You are now aware that you live in a world, a terrifying world, where there are people right this moment who use terms such as "canon" and "cinematic universe" when talking about films and television shows. A world where imagined characters on a screen are required, according to those who discuss them, to adhere to "ground rules" set out by the creators of said-characters. A world where those that discuss these characters and their actions, are actually enraged if said-characters deviate from the mannerisms expected of them, the mannerisms that may have initially been set in the pages of a... comic book.

Think about that. A comic book. For children. Yes, pictures and words on the same page, which are meant to be read by children, that are actually read by adults. Adults who then bicker and express their frustration at film-adaptations of these comic books not being "faithful". Faithful to a comic book. That's supposed to be read by young children. This is your world. This is the world of capeshit.

Terrifying, isn't it?

Martin Scorsese - Marvel films will never be art

>Give Snyder control
>Flop
his movies were massive success making almost billion a piece. he also produced one of the best cape kinos in comicbook cinema history.
and only reason why multiverse will potentially fail is if disney producers intervene and ruin his vision. same happened with snyder, but gladly he was allowed to do his thing in the end.

Snyder made the most ridiculous, laughable, self-serious bullshit of all of them. I'd never rewatch a single one of his banal capeshit movies, aside from Watchmen of course.

>stuck in the past 1990s approach
Really? Sounds like kino.
Or am I being shilled with reverse psychology?

Snyder’s justice trilogy is the peak of capeshit. 3 movies that dared to try new things and give these stupid characters a form of artistry that everyone else refuses to do in fear of comic geeks and redditors crying about it. You can shit all over him, but he is the closest thing to an auteur that this crap gets.
No good morning sir required. I’m on the whitest man on this board.

Snyder turned iconic DC characters into knokcoff Marvel characters

Watchmen is his worst superhero movie

You tell 'im John Rocha!

What do you think that Synder did well? Be specific. Don't use grandiose language or sweeping generalizations to avoid having to commit to any specific point, break it down for me like I was a child. I'm genuinely curious what parts of these movies you think were good and why.

Racism confirmed

I refuse to elaborate.

Casting is 10/10

And in doing so admit defeat.

>>Give Snyder control
When? Dude was micro managed every step of the way.

have you seen snyder cut nigger? its a parody or snyder is mentaly challnged pajeet

You have abhorrent tastes

That very well may be but none of them flopped

I consider it a mixed bag, personally. Cavill as Clark and Affleck as Bruce are 10/10 in terms of casting, but largely wasted by being given scripts and direction that undercut all of their strengths for the part. Cavill can be an incredibly charismatic actor, but he was told to always look like he smelled a wet fart whenever he was helping people in a total lack of understanding for the character he was cast to play.

The rest of the cast decent enough, with a few standout exceptions like Ezra Flash or Eisenberg Lex, both of whom were totally miscast.

I guess flopped fails to contain the nuance of the result. WHat do you call it when the movie itself made money because people went and saw it, but word of mouth was so bad that how awful your movie was became a huge meme and you had to abandon the decade-long megaproject this was supposed to set up because you knew you didn't have the popularity to pull it off?

It made money, but it is otherwise obviously a failure. If we don't call that a flop, what do we call it?

A Snyder.

Good morning sir

>t.Nolanfag

That was Joss.

People having shit taste doesn't mean they magically dictate what's good or not. Just popular. Give your head a shake as well

user, I speak without smarmyness, what do you think of the HBO Watchmen?

>Or am I being shilled with reverse psychology?

this

the shills are getting more advanced.

No he unironically fixed Superman

Looks like you need a more advanced treatment user, the meds aren't helping

>I don't like NEW THING
Damn dude, what is your IQ?

>give Wan control
>he makes billion dollars on fucking AQUAMAN
?

Comics are good. Capeshit is awful and no one should watch it.

>full control
>"just make like a Marvel movie or something for us"
Yeah no

Higher than yours.

No, they aren't. MOST Superhero comics are mainly shit sunken cost fallacies that are made to never end. There are exceptions of course, where the story and characters are both well written. But the reality is the shit heavily outweighs the gold.

Except movie isn't ashamed about itself and being from comics and have actually good visuals and action
>"just make like a Marvel movie or something for us"
Is Justice league. And it was fucking flop

the movie isnt out yet and you called it a flop?

im tired of marvel shit too but you need to calm down

Wan is a real director

That's wrong, they gave control at first then got scared, meddle and ruin the movie because of that

>ezra flash is bad because.....HE JUST IS OKAY!??!?
Not an argument. Nothing wrong with that character no matter how hard your echochamber-haunting ass seethes.

>Except movie isn't ashamed about itself and being from comics and have actually good visuals and action
So your average Marvel flick except with a blackwashed lead got it

Its a new religion. Viewed with that perspective, it all makes sense. Even the usage of the word "canon" fits.

It's obvious what you're getting at but nobody likes a story full of plot holes, inconsistencies and characters just acting randomly.

Attached: Hey.png (625x470, 458.82K)

Are you retarded? Marvel movies both ashamed about being from comic and looks like shit

Literally who also OP is an overweight working class faggot who is too dimwitted to notice the failure of studio intervention

I've got a problem here.

>movie has a sam raimi 90's mentality
>this is a bad thing
fuck chuds, am i right, my fellow redditors?

Yes Comics are good, Moebius, Herge, Watterson, guys like those created great works, but capeshit always has, and always will be the bottom barrel genre of the comics medium and what holds it back from being recognized as a medium for more than just mindless children's or manchildren's obsessions.

>its for children
It was a lame excuse when it was used the first time as it is now. Truth is children do not give a flying fuck about these movies, adults do. You either do what's expected of these characters or you take your L and move on.

On that same note, these sòy people complaining about Raimi, whatever it may be, it will remain Reddit because that's what's these people are. I'm sure ill watch the movie and understand the direction Raimi took.

Sam Rami isn't a chud tho. He's a gay man and big time donor to many progressive organizations.

The problem with Dr. Strange 2 is the writing. The directing is fine but the plot/story is absolute dogshit and no director could save it.

Wrong. I saw way more children in the screening. Kinda amazed how 12 year could pick up the Easter eggs.

>A comic book. For children.
back when comics were a new medium there were tons of thriller, mystery, and murder comics grounded in reality. it was only until legacy media and the government stepped in and said "comics are turning people into serial killers" that those kinds of comics started to disappear. now all western comics are about superheroes, and even then most of them were geared towards adults and young adults

The only thing odd is how passionately people argue about this stuff, if a movie in the past was a random mess it'd still be dismissed as a pile of garbage.

Kids don't read comic books since the 80s

That's because you went to the first screening of the day. Most people are not NEET like you.

>bad guy pillages an murders through the universe
>tortures his one daughter
>kills the other for a shiny stone
>smashes skull of loved one in front of his love
Oh yeah. For kids. And the comics are even worse.

It's ok, basedgoys are going through their Raimi-bad phase

>give Raimi control
they didn't
twitter.com/Popplayzz1/status/1521742338434895872

raimi had nothing to do with the movie apart from le funny cameo from bruce campbell

Interesting.
America really stopped being truly free after the First World War.

'In America, conscription is unknown; men are enlisted for payment. Compulsory recruitment is so alien to the ideas and so foreign to the customs of the people of the United States that I doubt whether they would ever dare to introduce it into their law'.
- De La Démocratie en Amérique (1840)

Good morning sir but also based.
Not that user but I like how Snyder tried to put these ideal figures into a setting that is very much like the modern world. This is especially apparent in BvS where Superman and Batmans actions cause unrest and debates among people. Unfortunately this kind of atmosphere is completely gone in ZSJL, and makes it underwhelming compared to the previous two in my opinion.
There is also how Snyder applies mythology and religion in each heroes. Sure, they may be a little too on the nose, but it's perfectly fine considering how he attempts on making each characters feel like literal gods. I'm not really sure if this second point is specific enough, though.

Watchmen flopped
Man of Steel and BvS underpeformed
