I don't think I've ever seen a worse ending in manga. Isayama does a complete fucking 180 in character development for the vast majority of characters. It's horrendous. I honestly hope the anime gets a different ending. AoT is worse than Bleach and almost as bad as Gantz. Actually, no, Gantz had been bad for 100 chapters by the time it ended, while AoT was kino up until the last 5, which are so bad they retroactively ruin the series.

Right after chapter 123 when he declared the rumbling he got all the feedback and decided to ruin the manga in response, make Armin the main character, forget about Eren, cringevenger save the world storyline, ruin all character development and then end of series on a wet fart of nothingness.
It was just really weird and jarring. They were having a deep conversation about Eren's motivations and then this shit just takes up half a page. I honestly thought it was Eren using humor to lighten the mood but it was meant to be a legitimate declaration of love. The comic then immediately pivots back to the serious conversation.

Eren also baits her attempting to see if he CAN change the future, back when he asked her "What am I to you", she family zoned herself instead of saying "I want a romantic, not platonic relationship". And to him, she said exactly what she was 'meant' to say in his future sight, so according to him everything was from then utterly set in stone. Entire story is comical because all she had to do was 'be brave' and make a sexual move, he'd respond and Ymir would kill herself (though now they'd be without titans, so they'd get curb-stomped soon.
