This. All my friends and social media feeds were into MCU and now hardly anyone talks about it, except for Spider-Man. They only liked the original characters, none of the new ones seem to be getting hype and the fact that they are now exclusively casting minorities and hiring minorities as writers/directors is causing the quality to go to shit.

It probably has longer than anyone would like, but Marvel is starting to get to the literally who characters. Their brand alone might've lifted things like GotG in the past, but Chang-Shi, Eternals and the Disney+ stuff suggests it ain't what it used to be.

I thought End Game would've been the end until the Spiderman movie made all the money in the world. Though that was a "break in case of emergency" type situation where that movie had a lot of nostalgia riding on it.

Capeshit has managed to ruin cinema because it has created an army of brand loyalist millennials/zoomers that are addicted to endless quips,bright colors, black n white morality and meaningless, overblown action scenes and cannot sit their asses to watch actual kino movies anymore. I know that this kind of brand recognition is every company's wettest dream, but cinema had soul because nobody had found that formula before marvel movies came along.
I think that cinema theaters now are in need of capeshit in order to survive, especially in the era of streaming. If capeshit movies die out, the theaters might follow as well

After this new Doctor Strange I'm starting to think Marvel is going in the wrong direction. There's so many characters in this movie, you'll have to watch all these different tv shows and movies to even know who these characters are. These constant crossovers and the need to know about all these other characters you don't care about stories in order to understand what's going on with the character you do care about is what ended up killing marvel comics. Eventually the main audience for these movies will get too old to keep up with everything that's happening, and the new audience won't want to watch 50 different movies and tv shows to understand what's happening. I predict that once capeshit dies there's going to be a big push for stand alone self contained movies.
