>Are we brothers, Francis?
Fucking kino. Loved this show. Still haven't gotten around to the second season but I heard it was not good.

it's a completely different story
and yeah it's bad
s1 is all you need to watch

I was pleasantly surprised going into this for the first time after my coincidental rewatch of Rome. Had a sensible chuckle when they referenced Caesar at dinner.

They changed too much from the book. Lady Silence can speak for fucks sake and there's no scene where Crozier gets a handjob in a platypus pond

So does anyone have the chart with the different characters?

>Crozier gets a handjob in a platypus pond
kek please elaborate
Are there more noteworthy differences?

This one?

Thank you my friend. Exactly what I meant.

>called Goodsir
>is a good sir

Attached: download.jpg (188x268, 7.04K)

the only characters that matter anyway are Franklin, Crozier, Fitzjames, Hickey, Goodsir and Blanky, I didn't learn the names of anyone else until after I finished the show

>Bridgens trying to motivate Pelgar as the situation grows more dire by the day
>speaks of Anabasis by Xenophon
>but they MADE it, Henry

Fuck I wish the quote was easily accessible.

>This is Xenophon. In Greek the title is Anabasis, which translates to "The March of the Ten Thousand." Do you know the story?
>No.
>When Cyrus the Younger wanted to seize the throne of Persia from his brother, he hired an army of hoplite to accompany him. They won the battle, but during the fighting Cyrus was killed, which rendered the expedition obsolete. His army found themselves in hostile country. Most of their officers were dead. They had to choose. They could either stay and fight against clearly unwinnable odds, or they could walk out. They walked for hundreds and hundreds of miles through desert and snow, with no food, and attacked on their flanks. But they made it, Henry. Read it.

>in season 1
There's no season 2.

>ywn be a British lad in Eton learning ancient Greek by translating Xenophon

Watch The North Water when your done with The Terror. It's almost the same, but shorter, intense and minus the supernatural shit

there is tho

It's fucking brilliant, where did you hear that?

I see.
I stand corrected, user.

second season has a different vibe, it's not ~terrible~ and some of the WWII stuff was neat but it doesn't hold a candle to S1

Where can I watch this?

Inb4 torrent. No, I am not a criminal

Good cast.

Who's that between Collins and Armitage?

>william Gibson
Soul.

I thought it got kind of shit towards the end. They didnt act like 19th century people more like modern people, i cant see why anyone would follow Hickey

boypussy

The mutiny at the end is done on more balanced terms.
Dr Good sir doesn't die a bitch but a hero.
Last couple chapters are about the Indian spirits and what the fucking bear actually is.
Oh and the Terror gets torched

>ywn have fun raternal evening meals with your fellow royal navy officers in the mess of a warship on missions of exploration to expand your white christian empire
kill me

hell yeah bro who else here /boats/

I didn't realize the cast was this large

>No Greyhound

When was that made?

I'm the one who made this back when the show aired, happy it's still posted

2020 but it was garbage
>u boats making whale noises
>capeshit slow-mo torpedo dodges

how did a show with a fundamentally good man as the protagonist triumphing against an evil homosexual get greenlit?

it was a different time

>fundamentally good man
Irish.
Didnt even make him a real ulsterman

enemies becoming frieds is my favorite trope.
based
>ywn be as free as drax
literal ubermench

Hickey wasnt gay. He was just a psychopath who got off on dominating anyone in his path. He was only "gay" because there aren't any women available to dominate. You can see what I mean by his interactions with his "lover". They are never emotional. Affection was never freely given, it was always transactional. And when he goes against hickey, or even thinks about it, he gets punished. Hickey probably fucked Neptune when he ran off and "broke his leg", because it's about dominating and inflicting pain on others

maybe we will have that in some kind of VR.

This scene is fucking great, really pulls one's heart strings.

>just the good ol' boys...

Thank you, user. I loved that moment between them.

is season 2 worth watching? I heard it's trash compared to 1

no it's awful and I loved season 1

>british white guys the show
>is the best thing on tv in a decade
hmmm

It's atrocious. Nothing happens, the show.

weirdest thing they did it twice

Some of the performances of these lads are out of this world.

It has nothing to do with season 1.
They just tried to ride the name/fame.

Glad to see Horatio Hornblower on there. That show is an underrated gem I never see here.

Lt. Little I think

Nagaitis said in an interview that he played Hickey like he was gay and had genuine emotions for Gibson even though we only see the end stage of their relationship. It's debateable if Hickey loved him or just used it to manipulate but there are a lot of scenes where he does cutesy things for no reason

>des voeux
>good

There’s only one season

i'd just like to thank everyone for participating in a non-capeshit thread
