogs them both quite easily in terms of being an accurate Peter and Spider-Man, how? i've only read 80s spidey comics and I don't see it.
Landon Brooks
Matter of the fact is Spider-Man has never properly been adapted on the big screen. Peter Parker is a dweeb who grows up to be a chad, and is never a pushover, doesn't let anyone run over him. You either get a Peter who's already a chad or a Peter who's always a dweeb.
Ryan Hill
Read older comics
Jackson James
Comic book accuracy is a meme argument used by marveltroons when DC releases its once in five years capekino. They said it about TDK, they said it about Joker and they're saying it about the batman. Guess what, the movie needs to be good and most western comics are pure shit
Charles Smith
Why not make an original IP if you are embarrassed of the comics?
Joshua Williams
Because this way you can use what's good about the characters, discard what's shit and win european awards and fuck european sluts on a yatch in Ibiza while drinking champagne
Carson Baker
>change means you're embarrassed guess batman should look and act like he first did 80 years ago
>only good thing about Joker is his name Bravo Nolan
Charles Nelson
That's not what he said retard. Nolan captured the essence of joker better than comic did, and he made him better.
Julian Garcia
Getting filtered by the likes of nolan and todd phillips isn't normal, please take care user we're worried
Levi Barnes
I like Noland I am just making fun of Philip's soulless Joker movie that is only popular because of Nolan
Asher Jones
Three years seething at Joker being better than all MCU movies and winning awards marvel will never get, sounds like it's time to move on. Just get Phillips to direct a marvel movie if they don't know how to do it, bam problem solved
David Roberts
Enjoy all your soulless capeshit slop Yea Forums, you deserve it
Adam Morales
Which runs did you read?
Camden Miller
Idk about Spidey but The Batman is just adaptation of Batman Earth One which was shameless film setup by Geoff Johns. Yeah it did bring some element of Year One/Long Holloween but only unimportant snippets like catwoman being black
Isaiah King
Only with SOVL you can have this kind of cultural impact however
I have read up to issue 700 of ASM alone nevermind all the spin off books user
Nicholas Allen
If The Batman was a comic it would be the worlds shittiest Batman comic and everybody would clown it

Comics are complete shit and always have been. The only comic series I’ve ever read that had any semblance of quality was Watchmen, and even then I found enjoyment in it unironically even though the author intended it to be a parody/satire. Anything written by Stan Lee especially is literal spoonfed political propaganda with no sense of propaganda. He took Kirby and Ditko’s drawings and storylines, gave it all a Yiddish voice, and shoehorned in actual, undiluted propaganda.
Jayden Jackson
