It was pretty good, definitely the best premiere of any Trek show. And I'm including the old Treks in that. Well-paced and the characters were likable.

UnIronically this. It took TNG 2 fucking seasons to get good, DS9 at least 3, Voyager never really got good but 7/9 raised the quality a few sesasons in. ENT only started getting good right before it got the axe. Disco I honestly feel finally found what it needed,,, in sesaon 4. Picard hasn't had anything good in 2 seasons yet.

I hope that wasn't the best episode. Picard S2 also started by going all out with all the new ships, the academy scene and the stuff on the Stargazer. SNW was still better than all of that, but I have the impression that we already got a lot of those trailer shots in the first episodes, with the Vulcan scenery, the Enterprise flying over the city, the new starbase, the flyby and the shuttle. What if the rest of the episodes get less CGI budget and worse scripts?

None of that was actually good, I swear people just got blinded by era-accurate ships and bridge scenes. The rest was awful. SNW actually hits the ground running.

It's not a meme Season 1 and 2 fucking sucked with maybe 3 good episodes in the whole lot. DS9 had a few good episodes early on, but it was a rough start, I remember watching it for the first time I almost quit after season 1.

Well that settles it, if these whores like it then I should like it too.

There's nothing wrong with liking the second season of TNG, it's all over the place in quality, but has a lot of great episodes.
