That has nothing to do with what I said about left-wingers actually caring about issues and policy and right-wingers by and large not caring at all. To the extent that there's any "infighting" in the Republican Party it's between people who are slavishly devoted to Trump and wanting to court his followers and people who realize what an absolute disaster his behavior and shameless corruption has been for the party long-term. When you look at what he actually accomplished policy-wise during his four year term it's virtually indistinguishable from what any other Republican would have done in the same position. He got his massive multi-trillion dollar tax cut for the rich and he appointed right-wing activist judges. All they're concerned about is optics. Republican voters meanwhile will just take whatever the party is doing and work backwards to justify it, whatever it is, no matter how inconsistent it might be with their "beliefs", just like they always have.
