That you could read them at like age 6

Why are femanons so obsessed with Harry Potter?

and the films hitting at the right time rather than being adapted 10 years later like a lot of children's books are

and the fact they were high budget films that weren't complete shit despite the contrarianism

Because they are stupid. For real: power fantasy, muh strong female characters and author. But it appeals to many males too.
In general or with regard to the movies?

the movies. the vast majority of people don't give a shit about the books, they're just the movie on paper.

the books were an okay read as a child but I never saw a film after goblet of fire
also only the first 3 books made for good pc games from what I remember

They were just good. Very rewatchable
If you were into them as a kid you will probably find that thing somewhat nostalgic even if you find it cringe

>the vast majority of people don't give a shit about the books
500 million sold copies

I was a huge fan of books as a child and I preferred them much more than the movies (stopped watching after 4). As for the movies themselves, 1 and 2 were a bit safe and bland but comfy, 3 was really good and 4 was ok but didn't capture atmosphere of the book in my opinion.

why are anons so obsessed with capeshit? most people are stupid and like childish media

You just answered your own question.

499 of those are retarded cat moms over the age of 40

i know

Nah, children genuinely liked this shit.

Status

Nobody cares about Harry Potter in 2022.

they're just good youth fantasy

Except tranny lovers.

The books are okay reads for kids, but they're nothing too special. The movies (at least the first few) are great and have mass appeal.
Harry Potter is the best britbong export since Mr. Bean

his enormous fat cock

Women who desperately cling to their childhoods/youth obsess over HP.

The movies lack that famous scene where Dumbledore takes out his wrinkly old wand and tells Potter:
>Now, you will feel true magic inside you.

>jk rowling books
>tranny lovers
????

Americans are so retarded. This was a worldwide best seller. Everyone loved it

Well, they still care (i.e. shit on Rowling).

Why don't you have a seat over there...

>But it appeals to many males too.
yes if some dude rates harry potter more than LOTR you can be sure he is a homo

"No!"

I also want to have the sex with Gabrielle Delacour

I certainly preferred HP books to LOTR when I was a child but now I see them as a guilty pleasure at best. Always liked LOTR movies much more tho.

blends fantasy elements (magic) into a relatable, realistic premise (school story). good formula for wide range appeal

This. I actually liked detective/mystery stuff in the novels much more than magic/action.

this, I remember I started reading harry potter in first grade. the books were much longer than anything I was used to at the time but it was still a pretty easy read even then, compared to when I read lord of the rings in fourth grade and had trouble comprehending the writing

Why cant they tie ties?

Emma watsons budding breasts

Same, I just wanted a relatable story of kids and teenagers growing up in a boarding school and getting into mischief, the books were great in that aspect.

They don't give a shit because they are le rebellious teens.

>story of kids and teenagers growing up in a boarding school and getting into mischief
This was good too but I am talking more about the overaching plots, e.g.
>who wants to steal the stone
>who is the heir of Slytherin
>whoputnameingobletoffiyah
with all the red herrings etc.

Rosbifs know how to write?
Kid literature but nonetheless, solid.

Both Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings continues to be so impactful because they came out only a couple of months after 9/11.

They or one of them became a reality escape from this scary new world we found ourselves in for almost everyone between the ages of 5 and 25 at the time

Kek.

fuck off yank

Go back to your Gryffindor safe space

Rowling has a ginger fetish.

The transphobia

probably the first girl I was ever attracted to

Deh

Anybody who saw him performing Equus would know that's not true.

it's like the MCU for girls

Good point. The books were not all out by the time the movies were being produced.

I still rewatch/re-read the series every couple years, probably mostly due to nostalgia, but it's just a comfy, fairly immersive fantasy story. the setting is full of plotholes but most people don't really care about stuff like that

No but I enjoyed watching the blurry mobile phone footage of naked Daniel Radcliffe :)

i recently watched all of the HP movies for the first time ever. they are extremely comfy, i enjoyed them much more than i thought i would.

>the movies. the vast majority of people don't give a shit about the books

Kek. Na. These movies would have zero weight if it weren't for the book series.

That’s because they stopped trying, if they wanted they could have made good games out of books 4-7, too bad there aren’t dedicated autists to make fangames based on those books using the Chamber of Secrets engine and assets

I recently rewatched them too and felt this way about the first 3-4, but then they become pretty dreary and dull and even formulaic.

He’s right. They came out Fall of 01 and they were an escape from the 9/11 anthrax scare era. I was 10 at the time and they were extremely comforting

Haven’t seen the two towers and return of the king in years but I saw fellowship and a bit of PoA recently and thought fellowship was well paced while the pacing in PoA was completely wack despite being based on a shorter book, like everything was happening too fast.

Still am.
