His take would be better than w/e garbage Nu Trek is doing this days.

>What people don't realize is that CBS/Paramount actually think they could make a Star Trek show.

Even having these knowledgeable "fans" as consultants would do a world of good. You know he'd do it for free as well.

You literally could not do worse than nuTrek.

Has Rich ever correctly predicted a plot?

He certainly knows more about TNG than any one in charge of STD or Picard.

>yfw Mike Trek happens, and it's Space Cop-tier garbage

If you say so mr anonymous i believe you

Mike doesn't realise how tv shows are made and funded. They made an actual democrat the president of earth. When they complain about all the writing issues, it is because they are being directed to insert immigration issues into the show to appease their rich overlords who devalue labor with migrant workers.

Do you actually think kurtzman can make a star trek show? because I think a whole lotta people could make something better.

Because a team of people who could not be bothered to watch TNG or DS9 episodes that have something in common with the show or at least read Memory Alpha are better than a living Star Trek encyclopedia. I mean I get that you wanna tell your own stories but if the show is set in the Star Trek universe then you need to have at least someone in the writers room to be checking the scripts for problems like Guinan not remembering Picard where she met him in the 19th century. I was like wait a minute the writers don't know that Guinan first met Picard in the 19th century?

Mike seems to know the lore and understand the characters better than all the people working on Star Trek for the past 10 years combined.
I don't know if his show would be good but it couldn't be any worse.

Unironically, a much better pitch. Stay mad lads.

oooh shit wtf?!

I bet whole lotta people could make a better sandwich than Kurtzman, let alone a TV show.

This pitch was so painful cause I know it would never be made. It had everything you want from a modern TV show but stayed true to TNG and classic Star Trek lore.

And yet it's still parsecs better than nuTrek.

That shit is so baffling to me. Like you'd have to know about the Mark Twain episodes to know that Guinan is centuries old and lived on Earth.

I doubt anyone could make a worse Trek than what is on right now t b h.

But Star Trek is just a brand to them and the universe just a backdrop for handing out memberberries.

Good taste.

Also they were the only people to admit that Uncharted 4 was unbelievably boring.

Not even if they tried to.

I trust CBS/Paramount with getting the best writers possible for any new Star Trek product, they've proven themselves more than capable of creating new stories for old fans and new ones.

>Paramount/Star Trek actor goes on BOTW
>Mike suddenly decides that this is his last negative star trek review ever and he's "done" with the series even though these vids get millions of views

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Is Rich a LOTR fan? Why didn't they have him or Jack for the Hobbit 'sodes?

How the fuck is he still in charge anyway? Always infuriating to watch complete hacks fail upwards

That's a common sentiment innit? Yea Forums usually points to henning quitting/being dumped after 3 as to why 4 is how it is, which I took as "bad".

yes like 5 times at least.

He's literate and he doesn't hate the franchise, so why would he be worse than anyone who has worked on Star Trek in the last two decades?

On Yea Forums it is. Normies thought it was a masterpiece.

They don't bag much on the actors, they even praise them for doing what they can with what they given.
They only call out the really bad ones like the main Star Trek Discovery black chick that can only do the same face were she always almost crying at everything.

Why all the hate for these two? Is it ironic? I think they have good thoughts on Star Trek.

Do you think RLM is actually Jew blind or are they just smart enough to hide it? You can only get into movies for so long before you start noticing patterns

Alex kurtzman threatened to sue Mike for defamation and being a meanie head. Mike has no choice but to back down.

It didn't have enough Space battles and lasers to go into production

Star Trek Picard has some really good actors. The problem isn't the actors is the fucking script which is horrendous.

They do the "scummy producer" voice so often you'd figure they know exactly what they're imitating

Jurati, Rios and Seven are the highlight of Season 2, everyone else is shit so far. Particularly and surprisingly Patrick Stewart. He's far too old now. He looks confused in every scene.

>shadow of mordor for 1600+ hours
fucking HOW never mind why

no rich only thinks LOTR is okay. Jack is tasteless and thus loves LOTR

Who the fuck are these fuckbois? Why is this on Yea Forums?

just like any chud who thinks they can write a tv show because they get scared seeing a black person get cast in their children's entertainment product

Patrick Stewart has unironically been ruining star trek since the movies. It's crazy that the fanbase hasn't turned on him yet.

(((nepotism)))
does it seem unlikely that they couldn't find a better jew? sure, but it's not like he's the only one involved. seems like a gaggle of retards who'd never like anything like star trek has filled the available spaces. removing just him probably wouldn't change much of anything anyway.

>My mother (was pretty) hung, herself

True but he could at least act back then. Now he just fumbles into every scene and half-asses it.

It wouldn't be difficult to improve on Picard or Discovery. Just take a short story with an ethical or philosophical theme, put some aliens in it and make a self contained episode out of it. That's the formula for Star Trek if you do that it will at least be watchable.

Star Trek is not about Space Battles and Lasers. In Star Trek battles are done as if it was an RTS with Captains and Commanders giving orders like Open a Com Channel, Put ship on Yellow/Red Alert, Power Phasers, Raise Shields, Arm Photon Torpoedos. And then say things like execute delta formation. Its pretty dry and similar to how ships in the Navy conduct military operations due to Gene being a Naval officer back in the day. The drama comes not from crazy action scenes but how the crew reacts to the challenges and how they find a way to solve the problem at hand. Hell man to man combat was also done in a subdued low key way with grappling being used or phaser fire. Again like realistic military combat.

I like Spiner and de Lancie much more.

I honestly think world Jewry is just running short on competent Jews, but also needing to spread them out further due to the rise in antisemitism and increasing need to steer increasingly unwieldy narratives

I interpreted mikes metaphor as him realising that star trek has always been infantile cringey garbage and this shitpile of a show was the decaying corpse he needed to see to finally recognise this media franchise for what it actually is. Low budget day time tv written by failed sci fi writers, where none of the actors gave a shit. Instead of focusing on the feeling of inspiration the show gave him in his youth, the actual value media like this has (its effect on people in the real world), he like all fanboys focused on the meaningless fictional world itself and obsessed over it, never using it as material to create anything himself or enact any genuine project in his life. He forsook reality for the sake of the fiction that was meant to enhance and supplement the real world. What should have just been a beloved television program that inspired him to be a better person or to do something constructive with his life became an escapist pit to avoid recognising how his reality was stagnating for the sake of obsessing over fiction. The only road for people like that is turning their obsession into criticism and analysis for other like minded escapists, and he did that successfully. But the young mike who directed shitty movies with his friends probably dreamed of making movies himself one day, or working on a star trek show. He gave all that up to retreat into the world of a B tier sci fi soap opera and he is now seeing this for the first time fully. He has wasted his life. Star trek was never good.

Pretty good taste

Yeah Patrick Stuart is terrible in this. The dude looks confused all the time. It's like they are feeding him lines or something. I think William Shatner who is older than Stuart does not appear as confused when he is on camera this days.

Bro one of the best Star Trek shows DS9 had a black man as captain and nobody shits on that. That show was how you do Shades of Gray in a Star Trek show.

Mike and Rich for sure, Jay probably denies it

>FTL
based

mike would be awful at writing an actually good script for a star trek episode. he’s obsessed with it and probably wouldn’t make any contradictions to previously established canon, but he also isn’t very creative or intelligent and I doubt his ability to write compelling characters

Old Star Trek is really good. I always have it on the background while I do house chores or just want something to watch to chill.

good collection of good or at least not bad games. the 1600 hrs of shadow of mordor shows how lonely he is irl.

I agree but you can have him be your Star Trek guru that checks for things that wouldn't make sense in Star Trek.

holy lmfao at the 2 redditors who replied and called this good taste

Jay is increasingly homosexual as time goes on. I used to like him but now I just can't stand his uptalk and effeminate gestures

>Star Trek is not about Space Battles and Lasers
Yes I know user, i was being sarcastic.

He puts his PC on sleep mode while the game is still running. I would kill myself after 1600 hours of SoM or 900 hours of Mad Max (still a nice game).
