Is The Shield worth watching?
What sets it apart from thousands of cop dramas?

the hairfag on the right was sooo bad in Sons of Anarchy
The first two seasons are decent and some of the stuff with forest whitaker is but a lot of it is really tedious and stupid and chiklis is fucking terrible as an actor. Plus the camera is always 3 feet off the floor to give the illusion he’s not a manlet who would intimidate no one.
Gay blowjobs
picked up
The Forest Whitaker take is accurate. I stopped watching the show when he joined because every scene with him felt like 2 hours
and what after the first two seasons?
It’s good for a 1 time watch through if you have the time. It doesn’t lend itself to subsequent viewing though. I’ve watched stuff like The Wire, The Sopranos, BB etc... a couple of times even though I know what’s going to happen simply because the plots are interesting and the acting is good. With The Shield once you’ve experienced the story once and your process it you realise yeah the ending was great and an good payoff but that’s it’s. You watch the show for the payoff that it’s building towards. After you know the payoff you get board of the build up since on it’s own it’s not interesting. Unlike the other shows I mentioned in which the build ups are individually interesting in their own right
it's pure kino with the best finale in the history of television
BB is fairly boring as well once you know what happens
It's absolutely worth a watch.
It's stellar in a lot of ways, but was operating in a unique space where tv was still episodic bullshit so there's lots of pitfalls there. It's magnetic stuff and Goggins shines.
it's good. starts off cheesy but just gets better imo.
yeah worth the watch.
It is literally the ONLY cop show worth watching, it is so fuckin good. This was the start of the hardcore "this ain't your grandma's cop show" era, maybe kind of kicking off with NYPD Blue or before and ends up in the lineage toward Breaking Bad, but you will not be disappointed investing your time into it. It's fairly boiler plate as far as A, B, C storylines with the whole department but pretty much every character is watchable. Every season has really good hooks, and yeah Forest Whitaker can be difficult at times, but there are so many good moments with him and with all the guest stars (season 4 with Anthony Anderson and Glenn fuckin Close butting heads over the soul of the department is the tightest fuckin shit bro), but if anything you gotta watch it for all the crazy bullshit they were putting on network TV. Also the black uniform cop ended up shooting his wife a whole bunch of times IRL after the show ended and he's in jail now.
You WILL watch the greatest cop kino ever made - you WILL enjoy the morally dubious exploits of everyone on the Farmington district - you WILL hang on the edge of your seat during the entire last season.

lol
Why would anyone be frightened of this fat, eggheaded manlet?
he has a gun
Because he established a reputation of a sociopath with badge and a gun, who does not give a shit. All the while being a leader of a special team whose instructions are quite literally to not give a fuck.
he is worse than many of the criminals he hunts. but i guess thats the point
So do I
trying too hard user
Ok, Michael
above average in america
Tony Soprano like cop protagonist. It's an action show where you spend time with the bros (Strike Team). I've rarely encountered similar type shows that focus on almost constant action but maybe I should watch more shows.
Then you've got the case of the week detective cases with CCH Pounder and the incel Dutch that you relate to. This cases bring a nice balance to the Strike Team shenanigans.
Mess with the bull, you get the horns
yes
it's one of the few series that gets better with each season
yes. its kino
>Tony Soprano like cop protagonist
not every morally dubious person is "Tony Soprano-like". they dont have all that much in common
he was also in Dexter and he sucked balls. Truly a horrible actor, but it's a great show and he's great here
what the fuck is this lmao
>season 1, episode 3
>it's about a BLACKED white beauty and a jealous white cuck cop
Reading comprehension.
>le serious face
Because he's an armed cop with a license to fuck you up, the smarts to get away with fucking you up outside of his license, the ability to put you in jail, and a gang of ball-busters following his orders, and absolutely no moral code keeping him from doing whatever it takes to fuck you up.
It's a fantastic show, you can't help but root for Vic and the boys even though they're doing terrible shit. The season with Glenn Close was some of the best television ever.
>those scenes where they can't hide that Claudette is almost a foot taller than Vic and she's an old lady who doesn't even wear heels
Claudette was the true alpha nigga of the department.
>those scenes where Vic is walking and you can see his moobs jiggling
The only thing that ever mattered was the will to act, unironically. He’s scary because he has no compunctions and no restraints, so he can and will kill you for his own entertainment and you know he’ll get away with it.
>Is The Shield worth watching?
unironically better than the sopranos. this is when tv peaked.
Why didn't he just get gyno surgery?
>chiklis is fucking terrible as an actor
Watched the first episode a few weeks back and forgot how bad he really was. I don't remember what happens in the series so I might rewatch the whole thing.
zoomers wouldn't get it
The world it was made in just doesn't exist any more
I'm surprised no one has mentioned "they made you suck" or "niggerfaggot son".
Best finale of a show ever
>"they made you suck"
"Both???"
yes it's a fun watch.
Just watched the Pilot. Why did they have to kill Terry?
Vic had shady methods to hide, but nothing justifies killing another cop to hide it. Killing Terry is by FAR the worst thing he's done. Or am I missing something?
>Why did they have to kill Terry?
It's supposed to be the tone setter for the series iirc
No reason. It’s just a shit, unbelievable show.
it's good ive watched it three times, certain parts can drag for half an episode or so but it stays entertaining throughout and it doesnt turn into cartoonish stupidity like so many of the early "high quality drama tv" series like OZ and LOST eventually did. the most unbelievable thing is the main character being some chubby manlet badass but once you get past that it's very good. i also didnt like the pilot ep that much personally.
Why were Claudette and Dutch such gigachads compared to Vic and his goons?
claudette put the vudoo onto dutch to keep his turbo autism serial killer intellect on the path of righteousness. she didnt have lupus at all, it was a cover up for the witch doktor potions she routinely slipped into dutch drinks and food.
Glenn Close was shitty in that show
Worst character on this show. Followed by Glenn Close
First 3 seasons are solid copshit then it just falls apart.
Quit after they do the heist.
He's capable of three or four different facial expressions, that's his entire range, just awful.
absolutely not
it's gots the dude from the fantastic 4 movie with that chick that got the herp from Jeter. the one with the nice ass. also walton goggins for once not dresse up like a hooker.
The end is dumb because it's legally impossible. I won't spoil you.
