Looks like a PS5 cutscene now lol
Too many movies are doing this. I'm upgrading my 720s to 1080 and the newer bluray rips look like this muddy black mess. I end up keeping 5 GB 720s from 10 years ago that look better.
The second one is more realistic and true to reality
looks pretty cool
The first one looks better, though.
the top has that fake HDRI bloom look that was so popular in the mid 2000s. It always looked like shit and im glad they fixed it.
Vidya ruined movies.
the bottom picture was taken with a cell phone.
no it doesnt
>muh realism
movies aren't about experiencing reality. it's about telling a story.
realism stands the test of time
Looks like a PS3 cutscenes
I still haven't watched the 4k blu rays of LOTR, but I remember the blu rays had a fucking awful blue filter on them, or at least Fellowship did
reminds me of when autismos got mad they removed the green filter from the first Matrix film in the 4k remaster, when it was never actually in the original theatrical cut or the first DVD release but was a Lucas-tier revision for the blu ray
that's the opposite of the truth
give me one example where it doesn't
no
Bible movies
First one looks like mexico
If you think the bottom pic looks better then you have no soul.
the bottom is how it looked in the theater
the top is how the home releases looked
people have more history with that version
similar story with The Matrix
It really doesn't
Really? I do remember the movie being absolutely fucking amazing in the theatre though I can't remember the color though.
Why not release both
So you say the home release so superior
no he said the home release has the yellow mist, can you read?
The aggressive, muddy filter was never good. A color correction would be much appreciated.
But the second pic looks like an old video game where they slapped HDR on it and called it a day.
>le hazy atmospheric blur where I can't tell where the sun is coming from
No thanks
Fallout3 filter was kino
Apparently the 4ks have removed that awful blue filter
Top look like they're fighting in the desert and Sauron just dropped mustard gas on them
daily reminder that the remaster actually looks good, and to disregard any smartphone pic trying to "capture" HDR
no, it doesn't. It looks like hazy piss
>muh piss filter
>we're going to make everything yellow so the audience knows the scene takes place in Mexico
>realism stands the test of time
okay give me 5 true films that were made in the 1930's that are treated as realistic classics then.
ngl remastered looks pretty tight
Literally SOULLESS, where is the artistic merit in this???
The first one itself already has a piss filter you idiot.
i gives it a dreamlike/magical feel which fits with lotr way more than that shitty overdetailed playstation cutscene below.
>doesn't have clear piss
Yikes
true realism has never been done before...
>10 years from now this will be taught in film schools as the prime example of how NOT to remaster a master piece
They didn't learn from the matrix and they removed the filters.
>Where's the brown and bloom?
All the crack makes me dehydrated
>dreamlike/magical feel
riiiiight it totally doesn't look like thsit
did they cgi his eyes blue in every scene when he wasn't wearing his contacts?
The second one is better your nigger
Fuck your shitty filters
woooow
soul vs soulless
here's your epic soulful artistic merit kino sir
Bottom looks more filmic, but neither look great.
why do people hate unrealistic colour correction now? My extended DVDs have the fantasy colour grading and I think it works fantastic. the 4K versions removed it and while they look truer to life I don’t necessarily think that improves the movies. I prefer the shire looking like a heightened fantasy location with vibrant colours
dipping the filmrolls in piss is not "artistic"
lol its always been such a terrible decision to cast Agent Smith as the elf wtf were they thinking
>true to reality
Oh you live on Arda? Yeah shut the FUCK UP
fucking kek
The remaster actually looks good through a smartphone pic too, just don't have some garbage black friday chink TV/smartphone.
Both of those images are photos taken from a fucking phone, of an uncalibrated tv screen. You're all low IQ
What does that have to do with crack making me dehydrated
literally the opposite. the most stylised stuff ages better because it isn’t trying to look real, so dated effects etc don’t matter, it’s a unique reality that can’t really date because there’s nothing supplanting it are more real.
Yea Forums:
>nooooo you can’t put filter and bloom in your movies it has no sovl
also Yea Forums:
>nooooo you can’t remove the filter and bloom in your movies it has no sovl
...
i assume nigger, therefore low IQ
>didn't quote me even once
I accept your concessions realitycucks.
Bible movies are all classics that dated amazingly. Ten commandments is utter kino
That still has nothing to do with phones, dumbass
>Yea Forums is one person
also Yea Forums:
>is not one person
HDR photography minimizes bloom
go back to Yea Forums
based.
Most Ultra HD stuff is just upscales anyway
>definitely no hivemind here boys
Yes, my bad, I thought he was asking for non-realistic movies that stood the test of time.
This needs to be in 4x3 to maintain the director's vision
Honestly?
Good thing they don't remaster books.
all the events depicted happened
Honestly?
I'm with you, just turn up the piss filter to eleven, drench everything in urine
Also add a shit filter on top of it, now this is high fantasy
