It's over

it's over

Thank fuck. I wish we'd go back to cable and cinemas.

It’s only just begun

Imagine if after McDonald’s and fast food became successful, 200 different fast food chains appeared two years later

Imagine voluntarily watching CNN.

Good. Fuck streaming services.

>Death of the streaming era.
Netflix is dying for exactly the opposite reason, because the Streaming Era is now so large that the competition have caught up and smothered them.
CNN is utter shit and that has nothing to do with streaming; you might love Anderson Cooper prosletyzing to you but why the fuck would you pay money to have him do it even more.

>only two of the services fail
>one of the original ones loses subscribers as competition gets heated
>END OF THE STREAMING AGE

>virus happens
>every stock associated with staying at home gets massively overinflated
>virus ends
>big tech crash

and that's it.

Cable companies have fucked more people in a single day than a streaming service can in a lifetime.

Streaming is inevitable. What are people going to do, go back to overpaying for cable and not be able to choose what shows they watch? CNN misfired when they assumed people were going to watch all the dumb reality shows they added to the service. CNN would work best as a channel as part of other streaming platforms, not as something standalone.

Wishful thinking. CNN+ was a failed idea from the getgo because it didn't even include any regular CNN news.

Fuck old media, fuck new media, actually just fuck media.

televsion is insanely fucking boring, my options are either news, conair for the 500th time, sports, shitty day time gameshows, cartoon network and nickelodeon and thats fucking it

>premature

>CNN flops and Netflix's lack of quality content, as well as dropping their entire Russian subscribership, means streaming as a whole is over

FFS journos.

it's not over, how fucking stupid is the NYT?

it's just going to consolidate like literally every other industry does early on.

They know it's not over, but they can write spicy clickbait bullshitting about it.

HBOMAX failed so spectacularly they were sold to a reality TV show network.

what a dumb clickbait title. it'd be perfect if they'd just added AND HERE'S WHY at the end. as if we're going back to renting VHS tapes from blockbuster now. the bubble is bursting and the marketplace will adapt but streaming isn't going anywhere despite what this hysteric moron is insinuating.

It's starting to turn into Cable TV, so many fragmented options and soon the advertising will come marching in more and more to where you are paying and still have to see ads.

yeah, for 43 BILLION dollars. what a failure!

the point of this type of article is to contradict the title towards the end so they have to read the pointless speculation you've written.

Actually I think it was just AT&T being stupid with other businesses it has so they got rid of it to make some money back.

CNN+ just proved Trumo right. The only """""CNN viewers"""" are people at the airport, in hospital beds and nursing homes. They have no market at all and no one was jumping out of their seat to order their voluntary streaming service.

Rest in piece streaming is evil. At least you own the physical media but you're just dumping money into nothing. It's fucked up. That also allows them to constantly alter/censor things.
I have every kino I'll ever need on DVD.

that's not even a good food analogy.
it would be like if 200 fast food chains opened, and only 1 has fries, only 1 has burgers, only one has milkshakes etc.

Netflix went into the woke streaming race together with Disney and Amazon, difference is that Disney has a big catalogue of non-woke stuff people still want to watch, and Amazon bought MGM for that exact reason.

Disney and Amazon can and are losing money on their streaming platforms, and will for a long time, they have massive alternative revenue streams.

Netflix does not, so while all of them suffer from producing woke content people don't want to subscribe for, Netflix is the platform that can't afford doing so, as this is the only way they make money.

>trump lost
>t. CNN

Checkmate chud

>Premature

One would argue that it lasted just as long as it needed to.

This headline doesn't make any sense. Like the other guy in this thread said, Netflix is losing subscribers precisely BECAUSE streaming is healthy and thriving. Nobody wants to watch Netflix anymore because they hardly offer anything worth watching, but you have plenty of other streaming services that have a better selection or that have options Netflix lacks. Even Amazon Prime has an arguably better selection and you get free shipping from the site when you subscribe to it. And the CNN+ thing is a joke. Number one, I hadn't even heard of it until it died, so the marketing must have been terrible. Number three, CNN Has already been losing viewers in the past couple of years. And finally, why on Earth would anyone subscribe to CNN+ when you already have a 24-hour news cycle? Unless you're a cord cutter, in which case you're probably not the person who will be watching these programs in the first place.

HBO was sold by and to companies that are both owned by AT&T

it was a restructuring rather than a market "sale".

Anyone here have friends that aren't literal basement dwelling nazis? What do normies think of Netflix? Is it still the most popular?

>Could it be our service is simply shitty, is that why CNN+ failed?
>No it must be because streaming itself is failing, our product is flawless!

Cable is pozzed though, why?

No they will probably stop watching TV. I mean today video games are by far the biggest media industry around.

>Actually I think it was just AT&T being stupid with other businesses it has so they got rid of it to make some money back.

Look at the current state of HBO it's literally ALL OGRE

>CNNs viewership surges during Trump years as Dems use it to cope
>Viewership plummets as Dems no longer need to cope
>Launch streaming service as all of this happens
They really should have tried their luck a few years ago.

Oh, no. All the advertising dollars that HBO lost…
Moron.

Not to beat a dead horse but no one wants to watch woke content. I don't mean omg diversity I mean the people who make woke content fucking suck at making entertainment. If the industry cleared them the fuck out and got back to making great shows for everyone while niching woke content to those who want it (see: almost no one) things would change.

In the case of CNN, that's just an obvious joke. The most mocked name in news? Really? Way to read the room "investors".

All i have is Pluto TV. And honestly, all I watch are Addams Family and Andy Griffith Show.

i liked his analogy better. yours is shit and long winded

>netflix exist since 2007
what

>CNN+ failed
>Netflix lose some suscribers
>this can only mean that streaming is over!
They can't reflect or do any form of auto-criticism can they?

They only like Stranger Things and some of the crime stuff.

I don't understand how streaming companies can produce nothing but garbage.

You have the full potential to produce anything you want with no censorship, but they spend all their money on ufunny standup comedians and buying licenses for 20+ tv shows.

Where is all the fucking kino?.

Only losers play video games.

Pretty much have only watched sports and impractical jokers for the last 3ish years

Oversaturated market offering new content that is fucking dreadful, there was bound to be a crash

I one wants to pay for News. Let alone another streaming service.

*I for one

well, jewish money machine cannot maintain all the propaganda. It's expensive and the clock is ticking.

My brother and his GF use it to mostly watch Star Trek and Community.

Why pay for a News Streaming services when you can just go online and check the News for free?

CNN thought people would, which makes you wonder if they're even trying at this point.

You need to do your homework, bud.

Probably is netflix but hbo max is insanely popular. Maybe more than netflix

Puto TV is free and has better content

>big tech is just entertainment/distractions for staying home
Oh honey...

iptv is the future.
Speaking of anyone got an updated list

HBO Max streaming applications are universally fucking awful buggy messes even more than the other ones. Content is good and the old series backlog is excellent but fuck their applications are absolutely awful to use. Amazon prime is second in the awful application race. It just bothers me that these services have kajillions of dollars and can't make a functioning program.

Cinemas are pozzed though, why?
Bring back Drive Ins
Oh, and good movies

t.pol schizo who never graduate HS pinning complex business dynamics to le woke buzzword he was brainwashed with by right wing propaganda.

t.ranny

You stupid fucking kikes of course netflix is losing subs the plandemic is over
