In any iteration, Batman represents Order. Joker is chaos. You can't have that by being too subdued. He's not some kooky gentleman villain.

heath was nothing like walker. he started in teen type of flicks like walker, but veered off into more demanding roles. kind of how Depp and DiCaprio moved away from those things.
