My favorite film of all time is Evil Dead II but I think the "Ash vs Evil Dead" TV show was awful, literally the big bang theory guest starring deadites.

How many episodes in did you go before you quit the show? The second season is invaluable to an ED2 fan

You didn't even like when they revisited the cabin and Henrietta and boom boom boom and RAAHHHH??

The cabin didn't do much of anything new and interesting and 90% of what it did do was just scenes from the movies again but worse, also all the atmosphere was gone, that's one of my biggest problems with the show, it has no atmosphere.
Henrietta was just a reenactment of her scenes from ED2 but with CGI and sitcom jokes, I could just watch ED2 again and get the same experience but better, same with Cheryl's episode and ED1.

Same. I love Evil Dead II, but the show was really bad. It seems like Bruce was portraying Ash the same way he portrayed himself in My Name is Bruce. The show seemed like a parody of itself.

I watched army of darkness yesterday.
It was seriously one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I completely tuned by the tiny Ashes part.
I get the first one becoming a classic and all, but why do people even like AoD?

AoD's alright but huge letdown after the first 2.

They turn down the violence and humor to appeal to a wider audience and it shows.

army of darkness is the best in the trilogy and it isn't even fucking close. only a turbo faggot can't into the sword and sorcery masterpiece that is army of darkness

a sales pitch? They turned a horror movie into a Chaplin-esque slapstick comedy that hasn't been funny since the 1920's. The whole thing is treading familiar grounds but without any of the suspense that made the original film enjoyable because they're too busy having the main character smash plates over his head, be given the middle finger by severed hand, and have a fat hillbilly retard constantly yelling 'BOBBY JOE". If you want to tell the story of a man losing his mind by these supernatural entities, at least have the audacity to make it a little scary instead of showing me a feature length three stooges movie set in a spooky cabin. The same retards who like ED2 are the same exact retards that unironically prefer the quippy S-Mart ending of AoD over the much cooler ending where Ash is trapped in a post apocalyptic future wasteland. The movie is a polished turd that appeals to literal children with the shittiest sense of humor. It takes one step forward and two steps back.

Watched it for the first time last year. I went in completely blind because I had only seen Army of the Dead before and I didn't like it.

Evil Dead 2 is a fucking masterpiece. It had the exact right ratio of horror and humor which Army of the Dead ruined.

In fact I think Evil Dead 2 encapsulates what we would later call "Yea Forums humor" while Army of the Dead would encapsulate what we would later call "Reddit humor".

Army of Darkness is actually a funny movie though with lines of dialogue that are somewhat clever such as the Jack & shit quote for example. There's not a single funny line in ED2 so that one is honestly more reddit.
