been watching since about 2007 ish or 08, It was one of the shows you watched with simpsons and south park, but to those it was a little more tame and good for chuckles at the time, nowadays its just too soft on every topic, and you can tell they have to hold back in the jokes and ideas. they still have a good setup but having to police your words ruins the creativity and unexpectedness of it that made it really interesting in the first place.

They hired unfunny fat brahmin women to write the show. Rob is a coward and sacrificed quality for Hollywood points. I don't care about their politics, the writing is simply bad and there are no jokes. This might be honorable if they wanted to kill the show, but I think they realize it's the only thing they've got at this point and Rob genuinely thinks the writing is adequate. They should literally just hire Nick Mullen to write the show.

The first two or three episodes are woke crap, but it gets a little better after that.

First season is absolutely one of my top indisputable best fucking tv shows ever, Danny DeVito coming in and Dee wanting to be a crazy character like the rest turned into a different show, still a good show, but not as good as that first season. I only wish the guys and their team saw the first season the way many others like us see it, but they only seem to regret it deeply and be ashamed even when they made it completely as a satire and purely comedic, it's gold.

They dropped the ball completely this last season 15, you can clearly tell everyone writing just gave up, started addressing dated twitter drama directly and canonizing all the memes and flanderization from fan perception and whatever reddit says.
But of course, they've 100% been running out of steam for several seasons now, it's still enjoyable, but not as much as before

Can somebody tell me, what's Frank character? What's his deal? What's his thing? How do you define him as a character? I mean, the rest of the gang have their place, purpose, reasoning, character, is Frank just the free ticket to whatever the gang wants to do? Is he just the oil for the machine to keep running? I mean he just hangs around, like a keychain, what's his role in the gang's dynamic? What does he bring to the table that makes him stand out and make him a necessary character for the jokes, the storytelling and whatever?

I felt that way until this season. I'll just skip the rest of the episodes. Even the absolute shit that seasons 11-14 were, a few episodes were worth watching (14 barely qualifies there). I chuckled at fifteen like 3 times throughout all 8 episodes but felt the need to finish it. I'm glad it crossed the threshold into unwatchability and I can be done with it.

He is, loosely, a hedonistic agent of chaos with limitless funds. They play up the dementia so that he can, in a pinch, be whatever the episode needs which makes him the most poorly defined.
